They got the message, and one of them sat up and said,
"Sir, the evaluation went well as expected."
"I can see that," Commander Xavier said. "Just give me a list."
The man tapped a button on his chair handle, and a holographic list of names appeared.
"This is more like it." Commander Xavier sat straight to have a proper view of the names.
The list showed the best performance on it.
Rayan Bolt's name came first, then 2 pure bloods before Ethan Hawk, who took the 4th position.
"Ethan hawk is supposed to be the closest to Rayan bolt," Instructor Wu Chen said, in a loud voice.
"Yes, he held his grand alone in facing that robot, so why is his name not there?" Commander Xavier faced the trainer who conducted the evaluation.
The trainer tried to look away. He tried to avoid the commander's gaze.
"Mr. Adam, don't keep me waiting." Commander Xavier's eyes weren't pretty.
The trainer, who had a stoic expression during the evaluation, now looked more scared than a scared cat.
"Sir, I did that because of his status."
"And what is the status?" Wu Chen already knew what Adam meant, but he wanted to hear it from his mouth.
"He has no influential backing, or comes from a pure-blood family--"
"So you're discriminating against him," Commander Xavier cut. "You know, I don't like discrimination."
"N-no, sir. I was just---"
"Shut up! You're scared of them, are you? "
"I.." Adam stammered. He didn't know what to say, and the faint killing intent coming from the commander didn't help at all.
"I admit I was scared of them." Mr. Adam hung his head low.
"I'll let this slide since you're valuable to us, but listen carefully." Commander Xavier leaned closer. "I don't want any more discrimination again. I value talents and strength, not their background or where they came from."
"Yes, sir, it won't happen again," Adam said, while bowing his head a little.
"Good, very good. Now quickly place Ethan's name close to Rayan's,"
The list changed, and this time, Ethan's name came second.
"Sir, what do we do with this list?" One of them said.
"Isn't it oblivious? We give them the best the academy can offer. These guys here. " Xavier pointed at the list. "They are humanity's next elite generation."
---
Ethan sat inside the crowded elite canteen alone with a plate of fried chicken breast.
The elite canteen had waiters and waitresses who moved around constantly with trays of food, making the whole place reek of that delicious food scent.
It looked strange, but the academy wanted to balance training and luxury for the elite students. It was the least they could do for their future weapons.
Ethan eats his food with good table manners that make the other elite students pale in comparison.
The Dragon's princes were taught table etiquette from when they started breastfeeding.
"Waiter!" Ethan called out.
"What can I do for you?" The female waitress smiled at Ethan, then winked at him seductively.
Ethan looked up and said, "a bottle of champagne."
"Oh, okay," the waitress said awkwardly before leaving.
"He didn't even look at me," she mumbled to herself.
The waitress brought the drink and shuffled away, trying not to further embarrass herself.
Ethan knocked the cover off the drink. Some hours ago, he would have been a dead man if that pulsating red crystal exploded.
He slowly poured the drink into the glass on the table.
He sipped slowly, savoring each drop. Although humans have evolved, there are some things that they have never let go of; these are their habits from the past.
"Hey, you mind if i sit with you?" A voice interrupted Ethan.
He lifted his gaze from his drink.
"No!" Ethan focused on his drink again.
"Hey, you're being rude."
Ethan looked at the student again. He pulled out black eyeglasses from his spatial ring and put them on.
The student raised an eyebrow.
After putting on the eyeglasses, Ethan stared at the student again.
[Eyes of Dragon activated]
Ethan's eyes glowed gold within his eyeglasses.
He said, "Go back and sit your butt down."
The student's eyes went dead, and he said, in a robotic voice, "Y-yes, master."
The student turned around to walkway.
"Wait!" Ethan said.
"Yes, master."
"You came here to beg for food, nothing else, understood?"
"Yes, master."
Ethan focused again on his drink.
He always craved to test that skill, but he never did because of the several cameras in place.
Only those with dragon eyes could use the eyes of the dragon, but they would need to stare at the target for at least some seconds before the skill could work, and it wouldn't work for a stronger opponent.
But Ethan, with the help of the system, can use it with just a command.
----
Ethan opened his dorm room door and walked in. He had plans for today. He needed to level up. But first, he opened the duel ranking.
Name Position
1. Rayan Bolt. 1.
2. Rex Turo. 2.
3 Kent Zuma. 3.
4 Rani shaku. 4.
5 Vile Valery. 5
6 Ethan Hawk. 6
7 Noah Gate 7.
8 Layla Rose. 8
9. Kai Boulder. 9.
10 Ileus V. 10.
Ethan smiled as he saw the familiar names on the list.
It made him wonder why they hadn't become elite.
Ethan stared at Noah's name. The latter was supposed to be an elite student by now, considering he had a high ability level and a killer ability.
Ethan knew that Noah was much stronger than he was, so he wondered why the academy hadn't made him an elite yet.
The same could be said for Ileus, who seemed mysterious to Ethan.
Ethan focused on his second agender. He needed to level up.
During these past weeks, Ethan had found out that the system didn't record the physical strength he gained from the war room, but he could feel himself getting stronger after every class.
He did some practice and confirmed this theory.
Either way, he opened his system and purchased the dragon channeling portion.
He sat down in a lotus position and started channeling the dragon gene.
Sometime later,
