Chapter 94 - Lie

Coming out of the bathroom after making herself look more... presentable, Eva turned around to face him. How did she always somehow end up getting into his room at the end of the day?

Since her bathroom was now inaccessible, Theo had managed to persuade her to use his room for the time being until he got it fixed. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Eva had an inkling that he wouldn't do it any time soon. The idea gave her goosebumps as she glimpsed at the large black bed with silk sheets and then around the rest of the room.

The room which had no couch...

"..."

"Where are you going to sleep?" she asked, nervously looking up at him. Theo leaned against his door, crossing his veiny and tattooed arms over his chest as Eva unconsciously licked her lips.

"Next to you, of course," he stated as if it was obvious and that she was dumb to not know it.

Eva raised her brows as far up as they could go. "Oh really?"

"You can't do anything about it." the corners of his tempting lips lifted into a smirk and Eva suddenly felt like punching him. Hard. Extremely hard.

"I might push you to the ground in the middle of the night." she carelessly spoke, tilting her head to a side and tried not to let her surprise show as she watched his eyes darken to an inky shade of black.

"I might pull you down along with me," he said and Eva crossed her arms, mimicking his posture to show that she wasn't backing out of this game any time soon.

"Oh? And then what would you do when I wake up and try punching your face?" she asked with a straight face, the glimmer in his eyes provoking her to keep speaking and playing the game.

"I'll slide my hands up your arms, taking your wrists in my hands, pinning them above your head." he started speaking and approached her slowly as Eva cursed herself for picking a spot so near the bed. If she took a step back, her back would meet the mattress and that was not a position she wanted to be in at the moment.

"I see," she spoke, her eyes darting around for a spot of escape as her feet inched sideways. Her heart shot against her chest when she noticed him increasing his speed and in a second, he was in front of her. The familiar scent of sin, ash, and darkness engulfed her body as she let out a shaky breath and didn't dare raise her head.

She felt his fingers under her chin as he made her look up into his eyes which had purple sparks glittering in them. The sight made her catch her breath as she slowly breathed out, her chest heaving rapidly.

"Don't you want to know what happens next?" he asked, and no matter how badly Eva wanted to know, she pushed her curiosity down and shook her head side to side.

"I need words Birdie." and that nickname arrived back again. It infuriated her to endless limits as she parted her lips to say, "No, I don't want to."

Instead of seeing a disappointed look on his face, she tried her best to not let her shock show at the small smirk that now graced his features.

"So you're saying that you want my hands to pin you somewhere else?" Theo's hands slipped down her back and the goosebumps over her arms were enough proof that her body was getting affected by his touch.

"Hmm, your body seems to agree with me..." his lips approached her ear and Eva shivered from the contact. "Since when did you learn to lie, Birdie?"

She swallowed the ball of nervousness and tried her best not to stutter, "Maybe since I met you."

He chuckled, the laugh caressing her like dark silk. "Oh really? And what else did you learn from me?"

His hands gripped her hips as Theo pulled her flush body against his, his aura stroking her from top to bottom. "Perhaps you already know that after pinning your hands to the ground, I'll slowly caress every part of your body with my lips, cherishing each and every inch of your beautiful skin." Eva let out a small gasp when his lips touched her neck and she forgot everything. How the mirror had broken, how the sink had crashed at her touch. She could only feel his touch on her body, his heat wrapping her up in the same darkness that she always sensed around him.

It was a startling fact that she found her safe haven inside this Devil's darkness.

"Didn't we have t-to meet your friends?" she panted out and felt his lips hovering above hers. Her body defied her mind, leaving further into him as her hands clutched the fabric around his arms tightly in her grip.

"I think they can wait," he whispered, and Eva shook her head. Judging from his behavior, he was capable of making his friends wait too just because of her.

Because of her...

"But—" she started to interrupt again when a lazy smirk crossed his lips. He knew something he wasn't telling, she realized quickly enough. That's what that expression said. But Eva didn't get to probe. He distracted her with a hand on her face, his thumb dragging across her lips, frustratingly slow.
