After arriving at the mansion a short while ago, Jessie lingered in front of the mirror. As she raised her clothes, she put her hand on her stomach to check if she really did have something inside of her. A child? She shook her head. There was no way that she could carry a child inside of her.
Sierra hadn't yet arrived at the house when she got there. Jessie felt relieved that Sierra wouldn't notice her pale face and force her to discuss her problems.
Suddenly, her phone began to ring. Jessie reached out and grabbed it. She said, "Hello, mom." She made a valiant effort to keep her frail voice under wraps. As soon as she arrived at the house, she started crying uncontrollably.
"Jessie. Are you all right?" Her mom asked. "You haven't been taking my calls. Jessie, I've been calling for weeks. I'm glad it worked today because I couldn't get your phone to connect before. Are you okay?"
