I sat up in a fright as my alarm went off. 'Another nightmare... Will it ever end?' I slowly get out of my bed before turning off my alarm. I quickly get dressed and pulled my hair up into a ponytail when little tapping sounds came from my window. I looked over and saw Chase sitting there. 'What the hell is he doing here?' The voice asked irritated. Rolling my eyes, I walked over to the window and pulled it open, looking at Chase sternly. "How could you hurt Lucas like this?" Chase look taken aback by my sudden question. "Adelina, I didn't mean-"
"I don't want to hear your lame excuses! Lucas is beyond hurt that his best friend since day one was actually secretly stabbing him in the back!" My rage was at an all new high. The wolf in me wanted to be released, it wanted to rip Chase apart. I wanted him to feel Lucas' pain, but I didn't let the wolf out.
"Last time I checked, you kept your real self hidden from him too, and you're the girl he loves." Chase forces his way into my room and I look at him irritated. He stretches out his arms and looks back at me. "You act like I'm the only one who hurt him. Guess what? You hurt him too, so don't try to make yourself feel better by placing the blame on me." I looked at Chase wide eyed. He was right, we both hurt Lucas. Maybe I hurt him more than Chase did, but this was someone we both knew trusted us completely and this is how we repaid him.. By betraying his trust. 'What kind of friends are we...?' I thought sadly.
Chase shook his head, "Look, I'm not here to bicker about Lucas' feelings. I know about your meet-up with the Demons. I wanna help you." Chase looked at me again and his eyes softened, I was seeing the Chase I used to know. The one that would joke about anything and everything, the Chase that would never hurt us. But, the Chase I knew was only a façade. I can't trust him like I used to. "I highly doubt that. You chose Ginger's side, why would you want to help me, huh? Give me a reason." I crossed my arms and looked at him with the coldest stare I could muster. Chase sighed heavily and looked down, "I know things between us will never be like how they used to, but I only took Ginger's side because I was forced to. I never wanted to be a spy for her." He looked at me before continuing, "I hate her, I hate how she treats the Angels.. She abuses them to the point where they become the Fallen." My eyes widened.
The Fallen are an unspoken group of Naos. They used to be one of the Naos belonging to a class until something or someone has caused them severe torment and suffering, making them lose their inner lights of Heaven or Hell. Once that light is gone in a Nao, they lose all sense of control, making them deranged and vengeful. They seek out anything with an eternal light inside of them. The Fallen are blind creatures with towering, twitching bodies of what was once human looking. Their Nao abilities increase tenfold since there's nothing to hold them back anymore. Even though they can't see, they can sense a Nao's light, once sensed.. That Nao will be torn apart, limb from limb until there's nothing left but a pool of blood.
I shuddered at the memory of Fallen attacks seen on the news channel last week. The images were too graphic to be shown publicly, but I can only imagine what it looked like. 'There's more for us to fear than Killeos...' The voice whispered. "You mean.. She intentionally turns them into Fallen?" Chase slowly nodded his head. I don't even dare asks what happens after she turns them. "My sister..." Chase took a deep breath and wiped his eyes, was he crying? "My sister became one of them. One of the Fallen. Ginger just threw her into a cell like she meant nothing!" Tears streamed freely down Chase's face now. 'It's all making sense now.' I carefully stepped closer to Chase and looked him in the eye. "I can't forgive you for what you've done, but I understand why you did it... You can come with me if you want." Chase looked at me surprised. "You mean it?" His eyes lit up a bit and that made me feel a little better about all of this. "Yeah, I do. C'mon, we have to get there before 3am." I turned and climbed out of my window, landing in the grass of my yard.

Chase landed in front of the warehouse and put me down. "This is the place." I looked up at the building and walked towards the entrance with Chase behind me. As I reached for the handle, the rusted door opened with a loud creak and there stood the Demon I had met before. He looked me up and down, "Bout time you showed up." He smirked before looking at Chase; his smirk quickly disappeared. "What's with the posse?" Chase stiffened slightly and I looked at him. "He's not here to start any fights, so don't worry." I looked back at the Demon and crossed my arms.
He looked between me and Chase before speaking, "If you say so, but that four-winged brat stays out here. Let's go." He walked back into the warehouse without another word. I looked back at Chase worried, to which he just shook his head. "This is normal, just go Adelina.. I'll wait out here." He leaned against an old post and pulled out something from his pocket, it looked like a lighter but I couldn't really tell. I ran inside after the Demon and caught up to him half-way through a long corridor.
"You got your deal in mind?" He glanced at me from over his shoulder. I looked at him and nodded, "Yeah, I know exactly what I want the deal to be." I said confidently. He shrugged and looked straight ahead. "Don't get too cocky, our king is a tough one to talk to." The Demon suddenly whipped around and pulled me close to him by my waist. "It would be a shame if he said no to this pretty face." I could feel my inner wolf growling.
"Let me go. I have a boyfriend." I pushed him off of me and took a couple steps back. The Demon only chuckled, "Well then, your boyfriend is very lucky. A Nao girl like you with a body like that? He should be thanking his Gods for landing you as his." He winked at me before continuing to walk again. I rolled my eyes, annoyed beyond annoyed now. 'What the hell was that??' The voice asked loudly. 'Don't even try to ask me, it's just probably him flirting.' I shook my head and followed the Demon into a large room full of people. The closer I looked at them, the more I realized they were Demons of all different types: Yellow demons, Djinns, Nordic Jotunns, Pazazus, and a lot more were crowding the large room.
In the center was a throne made of a metal I don't recognize. On this strange throne sat a man in a suit with auburn hair. His bright green eyes fixed on me and I felt chills run up and down my spine. "Finally, you've brought in the pup, Damien. Thank you." The Demon that lead me in bowed to this guy. "Of course, my king." The Demon named Damien stepped out of the way and the room became dead quiet. The king rose from his throne and walked towards me so elegantly that it looked like he was floating. "So, Adelina Jacobs, a little birdy told me that you wanted to make a deal with me." He smirked at me. "How do you know my name?" With my question, he only laughed shortly. "I see and hear everything, little pup. For I am the king after all." He walked to the middle of the room and raised his arms high. "I am the King of Hell!" With that, the whole room was filled with cheers and encouraging screeches. With a small wave of his hand, the room went quiet again.
"I am known as the Vranghdrun, but you may call me Kiel." Kiel turned towards me and smiled. He was so refined, yet so deadly. 'What a terrifying Demon.' The voice said fearfully. "Now, let's cut to the chase." Kiel walked back towards his throne and sat down with ease, making no unnecessary movements. It was mesmerizing watching him, but I shook my head to snap me back. "Now, tell me your deal, puppy. I'll tell you if I like it or not." I felt a million eyes staring into me, burning holes into every part of me. Kiel's mesmerizing green eyes turned a beautiful, yet devastatingly horrifying color of red with only a blink. With a shaky breath, I opened my mouth to tell him my deal.
