Chapter 13 - Lunch

The hallways were made of the same material as Professor Reemar's classroom; white marble floors, white brick walls, and tiled ceiling.

It took around 10 minutes to make it through the long and labyrinth-like corridors of the school to get to the lunch room.

The hallways closer to Professor Reemar's classroom were desolate, but as I got closer to the lunch room I started joining many other students. When I was just a hallway away from the lunch room I couldn't even extend my hand out around me because there were so many other students on all sides. We all patiently piled into the lunch room through the doorways that served as a bottleneck.

When I finally got into the lunchroom I was met with a room that looked identical to the auditorium, except there were many tables and chairs on the floor of the lunchroom.

Many students were already seated and ordering their lunch.

If I were attending a lower class school I would have had to wait in line and get my lunch from older players with the Chef subclass, but because this is the Royal Academy, the most prestigious academy on our planet, the students here can just order from their seats.

I thought it would be hard to find my younger twin siblings, but surprisingly I found them instantly.

They were sitting at a table relatively close to the door with a bunch of other students sitting there with them.

I made my way over to the empty seat in front of the twins and was about to sit down but right before I could, another student took the seat while giving me a glare. She gave me a death stare that made it obvious, to both me and my siblings who saw the encounter, what her intentions were.

"You think you can sit in front of the Prince and Princess of our world, you loser?" She asked with venom laced in her words.

I may be the son of a King, but I am still a pacifist who avoids all confrontation as long as it's possible, so I ignored her and went to the other side of the table to sit beside Penny.

"Hey Pen, hey Seb." I greeted them as I sat down.

"Sup." Seban said.

"Hey." Penny responded with a smile.

The girl who originally took my seat looked at me with even more disgust after my siblings responded to my greeting.

I quickly realized what was going on but there wasn't much I could do about it. Somehow the girl must have figured out their identities but didn't know of mine.

I leaned over to Penny and whispered, "How did she figure it out?".

"They all did. I think it's because we look just like mom." She whispered back.

The school had rules in place against sharing your identity, but if someone figured it out on their own then no one would be punished. The only time the twins would be punished is if they used the knowledge that they were prince and princess of the world of Vendar against someone in the school.

I couldn't understand how the girl knew that Penny and Seban were prince and princess because of their resemblance to my mother, but couldn't tell who I was.

I frowned as I thought more of it.

I look like the spitting image of my father, so how did she not know who I was as well?

I leaned back over to Penny.

"How does she not know who I am? I look JUST like dad."

Penny looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping other than the rude girl in front of us.

"Dad uses a hidden identity item in VR to change the color of his hair and some other things, remember?"

I facepalmed. I completely forgot about the hidden identity item dad used.

I could tell this would pose a big problem for the rest of our stay at the academy. Most of the noble kids whose parents were in higher up positions would most likely get found out by the other kids. This was a problem because of how stubborn, entitled, condescending, etc. noble children could be. This is the reason I never made friends outside of my family, I just never really liked any of the noble kids we were forced to interact with by my parents.

The other problem was that these entitled brats would not be able to recognize that I was a prince as well and no one, including myself, would be able to tell them that I was.

I could only sigh in my heart about the conflicts I knew I would get into in the near future.

Speaking of entitled brats, the one sitting in front of me obviously could no longer hold in her anger.

"Why are you two hanging out with this lowlife?!" She shouted.

Penny quickly leaned over to whisper something in my ear again.

"That's the daughter of one of mom's retainers." She informed me.

This explained why she had a problem with me. She felt that one of the princes and princesses of our planet was giving some lower class noble more attention than someone like her.

"Cause we want to, no go mind your own business Vanessa." Seban told her off.

The bad part of this was that they couldn't even say something like, "Because he is our brother", because that would be breaking the rules about exposing identities in the school.

"Hmph!" She let out a sound of indignation and stormed off.

Some of the other noble children sitting at the table saw the interaction, and were giving me less than kind looks.

If stares could kill, I would have been murdered in broad daylight over 100 times by now.

"Sigh." This time I sighed out loud.

I turned to look at the table before tapping it twice to bring up the food menu. I ordered a burger, some fries, and water. My food instantly appeared in front of me once I pressed the order button. The twins then ordered their food as well and we all got to eating our meals.
