Liang smiled widely and clapped his hands as soon as Suyin finished her speech. The woman quickly walked down the stage, causing Liang to follow her.
He walked a little faster, following Suyin's phase as the woman smiled at him a little.
"Who are you with?"
"It's my friend."
Suyin said, not disclosing anything to Liang. They quickly reached Suyin and Meixiu's table, and the taller woman stood up to greet Liang.
"Ms. Song, this is Pan Liang, one of the Pan family's successors."
Liang smiled towards Meixiu; his upper body bowed a little as Meixiu's lips smiled and nodded.
The man's eyebrows furrowed at the woman's action. Meixiu's eyes went towards Suyin as the smaller woman smiled and nodded.
Meixiu grabbed the chair and pulled it out of the table. Suyin quickly went toward the chair and sat down.
Meixiu pushed the chair slightly and nodded towards Liang yet again as she took her seat beside Suyin.
Liang couldn't help but feel a little disrespected by Meixiu's action. He quickly took a seat beside Suyin as the lights turned off again.
The first auction collection from the Pan family was live on stage. The person speaking behind the microphone pointed at the collection.
"This is one of the precious purchases the Pan family bought last year. This is an ancient vase that the Ming Dynasty used inside their palaces."
The woman continued to speak as everyone in the room was amazed at how beautiful and shiny the vase still was.
Including Suyin.
Liang couldn't help but chuckle to himself upon seeing the amazement in Suyin's eyes. He quickly leans in and whispers in her ears.
"I bought that vase for a cheap price, but the value has gone up since!"
Suyin listened attentively to what Liang said. Her eyebrows furrowed at what the man said.
Is this vase that crazy?
Her eyes glance towards Meixiu, seeing the taller woman's blank eyes staring at the vase on the podium with her eyebrows continuing to furrow.
Liang couldn't help but feel a little anger rise from his chest at Suyin's ignorance.
His eyes went toward the woman beside the younger mistress of the Jia family, seeing as Meixiu's eyes slowly gazed toward Suyin.
"Not worth it."
Suyin smiles and nods; her back leans towards the chair before listening closely to the bidders.
"100,000 yuan!"
"120,000 yuan!"
"How could she say that? Suyin, I was the one who bought that and could see its worth!"
Liang complained, his eyes glaring towards Meixiu, as the woman didn't mind the commotion beside her.
She listened closely to the bidders and couldn't help but laugh at them at how stupid people are for trusting someone with money.
"560,000 yuan, sold!"
The woman hit the small circular board on the table, making a loud noise around the hall. The man who got the vase celebrated, while the others could only clap in despair.
Suyin claps lightly, her smile widening as she congratulates the man who got the vase. Liang smiled at the man before glaring back towards Meixiu.
-
"Not worth it."
"Trash."
"Decreasing in value."
"The collector didn't have any eyes and couldn't distinguish a single valuable antique."
Liang couldn't help but feel the fire inside his chest rising. Every word Meixiu releases stab their respectful Pan family.
His eyes, which had been glaring at Meixiu, continued to put fire in the woman, yet she seems to not care.
He felt bitter because every time he said something, Suyin would lean towards Meixiu and ask the woman's permission.
"We're now down to 3 items left."
The Pan family decided to auction 15 items, and now it's down to 3. The people around couldn't help but look at the young mistress of the Jia family.
Is this the new tactic that the family is using?
One person couldn't help but stand up, causing the announcer to stop what she was supposed to say.
"Ms. Jia, you haven't been bidding anything."
He spoke, causing everyone to shout in agreement. Liang looked towards the woman and saw her smiling.
Suyin stands up from her chair. She waves at them to quiet down before she takes the stage.
"All of the auctioned items have been in the Jia family's possession."
The people sigh in relief at her statement. They thanked Suyin for her honest answer as well as how she let them take all the said items.
Liang couldn't help but smile and nod before his eyes went towards the woman on Suyin's right side and he saw her looking at the approaching item.
He couldn't help but smirk upon seeing how the woman's mouth circled in amazement.
This was one of his best purchases at an auction way back two years ago.
He manages to grab the item for a reasonable price of 800,000 yuan, and now he has decided to let go and auction his best possession.
It's an ancient wooden table that the king of the Yuan Dynasty used for every meal he had.
Suyin sat back down on her chair, and Liang was about to lean in and whisper some other details about how he acquired the table when Meixiu beat him to it.
"Buy it."
Two words, but a powerful order from Suyin. She flinches and nods, raising her hands and saying the price.
"1 million yuan."
"1.2 million yuan!"
"1.3 million yuan!"
Almost as if Suyin wanted to grab a hold of the wooden table, everyone in the room went berserk at her participation.
"3 million yuan!"
Suyin said, causing everyone to cheer and clap at her success. It's not like they have any more budget to match Suyin's offer.
The woman smiled and stood up from the chair. She looked towards Meixiu and invited her.
Liang's fist balled in anger, but he stood up as well to guide Suyin towards the stage.
"Suyin, this is the wooden table that the King of the Yuan Dynasty used in every meal he got."
Suyin and Meixiu observe the table bit. Meixiu could only laugh loudly, causing everyone around to look upfront.
"Suyin, this table is one of the decorations of the Shang Dynasty. It's worth a couple of millions today."
Suyin's ears perked up at what Meixiu said. She went towards the taller woman as she asked if it was true.
Liang couldn't help but scoff, and his arms crossed on his chest.
"That's not true, Suyin. This table is from the Yuan Dynasty; why would you believe someone as rubbish as her?"
"Ms. Jia, Mr. Pan is right! That is the table from the Yuan Dynasty!"
One person in the crowd said this, causing everyone to agree with him and Liang. Suyin looked at the crowd and saw them pointing towards Meixiu before her gaze went towards the taller woman.
Meixiu could only shrug her shoulders and dare not say anything. She didn't want to desperately help Suyin like she did in the Xia family, which went down the drain.
Yet Suyin is a smart woman.
She knows how well Meixiu can distinguish the antique, so she decided to ask her.
"Ms. Song, is there anyway you could point out how it can be from the Shang Dynasty?"
Meixiu smiled at her smart decision. She decided to wave her hand as if wanting Suyin to follow her towards the table.
"This was written in ancient Chinese with bronze mechanisms that greatly correlate with the Shang Dynasty. This pattern is known as Pan Geng's symbol, which also correlates with the Shang Dynasty."
