Gala jolted up gasping for air; it was as if she had been drowning for many hours and she had just come out of such a predicament, and now she was taking in lungfuls of air, filling her lungs that were devoid of air.
Her chest was heaving up and down erratically, and her eyes were bulging out in surprise and confusion.
"What just happened?" She asked loudly as she darted her eyes around her.
There were a lot of books littering the floor. She let out a shriek when she spotted the prince's body lying unconscious on the floor, covered in blood.
She remembered it now: the prince stabbed her back to remove her wings... then she remembered seeing Alvaro confront the prince before her vision blacked out.
"Alvaro… " She whispered and turned around frantically to look for him. Her head jerked back and forth, then her eyes stopped when she spotted a familiar figure somewhere in the far corner of the secret chamber.
