Chapter 1 - A New Era

A new era began for the humans when Mana finally reached earth. The first few human mages appeared, they were the first humans to ever grasp the concept of magic. They developed and cultivated Mana which enabled them to gain great magical powers and this was a huge step in humanity's quest for advanced evolution.

Scientists began to make more research on Mana which they believed to be the next huge step in science evolution. Humans were excited at the prospect of gaining magical abilities and this led to war between the world's great countries.

It was at this moment of disunity between the humans that the unexpected happened. Animals, plants, insects and new forms of life got mutated, Plants evolved into having consciousness and the minds of the animals got corrupted, they turned to beasts, dark evil creatures, bloodthirsty monsters, preying on humans.

The human civilization was deemed to fall, but the first few mages came to the rescue and fought back against the great horde of beasts.

The war between the humans and the monsters is known as the great apocalyptic war.

With the help of the military, the first mages were able to save humanity from possible sudden extinction. As time goes by, the monsters were able to evolve, they became more fierce, gruesome and more powerful. The military couldn't dealt much damage to them anymore, only the human mages were able to threaten them with their elemental magic.

This prompted the first few mages to create Mage academies. Many more great mages emerged from these academies and the war between humanity and the monsters got balanced. As time goes by, the human mages began to attack the monsters nest which greatly turned the table of the war in humanity's favour.

The first mages being knowned as the Primordials discovered that monster's mana crystals could be used to create magical equipments and weapons. They also discovered that they could absolve the Mana crystals which helped them to be more powerful. These discoveries boosted humanity's chances of winning the war.

Victory was in the sight of the humans, the monsters seemed to have met their doom. But the unexpected happened, massive hordes of monsters showed out of nowhere and began to attack the world in different places. Humans were shocked greatly as they had thought the victory was going to be theirs.

Humans fought back and pushed back the hordes of monsters but they suffered great losses on their side. Half of the human population were killed by the monsters in the war.

The humans feared the monsters might attack again but that was the last known attack of the monsters, they completely disappeared without trace. This increased the uneasiness of the humans prompting the Primordials to build more Mage academies.

Teenagers and young adults were sent to the mage academies. More mages emerged from the academies as a precaution against the monsters sudden attack, but the monsters never showed up. The humans didn't know the reason why the monsters left but they never stopped sending their children to the academies.

The humans rebuilt and reinforced their fallen cities. The military recruited mages in to the army to increase their strength. Mages started to hold great positions of power under the supervision of the Primordials.

The Primordials were four in number and they upheld the highest position of power among the humans, they were the most powerful Mages.

They controlled the new system of the world's organization.

The First Primordial among the four who was also the first ever human mage was a man named Valentine Carew.

The second primordial was a woman called Heather Parker.

The third primordial was also a man named Lysander Daniels

The fourth primordial also happened to be a man. He was named Jackson Dean.

Valentine Carew is the most powerful among the Primordials and he's the master of the Fire and Lightning elements.

Lysander Daniels followed as the second most powerful. Known as the master of Earth element.

The next on the list was Heather Parker. She was widely known as the Ice and water goddess, wielding the ice and water elements.

The least powerful among the Primordials but also known as the short tempered one was Jackson Dean. He was the master of the Shadow and wind elements.

These four Primordials were also known as the four major family forces of the Earth. The family forces were named after them. The Carew family, the Daniels family, the Parker family and the Dean family.

Each family force has a crest to represent their names. The Carew family's crest was the shape of lightning bolt with the image of a burning red furnace engraved on it.

The Daniels family's crest was simply the shape of a rock and it had brown colour.

As for the Parker family's crest, it had the shape of an ice flake, it was whitish in colour.

The Dean family's crest was a bit spooky as it has the image of a demon engraved on a triangular shape, black in colour.

The Primodials all decided to go into seclusion to cultivate to strengthen their magical powers. Valentine Carew appointed his first child, Edward Carew, one of the most powerful mages on Earth to wield his position and power as the leader of the Carew family till he would be back from seclusion.

Lysander Daniels appointed his wife, Helen Daniels, to wield his position,

Heather Parker appointed her most trusted personal disciple, Ivy Mason, to be in her place while Jackson Dean's eldest son, Peterson Dean, took his father's place as well.

After appointing the capable ones, worried that something unexpected might happen while they were in seclusion, the Primordials held a meeting together with the appointed ones.

They told the interim leaders of their plan to infuse one fourth of their powers in to an orb. If something unexpected happens and it was beyond the interim leaders abilities to control, they should take the orb and share the power in it equally. This would increase their powers greatly.

This Primordials all infused one fourth of their powers in to the orb making the orb the most precious and the most important magical item in all of Earth. The orb was kept secret from the rest of the world. Only the Primordials and the interim leaders knew about it.

The Primordials made them swore an oath to use the powers of the orb only in time of emergency that is beyond their abilities.

After ensuring their positions are in capable and trustworthy hands, the Primordials left for their secluded cultivation.

Few years after the Primordials left for their secluded cultivation, the magical orb mysteriously went missing and this made the interim leaders send their subordinates to search for every corner of the Earth. The search went on for a few years but they still couldn't find it.

Then one day, the interim leaders got a clue of where the orb could be found.
