Jessie buried her nose in the chicken bag and took a deep breath. "Oh my, this smells so good." At Din, she raised her head.
"Do you like it?"
"Like it? I love it. Thank you, thank you." She was so thrilled that she dropped the chicken on the table and sped over to Din to give him a bear hug, but he stopped her right there.
"I can see that."
Jessie sat back down and once more picked up the bag. "I really missed this. I've been incredibly hungry," she said, in a mouthful. Din laughed as he observed her eating so voraciously.
She was so cute while eating, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. He grinned even wider because she wasn't behaving perfectly in his presence.
For the second time, Jessie felt at ease in front of the man she had previously believed she detested, and for the first time, she didn't feel as though she needed to be flawless. In contrast to her time with Marco Anderson, she could be herself here.
