Chapter 5 - Talent

He woke up a few hours later, covered with a blanket, near a fire, Eden was sitting opposite him, on the other side of the fire. It seemed like Eden was thinking about something, as he didn't even notice, that he had woken up.

As he woke up he felt something different about him, and no it wasn't the magic circulation method, it had something to do with his memories.

"Ah yes I remember now... My name is."

"James"

He didn't know why, but he wasn't even sure whether or not that was his real name but, when he said it, he just felt it suited him, it just felt right when said.

All that he knew was that his name and his past were connected, but before he could go too deep into his thought he decided it was better for him to start practicing the mana circulation method and the mana breathing technique.

He sat down with his legs and started to circulate the mana through his body while breathing in the mana from the air.

He just sat there for hours doing it non-stop as he was doing it he could feel the mana in his body rising, and when he woke he had achieved becoming a half-step first circle mage.

By the time James had woken up, it was already the next day.

Eden, while eating a huge piece of meat that he got from god knows where asked how he was feeling. "I feel amazing, my whole body feels refreshed though I'm a bit hungry"

"No shit Dumbass, You've been sitting down in the same position for the past eight hours of course you'll be hungry"

After they both sat down to eat and rest Eden stood up and told him to get ready. James was confused as to why he had said that, Eden then touched his forehead with his finger as he did before.

And just as before James felt a wave of nausea wash over him as information flooded his head, he had lost contact with all his five senses, and for a brief second he had even forgotten how to breathe and was losing consciousness, the only difference between then and now was that he didn't faint.

As each of his senses slowly returned he heard.

"Huff Huff" James was panting after experiencing such a thing not only once but twice, he had no choice but to pant

After taking a breather he finally felt better, Eden then continued,

"Until we get to our destination I will be helping you polish the skill I just transferred into your brain, as you already don't have much talent for magic so it will be much harder for you to reach the peak of those skills, so from now on even if you walking, pissing, of pooping the mana breathing technique must be in use, the mana running through your body is much smaller than it should be for someone your age, so you have the extra time needed to build up in the mana your lacking, so you need to be able to unconsciously use the breathing technique so your mana can be built up at all times, plus if your success in being able to do it unconsciously whenever your mana is used up from using magic you will be able to refill your mana pool without, many days of rest. So your goal is to be able to unconsciously use the mana breathing technique before we arrive at our destination"

After carefully listening to Eden's explanations, James began to practice the mana breathing technique, and every two hours he would stop and start to circulate the mana flowing around in his mana pool, he does this so that his mana pool won't burst from to much mana, so he uses the mana circulation method to control the mana in his mana pool, in a way that slowly expands the mana pool so he can contain more mana, although because of his lack for talent in magic, at a certain point in time as he continues to train his mana, his mana pool will reach its limit and won't be able to expand anymore.

( A mana pool or core is located below the bowl without a mana pool a person can't practice the arts of magic and even if they didn't practice the art their future growth will be limited to a mana pool, every person is born with one, it can also be destroyed)

So for the next few days James continued to train his mana non-stop, with the same method until they had reached their destination, he continuously practiced the mana breathing technique and stopped every two hours to circulate the mana in his mana pool, and to strengthen his mana core or pool, so hi mana pool doesn't burst.

He also used the time to practice and master the magic skill, Eden had taught him. After three days James and Eden were finally about to reach their destination, all they had to do was get to the other side of a cave, and by now James can use a magic bullet nothing less than a hundred times, he is also able to use body enhancement for three hours straight non-stop, and can use inferno twice.

As they got to the entrance of the cave Eden stopped and began saying, "knowing your level you haven't been able to see the levels of any monster we've passed so far that's because all the monsters so far were at least fifty levels higher than you, that lizard that attacked you was level seventy, and although it had felt as if you were doing damage to it you weren't because of the huge level difference at most you took about six percent of its health when you were attacking it and that is only because you caught it off guard if it wasn't it would have killed and dismantled you faster than I could arrive there. And now the monster in this cave is about level 170, and you're going to fight it."

James was completely shocked by the words that came out of Eden's mouth, he could barely face off against an opponent at level seventy and he wants him to fight an opponent at level 170. James had then responded;

"That impossible how in hells name am I supposed to beat a beast at that level he is more than triple my current level" Eden then responded;

"Your job isn't to beat it, but to show that all the training you have done so far meant something you must be able to grant at least five percent damage to it and if you are not able to do that ill destroy your magic core and leave you for dead"

After what Eden had said to you James was more terrified than he had ever been, but even more than that he wanted to live, he wanted to grow stronger than he could ever imagine, so he knew that he only has one option, and one option alone, he had to fight and survive.

As they entered the cave everywhere turned dark, it was as if darkness had swallowed them whole, but as they ventured deeper soon the cave was filled with all kinds of sparkling lights, it looked completely beautiful, like they had entered a completely different plain of existence, Eden chuckled, as he was hearing what was going through James mind he then said; "Close but where we are going you could think of this cave as the direct entrance to it" James was completely confused by Eden's words, Eden continued, "You don't understand now but you will soon if you manage to survive that is"

They continued to go deeper James could feel it, death was lurking very close to them, he could feel, no he could see his death, at that moment he knew more than anything else that he need to survive, he needed to run.
