Chapter 37 - Chapter 36 - Training

The next morning Maeisha's wing got up on time and after having pre breakfast were in the training room at 6:15.

Maei and her group were a little apprehensive because according to the schedule given to them the Battle Master and the rest of the instructors expect a lot from them.

Lorcan had explained to them that such cases rarely happens and when it did the instructors turned those students into exceptional warriors. Their own wing was such an example. They were also removed from the first years and trained differently than others.

Now if they want all of Rhys's wing can graduate since they have already achieved the minimum requirement but they still want to learn more and polish their style before going out into the field.

So Maei and her wing mates decided to listen to Lorcan and give their 100% to whatever is asked from them.

When Nessa entered the room Maei's wing were already in line and in formation. She was satisfied to see that they listened to her orders well. She was going to make this wing the best she ever had.

She walked to the center of the room and stood exactly before them.

"From today onwards I will see you here everyday at the same time until you are told otherwise. I will teach you to be good warriors and even more I will teach you how to be stronger together. Together you will become one of the best the Empire have ever seen. I expect nothing but your complete dedication and to follow my orders well.

"From the training schedule you received yesterday, you now know that your schedule is completely different from other students. That is because the Battle master and we think your aptitude and capabilities are higher than others. I am going to turn what you know about fighting and weapons. I will make you know that to win a fight you don't need a weapon all you need is YOU!"

"Now as you can see, there are no practise weapons out, that is because you will not touch a weapon until you have mastered the art of unarmed battle. To help me with this I have brought in a couple of extra instructors, you will address them with respect or you'll do suicides, you will do as they say or you'll do suicides."

"Suicides?" Simon asked hesitantly.

"A series of sprints, you start at one spot, sprint to a mark and sprint back to where you started then you sprint to the second mark and back to where you started and so on until you got to the last mark. You will be doing ten sets of suicides at full sprint, if you go slow you will get punished with another set of suicides. If you tripp or lose your footing you get another set of suicides. Once ten sets of suicides get too easy I will increase the number."

Maei and her team were scared and excited to have such a no nonsense instructor.

A strict teacher brings out the best student, after all a diamond shines the more it is polished.

That is when they saw two people enter the room. One they already knew but the other instructor is someone they had never seen before.

The one they already knew was Becca Collick, Nessa's sister and their quartermaster. She was short, not more than 5 feet and had short brown hair tied back. From what Cadel had gathered from other flight mates was to never mess with her. She may look tiny and unthreatening but was a monster in a fight. They were scared to get picked by her during fight tests.

The one they didn't know was a man. He was tall and had a large scar that went from his eye and across his cheeks. One can see that the person who did that tried to blind him but he dodged and got cut across his cheeks instead.

"This is instructor Becca and you already know her. The one next to her is a recently joined instructor. He is a master tactician. He will not only teach you how to plan your moves against an enemy but also teach you to fight with a Rakurai. His name is Darren Dey. You will treat them with respect and address them as Sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Rakurai sir?" Cadel questioned puzzled as he had never heard of such a weapon.

"A Rakurai is a recently made weapon artefact. It is a weapon that is completely build on energy. You will see it later. From today you will first be given fitness training in which we will build your stamina and endurance. After which you will have your obstacle course that will let you work on your team building. We will also do aim training with guns and archery. We will not be using the blade until you are completely familiar with close body fighting. Any other questions?"

"No sir!"

"We will begin our training. Now give me 10 laps around the room. Go!"

Maei and her wing started to run as soon as they were given the order.

"Do not run too fast and do not run without formation. I want you to run uniformly with the same formation you were in before. Maei take point!"

"Yes sir!"

They soon changed their positions and ran in formation without breaking the space between them. They looked completely in sync and order.

While the students were running Becca and Darren walked upto Nessa.

"You are being harder and demanding more from them than you were with Rhys's wing." Becca observed.

Darren nodded as well. He thought she was asking too much of these kids. Even he didn't go through such training when he was their age.

"Have you read their files?"

Both of them shook their heads.

"These kids, all of them have opened their martial spirit at the age of ten. Not only that their level of perception is really high. During their entrance tests the answers they gave completely surprised the Battle Master and us three. The tactics questions that are rarely answered were all answered by them and when ran through the battle statistics calculator they reached a win rate of more than 60%. Their abilities are also very high. The one with the least aptitude is Lili and even then she has a red grade top wind aptitude."

Becca and Darren were speechless. They turned to look at the kids who were not more than 11, but their aptitude were so damn good that even they were jealous. Now they understood why the Battle School Master was being so hard on them. He didn't want them to waste their talent.

Even more there was a belief in The Empire. The individual who were blessed with high talent had to go through much hardship and dangers. The heavens blessed them with such powers because they had a different and difficult plan for them.

These kids all have such high talent they (battle school Master and his seconds) were afraid that will go through very hard difficulties in the future which is why the Master was preparing them....
