Chapter 19 - 19 Scott’s first trial

Feeling the dizziness of what struck them, Eunice and her group members could do nothing but crawl out of their trial room.

Making their way out through the first door they entered, the breath of fresh air and peace hit them to the extent that they laid on the ground knowing fully well that their first challenge had been cleared.

Before heading out to meet their mates, the rest of Eunice's group thanked her as they all grabbed her by body giving her a breath choking hug.

She told them to calm down and release the force in the hug as she said "we should be grateful to the first person that was hit by the consequences for not opening the correct door".

Giving once again a sigh of relief, they made their way out to meet their mates in the gathering room.

As soon as Eunice came out of the room, she Sean towards Scott with all happiness in her as she was happy to see him once again.

She told him the tale of her trial whilst using her hand and mouth to demonstrate all that happened.

Scott and the guys took every bit of information they could from Eunice's story.

And unfortunately for Scott, his turn soon came as he hurriedly went back to meet up with his group and they all shared the information they all got from their allies.

As they rallied to take their challenge, they were all swallowed in fear as they could not figure out what their challenge would look like (except they enter of course).

Scott closed his eyes and looked up to the heavens as he whispered "this is for you".

I wonder who that lovely promise or rather word was for. Do you know, like I the author cannot even figure out who it was for.

Just kidding, I know but say your answers though.

As he entered, he and his group mates were given the same procedure as they saw phones which they all took.

Switching on the screen and waiting for it to say something, it didn't voice a word and they entered the room in front of them.

Immediately they entered the room, water started entering the room and it began to rise slowly. Some instantly said "I do not intend to get drowned people so please let do what we gotta do".

Then that same voice without humanity came out majestically with ease " the game will now commence, it s called Light bulb".

"The door opens and closes freely", the voice said. The students raised their heads up and they saw a room with had a door by their right hand side.

The voice continued "Question: which switch turns on the light bulb?".

Quickly scanning with their eyes for where the switches were, they saw three switches with tags of A,B and C on them as it was on their left hand side of their current room.

Still stating the how the game will be, the voice further explained" the rules of the game are one, only one switch can turn on the light bulb".

"Two,you have only one chance to flip the switch while the door is opened and if the door is closed, you can flip the switch many times as you like".

"Three, if the door is locked or someone is in the room where the light bulb is, the door will be locked and cannot be moved"

"Lastly, you have only one chance to answer as a group".

The voice further said "if you answer correctly which switch turn on the light bulb, you clear the game but if the water level reaches the electrical wires above, it is game over for all of you".

********************************************

Yes, they will be electrocuted and maybe die, I don't know but they know that they will be electrocuted.

Someone named James quickly noted saying "Damn, the water is rising and it will get to the wires before we know it".

Opting to go into the room, they reminded the boy that if he enters the room, the door will not close. With a girl also coming to a conclusion that they can only open the door once when the door is opened.

With boy stating that it does not make sense to flip the switch if the door is closed though.

Talking arrogantly, Ben states that "if you flip the A switch when the door is opened and if the light bulb does not go on then it is clear that the answer is not A".

James told Scott to flip the "A" switch but Ben quickly responded with "if it the answer is wrong".

James then said "if it turns on, it is "A" but if it doesn't then we know that it is either "B" or "C". With him backing himself up with the sentence "At least, we will have a fifty percent chance".

But Ben said "It is sixty six chance, you moron".

James looking very confused said "shouldn't it be fifty percent".

The remaining group members were also confused as it showed in their body language except from Ben who was surprisingly still composed.

Out of nowhere, Ben popped a question towards Scott asking him "what would you do, Scott?". Everyone seemed silent as they saw that Ben was seemingly interested in Scott.

Scott said "Everyone, for now we flip a switch with the door still opened. If the light bulb does not turn on, they will decide on one out of the remaining two switches".

Ben disagreed claiming that Scot was trying to guess but Scott said "we have no choice than to bet on it". Ben then said "so you want to bet while putting lives at stake".

Scott bluntly answered with a "yes" as he also shouted that if Ben knows the answer, he should say it but Ben simply said "I am testing you, Scott".

On hearing this, the other students went into a rage full stating with the stance that Ben was toying with their lives as he was dragging them into a newcomer's trail.

Ben just responded to them "Giving up already",

At this moment, the water was piling and it was almost reaching the designated level with tension filling the air.

Ben said "Solve this, Scott".
