Monday arrived in haste.
"Today, use this time period of our class to discuss your research progress together with your pair. I'll be leaving you guys here, I have matters to attend at the faculty. Please behave. "Miss Peralta said and walked out of the classroom.
With that, my classmates started disarranging their chairs to be able to face their partners. The classroom was filled with chattering noises. I can feel someone looking at me.
I know who it was.
I looked at Killian, who was looking at me. Maybe he's waiting for me to do something.
I looked around and saw the other students chatting, laughing, and gossiping. Some of them are just quietly doing what they are told to do. And I can see a few students going out.
I take my gaze back again at Killian, who still isn't moving from his seat, looking down at the book he was holding.
[sigh]
I stood up and started dragging my chair closer to his. And as expected, the classroom went slightly silent and there it is again, the heavy feeling of the crown staring at you.
'Hah, there it is again.'
I dragged my chair closer to Killian, who was now looking at me with his head down.
Every time I make a sound that my chair makes while dragging, the classroom becomes quieter and quieter.
I looked down at Killian before sitting down. With my keen senses, it is really annoying and disturbing that I can feel every eye that is on me right now. The feeling of a heavy and thick beam of energy that you can feel on your skin and mind.
I gritted my teeth in annoyance.
[sigh]
"What now?" I asked Killian.
He lifts his head and looks at me in the eyes.
I raised my eyebrows.
What is he looking at?
It's not that I am mad. In fact…
I-mean...
[sigh]
Nevermind.
"Let's start." I said.
He blinked multiple times slowly before turning to his back to scruffle at his bag, getting something, maybe a piece of paper and a pen.
I shifted my gaze to the window on my right side.
The open sliding window let the gentle spring breeze caress the white curtain, sway the withered leaves, and brush against my skin.
I saw Killian looking at me with my peripheral vision. I give him a side glance. I frowned when he suddenly looked at his notebook. I looked down to see that everything was set up.
I think he is ready to discuss it now.
I turned to face him.
"Let's start." I said.
"Ah-yeah." He smiled and looked down again at his notebook.
"Our topic is about…[discuss]…"
I'm just staring at him, even though all I can see is his hair because he's looking down at his notebook. If my hearing sense was not this sharp, I guess no one would be able to hear what he is saying.
"... the methods we are going to use... [discuss].." Even though his fluffy and curly brunette hair was so long that it almost covered his head from my view, his pink ears did not escape my eyes.
Why is he color changing so much?
"…we'll just use face to face survey…[discuss]….[discuss]…and-" He looked up at me for the first time in the ten minutes since he started discussing. But when he met my eyes, he quickly looked down again.
I frowned.
'Why is he acting like that? Still scared? ' I asked myself.
Every time our eyes met, he did that. It's not that I care, it's just…annoying.
He continued to discuss, I was just listening to him—well, while looking away at the window.
.
.
.
" Well, uhm- what do you think?" I heard Killian ask.
I turned my eyes towards him.
"Hmm, it's okay." I said.
I understand what he means and what he is discussing. I like his plan on how we are going to conduct our research.
less troublesome.
"Is it okay?" he asked.
"Yeah." I said.
We are just looking at each other. He looks dumbfounded while I stare blankly at him.
'What?'
He blinked multiple times and abruptly looked down at his notes and started writing... aggressively.
"A-ah! Yes, then please do the introduction while i-[chip] "he suddenly stopped and looked so confused.
I watched the lead pencil from his mechanical pencil break and fly away from him.
He looks so confused and shocked.
"What…" –Killian.
[smiles]
'Idiot.'

The morning class periods came to an end.
We are right now at the cafeteria. I had no plan to go here, but Kleir insisted.
We are sitting down at our usual spot, eating our meal. I have canned coffee and a sandwich. I was just listening to their topic. It's not like I have something to share anyway.
Quitely sipping my coffee, Agatha caught my attention.
"Say, Eloise…I heard you were seatmate with him. " She said while playing with the straw in her milkshake, looking at me.
"Who?" I asked, staring at my coffee can.
I know who he is talking to. But for some reason, I don't like how she said that.
"Well, you know... that freak." She said, in a 'matter-of-fact' tone.
I raise my gaze to her, straight to the eyes. I look at her expressionlessly.
"Freak?" I asked again, in a clueless tone.
I can see Kleir watching me from my peripheral vision. Well, she is just beside me, so it's pretty obvious.
"Arh! Killian! Who else? " She frustatedly said, She even rolled her eyes at me.
"Agatha, she is new here." Kleir said to Agatha.
Agatha just rolled her eyes at her.
"Oh..Killian…" I trailed off slowly, looking at the can of coffee on the table.
"Yes! Duh~" she said.
I look at her, still with my resting face.
"Yeah…why?" I asked seriously.
Agatha looked at me, confused.
"What do you mean, why? Haven't you heard? " Anasia butted in.
"He is a psychopath. Please be careful. " Bryce said.
I tilted my head and looked at him.
"Yes! Oh My Gosh, Kleir! Why didn't you tell her? What kind of frien-"
"She told me." I cut of Anasia.
I can see Kleir looking down.
Guilty.
She is not. What is wrong with them?
"WHAT?" Agatha and Anasia said in unison.
They look shocked and confused while I look at them blankly.
I don't like them right now.
"You knew, yet you are still seatmates with him-no, You are even paired for a project? " Anasia asked, leaning closer.
I frowned. How did they know.
I turned to Kleir. Did she told them?
"It's gossip. The entire school is talking about you. " Kleir said.
I returned my sight to my coffee that was in my hands.
Well, it's not like that is a secret. I just did not expect that a simple thing could be a big deal and would be a topic of campus gossip.
"Yeah, don't worry, it's fine." That's all I have to say.
I'm getting tired because of all their questions.
[sigh]
I rested my back on the backrest of the chair.
"Still-"
"Oh- Anasia! Agatha, look! The school page just posted! "The Black Orcas are going to start their basketball practice at the gym from today on." Kleir yelled out of nowhere.
"What- really? OH MY GOSH! " Anasia yelled.
"Are you for real?" Agatha asked.
[sigh]
Thanks to Kleir, I got out of their hot seat. I am starting to get pissed.
They started chatting about basketball, even Bryce, who had just started to join in. I have no intention of doing so, so I just look away and do not listen any more.
I am tired.
I notice a person walking in because I am sitting facing the cafeteria entrance. He is wearing a white hoodie.
'You will only have 10 minutes. He sure is late.' I thought.
Killian silently walked in, maybe trying his best not to get noticed. Why is he still going to have his break just now? Only ten minutes left before the break is over.
I just watched him order at the counter until he finished ordering. He was walking out with a paper bag in his arms when suddenly he crashed together with a student.
