Din's phone rang and Jessie's phone number Illuminated on his screen, as he had expected. Before picking up, he smirked. "The deal is still on."
"I appreciate it." Her fading voice declared. Din understood her voice in the way she spoke. It seemed as if she had been drenched.
"Are you doing okay?" He inquired. He didn't care, yet he would have asked any person the same question.
"Yes. I am, indeed." Over the phone, Jessie did her hardest not to sound creepy or pathetic.
"Okay. I'll come get you by tomorrow. Prepare yourself before six o'clock." Before she could say anything else, he abruptly hung up the phone.
He put his phone on his nightstand and looked out the window. He didn't realize it was raining until he checked. What if the rain drenched her? He pondered, then brushed the idea from his mind. He can't possibly have a weak spot for her. He was supposed to despise her, and he intended to do so.
