He needed to run but he couldn't, his body couldn't move and his thirst for survival overcame, his fear, so as fast as he could he jumped out of the way as fast as he can, and summoned the sword given to him by Eden, "Eden" James had shouted looking around.
Eden had completely disappeared, to the point where his presence couldn't be felt at all. But before James could think too deep about it, the spider attacked swiftly with one of its legs, James quickly activated the body enhancement magic skill and his sword to block the attack, but of course, that wasn't enough for a monster, that is more than double his Level, he flew, at least fifty meter into a wall, as his body collided with it he could feel almost every bone in his body break, as he coughed up blood excruciating pain ran through every part of his body, and he could barely breathe, the spider monster attacked again but this due to body enhancement he was able to dodge.
James dived to the left and drank the high-grade healing potion(also given to him by Eden), which restored his full health. The monster then attacked again, but due to the skill "Evade" and "Haste", he was able to continuously dodge its attacks.
Whilst doing so James continued to look for any openings to attack, that could help him win, but no matter how hard he tried, couldn't find any, and he couldn't just keep being on the defensive because his mana would completely run out soon, so he needed to find an opening as soon as possible.
Unfortunately because of the monster's relentless attacks, he couldn't find one, so the only option left for him was to create one.
As the monster struck towards his right, he activated Haste and focused most of the mana from his body enhancement into his legs and dashed towards the far right, he then concentrated his mana into his index and middle finger, and shot it out with full power, the monster then dodged to the left where he used his other hand which to shoot out a mana bullet more than twice as strong as the one before.
This time the "mana bullet" successfully hit its target, although doing little to no harm, the bullet still completed its mission of pushing it back, just because the other bullet missed the spider doesn't mean it missed the target.
The first magic bullet's target was a spike, that was on the ceiling of the cave which was on the left side of the cave. The bullet aimed to weaken it, and as he shot another magic bullet with twice the power, the spider oblivious how exactly how strong the bullet was, will unknowingly get pushed and bump into the wall where the pillar will directly fall unto its head.
But, by a stroke of luck, it wasn't only the pillar that came crashing down, huge chunks of rocks came crashing down with it, and it all fell directly on the monster, thus limiting its movements.
While the monster thrashed and crashed around trying to get out of the rubble, James knew that if he wanted to win then he will have to go on the offensive now, because he doubts that he will ever get an opportunity like this again.
James then ran up to the spider(monster) and started to bombard it with both magical, and physical attacks.
First, he struck as hard as he possibly could with his sword, while using beginners swordsmanship, he then unleashed a herd of magic bullets unto its head, and then with all the mana he clusters together unleashed inferno, and while doing all this he noticed that because of Eden's "Mana breathing" technique his mana was quickly recovering, all his used up "Mana", so although it was weaker than it should be he was able to maintain His body enhancement spell.
Unfortunately because of the amount of magic power he used with inferno he was he barely had enough magic power in his body to stay conscious, furthermore, he still hadn't reached his goal of dealing five percent damage to the monster, at most he had only dealt up to two percent, because of its level James magic was almost no use against, the only thing that could work was physical damage, but the monster Unfortunately had a special ability the allows it, absorb the density of any object, and apply it to its outer shell, and while is doing that it is unable to move or else, it will get internal damage.
During that time limit James drank the "Mana restoration potion"(given to him by Eden) and started to attack again, he activated "Body enhancement" and went to attack again but this time he attacked the spot that was open after the spike, on the wall came crashing down.
He hit the spider with multiple magic bullets, and then he activated "Haste", "Evade" and "Beginners swordsmanship", and with all the strength and mana he could muster together in his body, he concentrated it on the sword and swung, with all his strength, unfortunately for him, the monster, seemed to have absorbed the density of the object faster than he thought, so it regained its movement and managed to dodge just in time.
As he swung the sword and missed a huge wave of power came out of it. the energy from the sword completely cut down, all the boulders in its way.
When the spider(monster) dodged in that split second James had thought to himself, "How did it dodge the sword should have cut right through he was unguarded and weakened... Wait, but no what I should be thinking about, is not "how" he dodged but why. If he dodged instead of just taking it like all the other attacks it means that the cut just now potentially had enough power to hurt it... right now the most likely place for it to land is behind me, immediately its legs touch the ground Ill strike that way it wouldn't have enough time to dodge, furthermore if I mess this up, it will be impossible for me to catch it unguarded again this... this is my only chance to survive, and WIN!"
The spider then landed behind him, and although much weaker than the previous attack, with "Beginners Swordsmanship", "Haste", "Evade", and "Body Enhancement" still on, he swung the sword again, the only difference this time is that, unlike last time, the monster was so close to him that it didn't have enough time to dodge it, as it was caught unguarded, it may not have had enough time to dodge but it sure as hell had enough time to block, the attack.
As the spider blocked the attack it flew to the other end of the cave, Immediately after that it became a full-on battle, after that attack, James had already taken more than enough of the monster's health but and Eden Knew that but for some reason, he didn't stop.
As the fight continued the both of them exchanged attacks, James will strike with his sword, and the monster blocked, while all of this was going on James didn't notice that he was going through a change, he was already so strong that, if he went to the tenth floor of the tower he will be able to clear it within a breaths time, during that fight James was slowly, but surely Evolving, he was becoming something, different something stronger, and it was only during this fight that Eden had truly seen James talents sparkling.
As the battle went on James continued to learn the monster's attack pattern, and slowly learned to dodge the ones that were too strong for him to block and parry or counter attack the weaker attacks, after about two minutes of stalemate James began taking the upper hand for some strange reason he was able to see the different ways he could kill the monster, he was able to see its weak points, and exactly the way he should attack it if he wanted to win the battle, at a point James didn't even feel like he was the one attacking any more; "it should be impossible for me to even be awake right now, that slash I used earlier, should have completely drained me for all, I should be unconscious right now, but not only am I standing I'm also stronger than I have ever been, plus right now, "Body Enhancement", "Evade", and "Haste" are still activated I should be out of both stamina and mana by now but I am not."
James was in deep thought while fighting the spider his mind completely flooded with all kinds of things, at that point it wasn't even him that was fighting any more, yes his body may have been moving but his mind wasn't there at all it was like he was in, Auto battle, and unfortunately, it wasn't until the fight was over that he realized this
