Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"You're my husband," she says, eyes downcasted.

"But I don't remember-"

"When transformed vampires are made, the 'master' vampire is able to determine what type of vampire they want. When i made you into a vampire, I wanted you to be my husband, my Dear."

"Is that why I feel safe when I'm with you? is that why I'm a noble?!"

"You were made a noble all on your own, the only thing I can determineis what i wany you to be, not how strong you become. And the bind that we share, that is made through the transformation can cuse you to think different of me, so that feeling you have could be that," she confirms.

Questions swarm my mind, unanswered. I don' know what to think, so i decide to not thinl about it now and to just learn instead. It seems like it'll be a long time before we reach our destination, so I rest my mind and try to relax. Nothing to do but to look out the window as the scenery changes. With my new vision, it's like everything is in slow motion, but the scene i would've forgot, is vivid in my mind's eye.

Everything is changing, and i don't know if i like it.

'That's normal, but you'll have to adapt, if you want to survive, that is Dear.'

Looking at Katherine, she's looking out the window, legs crossed, leavign nothing to the imagination, with the short black dress on.

'Like what you see?'

Most definitely.

Katherine ears blush a bright red, but her face doesn't change. A goddess if you ask me. Silas groans, moving around, but doesn't wake up. The cool air blows against my skin, kissing me softly. Leaning back, I rest my eyes, listening tothe sounds that surround me, until sleep again greets me, holding me tight in her arms.

'Sleep, Dear. It's a long way home.'

It could've been my imagination, but i could've sworn Katherine muttered," Those bitches will not take you from me."But i won't know since my mind drifts off, darkness greeting me.

Hours have passed, and half way through, Silas wole up. With the mental rollercoaster I've been on, fatigue weighs on me, but I fight against it. Instead, I make sure Silas it alright, I mean this must be harsh on the little guy. In the spand of two days, he almost dies, gets turned into a vampire, and is now surrounded by people he doesn't know.

"How you doing bud?"

"I'm okay, d-dad," he looks up at me, hesistantly.

I assure him," You don't have to call me 'dad' if it makes you uncomfortable."

"I-it's not that. I thought you would be mad."

"Silas, I can never be mad with you. You are my son, and already i love you, dearly."

Silas smiles brightly at me, eyes showing hope.

"Never feel like you cannot tell me something. I will always be here for you," I assure, but the moment can't stay like that.

The man driving scoffs, muttering,"Bold words for a newborn."

A human wouldn't have heard him, but I'm not human. turning towards him, I glare," Newborn or not, I'll tear out your throat."

"My Dear has a backbone," Katherine smirks, licking her lips. "Vick, another word to my Dear, and i'll kill you, myself."

The look she gives him, makes the man gulp, fear radiating from him.

"Now that it's on my mind, how come, I'm not rampaging for blood when I'm around humans? Silas too," I wonder.

"As someone who has turned you, it's only right that I be connected to you. Through this bond, I am able to take away your bloodthirst, and through your bond with Silas, I can also take his as well, however it's a it more difficult. Since I didn't directly turn him."

"So you're holding onto nor one, but three different levels of bloodthirst, with two for sure being high?"

"Well when you put it that way-" she runs off, her ears a bright red. " I'm able to handle it, However, you would not be able to, and it's against our laws for newborn vampires to rampage in the world."

Accepting this, I nod.

Time slowly, but it's not long before we drive off the main road and into the forest. In the distance, a tall house can be seen, but it does not do the castle justice. Entering into the gates, I am amazed by this small city.

The dark night gives the city a majestic glow, with the lights dazzling all around. It looks like this city never sleeps, hidden deep within the forest. Tall buildings peek out from the tree tops, and the smell of fresh food and sweet drink drift in the air, scenting my nose.

"Welcome to my home, the De Clare residence," Katherine announces to me and Silas, now awakened.
