‘I challenge you. I challenge you. I challenge you.’
The words rang out in Theo’s mind as he awoke from his dream. The events of yesterday came rushing back and he sighed.
He was still in disbelief but that wasn’t going to stop him from what he had to do. Theo knew that he had to accept that the challenge was very real, even if he didn’t want it to be.
He groaned as his eyes made their way to the window. There he saw that the sun had barely risen. Reluctantly, he got up from his bed and walked to the bathroom.
After a quick shower, he got dressed and left his room. But as soon as he stepped into the hallway he collided with a small figure.
“Ouch!”
Theo placed his hands on the person’s shoulder in an effort to steady them. Their eyes connected and he realized just who it was.
“Sophie,” he whispered her name.
“Oh, Theo. Good morning.”
“Are you okay? I’m sorry, I didn’t see you.”
“I’m fine.” Sophie smiled lightly.
“You can’t sleep either, huh?” asked Theo.
