Eva shielded her face with her arm as she stretched her arms and fluttered open her eyes slowly with a yawn.

Her mouth remained half open as she looked around and wondered why she was fallen on the floor at such an awkward angle. Her neck hurt more than anything as she cracked it sideways and her eyes traveled upward.

Her eyeballs almost popped out at the sight of the man standing on the doorstep.

He stared at her.

She gazed at him.

And then she let out a shrill scream.

Theo stumbled back toward the wall, looking as if he was startled the heck out of his wits.

"What the fuck happ-" Kai stopped midway as his hair landed on his eyes and he glanced at her and then at him in slow motion.

"Eva, darling, he ain't a ghost," he spoke in a soothing tone, crouching down toward her and hollering out in pain when Eva slapped him hard on the arm.

'This bastard...'

'...'

'I'm becoming more like Davina aren't I?'

"Glad to see you back asshole," Kai muttered as he stood back up, rubbing his arm and flexing it as he glared at her and Eva cocked her head in challenge.

"Where are the others—"

"What are you doing here on the floor?"

She scowled at being interrupted and then blinked when he raised a brow, patiently waiting for her answer.

"I... sleepwalked," she stated as if he was a fool for not knowing and narrowed her eyes at Kai who stuffed his fist inside his mouth the very next second.

"Any more lies before the expected truth?" he questioned, folding his arms across his white shirt and Eva's eyes landed on the first two buttons that he had left undone.

'Did he do that on purpose!?'

"You out of everyone has no fucking right to say that." she blurted out, getting up to her feet with the help of the nearby wall.

He stared at her dumbfounded as if he'd not expected her to say that. It somehow brought her satisfaction that she could make him speechless too just as he did to her often enough.

Too often in fact...

"Eva sweetie, I once heard from somewhere that women shouldn't curse—"

"Who said that?" Eva asked, turning around to face Kai.

Kai parted his mouth to answer when he saw Theo face-palming behind Eva. He furrowed his brows and then shrugged his shoulders. 'What a weird friend he had...'

"To be honest, I don't remember. Consider it was me for a second, though I get turned on when women curse." he winked and Eva smiled endearingly.

"In that case..." she replied in the sweetest tone ever.

"Get fucked."

Kai's jaw fell slack as she heard a small chuckle of laughter coming from behind her. It didn't take her too much time to connect two and two to figure out who that deep voice belonged to.

She saw him clearing his throat as she whirled around, her eyes resembling pointy-shaped daggers that he had seen Kai carry many times before.

"And you. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?" he blinked in surprise.

"About that room. About how you lose control sometimes. Why did I have to hear it from their mouths?" she hissed out, preventing her tone and eyes from softening when she found out there was no need. The glare he sent Kai made her shiver even though it wasn't directed at her.

Crossing her arms, she mirrored his posture and took a step sideways to cover Kai with her small body structure. It at least hid half his body away from Theo's sight.

"What did I do to deserve this? Why do I always get stuck in this mess!?" she heard Kai cry out in a small hiss and pursed her lips to stop her smile from taking over.

"Eyes on me. They did what I had asked them to," she spoke and struggled to breathe when his intense stare shifted to her.

'Plan Anger: An utter disaster...'

"It's nothing," he replied briefly and Eva clenched her fists, wondering how she would feel if she punched him in the arm too.

'Would feel better than punching Kai, that's for sure.'

"It's nothing? Nothing!?"

"Ok it's s-something." he looked down at himself as if he was silently questioning why he was stuttering at her tone.

"Come down to breakfast you bastards before I drag you down here!" the boys both jumped in fright when Gwen's voice echoed off the walls and Eva bit her lip to stop herself from bursting out into giggles.

"Take your time Eva." she continued on in a softer yet still loud tone as both Kai and Theo looked at her simultaneously, expressing their confusion and bafflement.

Cocking a questioning brow at both of them, she walked off leaving the pair behind and allowed herself to smile widely as she replayed the scene in her head.

She'd ask him about it later in... privacy.

When she jumped off the last step of the staircase, Eva wanted to smack her head on the nearest wall at the sight she was greeted with.

'...'

'Some people just shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen.'

Gwen chuckled weakly while Davina laid her head down on the table and seemed to doze off in the middle of the ruckus. Eva massaged her temple and stalked off toward Gwen who was holding a pan that was... empty?

Eva tilted her head, "What happened?"

"I was trying to fry some eggs," she spoke pointing to the empty container. Eva scanned it for a whole minute before raising her head again.

"And... did the eggs evaporate?"

"They might've been burned a little but nothing 'too' bad," she said cheerfully and smiled despite the horrifying expression that betook Eva's face.

Her eyes twitched as she looked back at the black pan and slowly spoke, "Nothing... too bad?"

'Too bad!?'

Gwen swallowed nervously when Eva smiled sweetly and took her arm, leading her out of the kitchen and making her sit next to Davina.

"Why don't you stay here while I fix the 'nothing too bad'"?

Gwen nodded her head, her smile falling instantly when Eva turned around. 'Why the hell do I go embarrassing myself every day...' she mumbled to herself internally and copied Davina's posture, closing her eyes in turn.

'I'm sure that bastard can't cook either...'
