The yellow sun was pouring down sums of heat across the rooftop parking lot where Midas and Reed pursued chaos. Phase 3 of the Metatron Tournament had just been initiated, where Reed himself was the target for elimination in order to proceed.
"THIS WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN URIEL!!!" Midas screamed. Although being the co-founder of the Metatron Tournament, the objective of the current phase was completely out of Midas' knowledge. He gritted his teeth at Uriel's impulsiveness to sweep him underneath the rug, just for A.X.A. to get their hands on the Sin of Wrath. That was, after all, the entire scheme behind the Metatron Tournament—to create an opportunity for A.X.A. to take the Sin of Wrath for themselves. Midas only partook in the plan in order to guarantee himself the long-awaited knowledge behind A.X.A.'s history and technology, even if it meant using his comrades—the Sins—to his advantage at a point one would consider betrayal.
It was the everlasting greed that compelled him.
"Tsk!" Midas clenched his palm, manifesting an amount too large for him to handle of Reed's emotional essence driven by his never-ending rage. Midas only had one choice, and it was to take Reed head-on in order to fulfill his end of the deal: guaranteeing Reed's capture by A.X.A. so that he could receive their knowledge in return. Midas thought what better way to take Reed down than use his own emotional power against him, so using his ability, Midas took a handful of it.
"T-Too much—!" His eyes strained intensely. The amount of burning energy Midas felt his body contain was on the brink of exploding, and that explosion was sent in Reed's direction.
"REED!!!" Midas screamed.
"RAGHH!!!" Reed screamed back.
The two threw heavy punches at one another, directly connecting with each other's fists. The power that exploded between them was at a near standstill, with Reed just barely overpowering Midas' energy, while Midas' energy was still enough to obliterate Reed's entire body into mangles. The end results were two separate dismembered piles of flesh, blood, and limbs. The damage Reed sustained was on such a level he'd never experienced before that his regenerative cells actually struggled to mend his body back together, and would continue to struggle, maintaining his half-dead state as a blob of guts. Midas on the other hand was in a similar state—that of a pile of blended body parts—but the only difference was that he had no regenerative abilities to keep him stabilized.
Midas was dead.
Other than Midas' death, another form of death was present at the scene.
"Now's your chance, Azrael. Go in and collect Reed's remains using the device I gave you."
Overseer Azrael flew in on Chamuel's command through the ear-piece and pulled out a device which he aimed at the pile of Reed, shooting it. The device formed a physical yet translucent cube around him. Azrael was just about to grab the captured Reed and fly out of the tournament boundaries before Chamuel stopped him.
"Encapsulate Midas too."
"But he's dead…" Azrael responded. Chamuel persisted. "We have one last Trinity Gem."
"Are you sure Michael would be okay with that—?"
"Just do it."
Hesitantly, Azrael aimed the device at Midas' remains and captured it within a cube as well. Soon, the Angel of Death would quickly soar out of the Metatron Tournament boundaries, unnoticed, while carrying two portable cubes of Sins back to the A.X.A. facility.
