Chapter 44 - Planet Dongwu

This Fu Beijing was really nothing good. He acted like a good person when he was still roommates with them but now that he made friends with a couple of elites, he was walking around with his nose high up in the air.

If you want to curry favour with others, go ahead, why involve them in the process? He was even doing more than the people involved.

Qi San once thought Han Zihao was the most hateful person he had ever met but this Fu Beiyong had refreshed his view and topped that list with a really wide margin.

Just imagine the brain dead duck calling them poor, wasn't he the same? Making friends with the elites wouldn't automatically drain his commoner blood!

"Fat kid, who was talking to you? Why don't you mind your business?" Fu Beiyong sneered.

Qi San exploded. "I dare you to come closer to me and repeat those words! Just come closer and see how I crush you with my morsels of gelatin!"

He was already approaching Fu Beiyong as he said this. "So you think you're all powerful now that you're hanging out with a bunch of pretentious kids?

-Big bro Yu is also an elite but you don't see him running around with his nose in the clouds looking for commoner kids to oppress."

Fu Ting laughed. "An elite? Even an adopted kid like him considers himself an elite? Qi San you really opened my eyes today. If it were that easy to be an elite then does that mean that Duyi kid is also an elite just because the Han family took him in? What a joke!"

The kids around burst out laughing whilst Qi San saw red, even Huo Lan stepped out now.

"Fu Ting, you better watch your mouth. Big bro Yu has done nothing wrong, why are you always attacking him?"

"I just don't like his face, do I need a rea-"

Before he finished his words he was sent flying away by Duyi's spirit energy. Everyone stared at Duyi in shock. Where did he come from?

Han Zihao was more perplexed than the others. Even though the spirit energy Duyi used showed that he was in the Yellow phase and was nothing special amongst these geniuses, it was really surprising for him.

He always thought Duyi was assimilation trash who couldn't advance, what was this? He frowned at Duyi but said nothing, a calculating look in his eyes.

Wen Yu was the most shocked. Why did Duyi suddenly attack the kid? This was something he'd expect from Qi San and not the indifferent Duyi. Why was everyone grabbing the other person's script nowadays?!

Although Fu Ting's words hurt a lot, he chose to ignore it because he really couldn't do anything about it. He was weak and fighting would only lead to his ultimate embarassment. He really needed to work harder.

He'd rather let people think he didn't care and settle the scores when he became stronger so he was about to pull Qi San away when this happened.

He looked to Duyi. The kid's eyes were glued to the ground. Why did he help him? Was he even trying to help him or did Fu Ting do something to annoy him secretly?

A prompt soon came for them to head over to the spaceship. The Spirit master had left a while ago and the staff around weren't really paying attention to the cadets so nobody noticed the little confrontation.

Wen Yu was glad. It would've been really troublesome if Duyi was punished because of him.

They were soon strapped to their various pods on the spaceship but Wen Yu still couldn't stop pondering over Duyi's actions. It was very confusing.

Duyi himself just laid in his pod absentmindedly. He really didn't know why he helped Wen Yu, or did he really help Wen Yu? He wasn't sure.

Even when the Fu kid had insulted him about being an elite, he wasn't angry. He was used to his situation in the Han family anyways.

He just couldn't take the fact that he had gone after Wen Yu like that. Wen Yu did nothing wrong, he was so nice, he didn't deserve to be made fun of.

And when Qi San and Huo Lan were defending him he felt he had to do something. Just like when Wen Yu stood up for him and also helped him advance. He had to repay his debt. No such thing as free lunch.

His thoughts were just going haywire with no particular direction and he soon gave up on thinking. It did nothing except make his head hurt anyways.

Hours later, they arrived at their destination and the AI prompt sounded out, giving the name of the Planet.

The cadets who were currently getting out of their pods, all froze in shock. Planet Dongwu? As in the Planet Dongwu?

Their eyes shook. It really couldn't be the Planet Dongwu in their minds right? Wasn't that supposed to be a planet solely inhabited by spirit beasts with not a single human civilization?

What was this?! What was Lingxiu Academy thinking? Were they after their lives? Wasn't this supposed to be a safe excursion with a bunch of outdoor exercises? Why did no one tell them beforehand?!

Pfft. Wen Yu laughed in his mind. This reversal was too quick!

He'd gone through the contents of the Academy pack and he was certain it would be something like this. The pack contained basic tools for survival and an insane amount of blue hex stones and even two purple ones.

He was confused at first concerning the hex stones but now he knew the reason. Planet Dongwu was famous for one unique trait and that was that it drained spirit energy from the body of its inhabitants.

As for why, this was due to the insane amounts of dead cores surrounding every nook and cranny of the planet.

It was only became somewhat safe for spirit beasts due to the presence of some dead cores that became mutated and prevented the spirit energy drain on spirit beasts.

Low, Medium, Intermediate and Advanced level spirit beasts began to pop up everywhere on planet Dongwu the moment the dead cores began to mutate.

The place practically became a spirit beast paradise.
