While walking through the field with the afternoon sun blazing down with all its power, I pondered on what Henrietta had said. Leaving my human family had made everything fall apart. I had run away to keep them safe which had been the logical thing to do, yet here I was feeling unsure of my decision.
"Hey!" I heard Nia yell from the middle of the field. "You looking for me!?"
"Where's Edward!?" I yelled back.
"I don't know!"
"There's no need to meet up with you then," I mumbled under my breath.
"I heard that," she mumbled back as I remembered we were mythical creatures.
"Why were we even yelling if we could simply whisper and hear each other out in the first place?"
"Because it's fun to be human even if it was for a day," she whispered with a light chuckle.
