"We're under attack!" boomed the voice from the walls.
Soon, drum-beats filled the air.
I looked to the direction.
"It's started already".
It was Gandalf.
"What started already?".
"The countdown, to the future".
"The future is now in your hands, boy. Be sure to choose the right path".
Gandalf turned his back to me.
"So long, pureblood. I shall be on my way now".
"No, you can't leave me. I can't possibly face them alone".
"Yes, you can. You're strongest of us. You also have Merlin here with you".
"You saw this coming. Can't you at least give me a tip?".
"The future isn't written in stone. Besides, what's the fun in that? It won't be an adventure anymore".
He let out a light chuckle.
He soon vanished into thin air.
I was left with Merlin.
"Who could have done this?" I asked as I searched frantically for the door.
"Who else?".
"According to the records, well..., nothing".
"The Shize Battle. Put two and two together".
"Is it... But why?".
"Well, time to find out".
He touched the wall with his stick.
It went right through.
"Jeez. You could've just told me".
"I don't need doors. You do".
He walked right through to the other side.
I quickly opened the door and entered.
It was the pathway to the cabinet-room.
I ran inside the room.
They were all preparing for battle.
I quickly found Sarah.
"What's happening?".
She quickly turned back to me.
"Ace, what are you doing here?".
"I heard the noise. What's going on?".
"Wolves!".
She emphasized on the syllable with every venom in her.
"Wolves, why? I thought there was a peace treaty?".
"Don't know. Such cowards to stab us in the back. On today of all days".
"Gather round!".
The commanding macho in the baritone stole the attention of everyone in the room.
It was the chief.
"The wolves have voided the treaty. But as a true people, we shall follow peace to the last. Are the doors locked?".
"Yes, Master".
"Master, why are we not fighting them? We could totally take them".
"We can't. Today's the feast. Without it,. we're weaker than before. And we could run wild like before".
"But, a crimson moon will appear tonight. Their powers will not also be to the fullest".
Murmurs of agreement began to fill the hall.
I then started to think twice.
'Why would the wolves attack when they also possess slim chances of victory?'.
'We just met their leader not long ago. He seemed nice. Why'd he wage war?'.
"It doesn't also sound right. Why?".
It was Merlin.
"Excuse me!".
Everyone looked towards my direction.
As if on cue, they all parted ways for me.
I walked towards the chief, nervous, to the moon and back.
I quickly climbed the little elevated platform in the room.
"Forgive me for interrupting. But, I have something important to say".
"Say it quick. We're running out of time".
"Isn't it odd that the wolves attack when they also possess slim chances of winning?".
Everyone started to look to each other, as if asking one another.
"I feel that this is rather an inner turmoil on the side of the wolves".
Soon, Becca entered into the room.
All eyes turned to the secret passage she used to enter.
In simple words, she didn't look good at all.
"Becca, what happened to you?".
"We were ambushed on our way back".
She took a long gasp. She seemed to be fatigued even for a vamp.
"We're running out of time now. If we don't feed, we'll run wild soon".
"Run wild? What do you mean?".
With a sad but firm voice, he answered.
"Without the feast, pureblood, we could return to our old ways".
A soothsayer needst not explain what that means.
"I think....!".
Soon, the ground started to quake intermittently.
"Chief! Chief!".
A guard soon ran inside the room.
Soon, he was before the chief.
"The doors..., the doors..., it won't hold much longer".
"Impossible! It was made with silver alloys. How could wolves possibly get near the door?".
He thought for a while.
"Did you see any golden-fur wolf?".
"No".
His brows creased with intense thinking.
"If their king isn't leading them, who is?".
AN UNKNOWN LOCATION
THIRD-PERSON POV:
A hooded man walks into the room.
He stands behind a man whose facials is not very candid.
"Is it done?".
"Aye!".
"And you're sure the pureblood is in there?".
"Aye!".
"Prepare for the next phase!".
The hooded man exits the room.
"What a perfect trap. The pureblood won't know what hit him".
He laughed maniacally for some seconds.
"Let the games begin!".
