Helping the King of plague and the baron of this stone city will be much harder then killing the king for both are stubborn idiots.
Well I got involved in a blood feud didn't I but I would rather solve this peacefully then with bloodshed. First I need to learn how this all started through the books in the castle and through the dragons words to find the actual truth.
I asked the guy beside me "So why has this feud began and when did it occur?"
He said "It is more of a mutual hatred because they both use the same resources to grow and the baron kidnapped it's egg to det one it's land but once the agreement was done he never gave the egg back to it's parent."
I facepalmed at this cause the baron seems to be dumber then a rock. I really just wanted to kill the baron but I knew I would probably fail the mission due to that so I planned to steal the egg and give it back to the dragon saying that king is sorry for his actions and has decided he was in the wrong.
I asked the system 'Do you have a storage feature?'
Yes I can now put my plan into action once I know the full history of these two since it's kinda obvious they hate one another. A small ding goes unheard as Kylog continues to think about his plan and how to get information. After a few minutes they arrive at the castle gate and hear a guard yell "Hemoi your father the baron wants to see you. Also please stop sneaking out with the guards you are gonna get me in trouble. Who's that?"
Hemoi yells back "Apparently he's a traveler from the realms"
The guard looks at me nods respectfully and opens the gate confusing me even more. I ask Hemoi "why does everyone treat me respectfully when they hear I come from another world or realm as you say?"
He responds carefully and hesitantly "It is because other worlds usually try to invade or help us almost always but there are a couple outliers so we end up being respectful so that they are more inclined to help."
"Thank you for being honest." I say as I Incline my head to him respectfully.
We continue walking through the very orderly city towards a.mansion In the middle and I keep hearing people talking to Hemoi and act as if he is their best friend. I think that all barons should help their people and I think that Hemoi has done so to get this reaction from the crowd.
I wonder if his father is the same way or not. We quickly arrive at an elegantly made metal gate with two guards on either side both wearing heavy armor. Hemoi talks with them a bit as I study the excellent craftsmanship on this gate. When he was done talking with them he came over started to pull me inside the mansion grounds. I quickly started to follow seeing trees growing with flowers surrounding each one bushes trimmed along the path.
It was basically a very ordered flower garden so I was still more interested in the runes beautifully carved into the gate that I could sense a flow of mana from. I know it was mana cause the system notified me that a strange energy called mana was detected on the gate and i could siphon it if I wanted.
I guess I will have to study it at this mansions library of I get the chance to. We entered the massive mansion front door I think. Hemoi lead me to a waiting room and suddenly after a minute a notification popped up but the door begun to open so I chose to close it for now.
I saw Hemoi and a man who I presume to be his father who looked exactly like him but older with white hair and wrinkles covering his face. I got up and bowed and said "Greetings to the baron and his son." He laughed at my actions and said "Sorry to keep you waiting. I hope you will enjoy your stay and I ask you to kill the dragon before it destroys my castle."
I ask "May I have access to a library so I may read the history of this land so that I may better understand the customs of this place."
He responded "You may but make sure to resolve the dragon issue within 4 days please. You will be rewarded if you do so."
~3 days later at night~
I got a lot of notifications these past few days but I didn't check them cause I was learning a lot about this world and it's problems but the problem here was both wanted to use an ancient site that increases learning of plague magic but didn't want to share it which was dumb since they both used it at different times from what I figured out.
Tonight I had snuck into the vault with the dragons egg and tried to store it in my system storage but got this message.
Fuck I am fucked.
