"Do you want to return to your school right now?" Lucifer asked.
Augustus had totally forgotten about returning to school. "Do you have your holopad with you right now?" he asked.
"Yes," Lucifer replies, taking his holopad out of his pocket. "Here you go." He hands it over to him.
"Thank you," Augustus said, collecting the holopad from Lucifer.
There was no password on it. Augustus searched for the phone icon to make a phone call. He sees the message icon. There were about three hundred and forty-five unread messages.
"You have over three hundred unread messages," Augustus said.
"I know," Lucifer replies, looking over his shoulder. "They are my former weapon dealers and father, dearest," he said nonchalantly.
"Okay," Augustus said. He goes ahead to look for the phone icon, and when he finds it, he sees Lucifer has over fifty missed call notifications.
"Do you want me to help you block these people's numbers?" he asked.
"No," Lucifer replies. "Not yet," he said. "I like talking to them when I need someone to piss off when I'm bored."
Augustus shook his head. He didn't know if he should be amused or disappointed by this. He dialed a number and proceeded to make the call.
"Who's this?" he heard at the other end of the phone.
"It's me," Augustus replies coldly to the person he was speaking to.
"Your Highness," the person at the other end of the phone says, clearing his throat. "I heard something happened to your fiance. Is he okay now?"
"Yes, he's fine for now," he said. "I'll be returning to school tomorrow morning. I need to fix a few things before I come back. Is that alright?"
"Yes. Of course, Your Highness," the man at the other end of the phone said.
Auustus then ended the phone call and handed the phone back to Lucifer. "You are staying the night?" Lucifer asks as he collects the phone.
"Yes," Augustus replies, and Lucifer has a wide smile on his face.
"Great!" he said happily. "I'll tell Rosetta to prepare a feast, we need to fatten you up before you return to school tomorrow!"
"Whatever you say," Augustus replies.
Lucifer decided to look at the messages he had ignored before. And indeed, many of them were from weapon dealers in the black market sending blackmail threats to him, his father calling him an ungrateful child, a few insults, and then begging to see him.
They all bored him.
He then saw a message from an unknown contact. 'Who's this?" he thought in wonder. He decided to check the messages coming from whoever this person was.
'Phoenix, how are you?'
'Hope Alice didn't bother you too much when she came to visit.'
'This is Isabella, Augustus' mom, by the way, just letting you know.'
'Oh, the Empress,' Lucifer thought blankly. Then he realized that, because he doesn't always check his messages, the Empress texted him yesterday and he didn't know.
'Oh sh*t,' he thought as he continued to read the messages.
'I wanted to ask if you could come over to the palace this weekend. Ace, Aussy's older brother's fiance, had just returned to the Capital Planet yesterday, and I want to formally introduce you two. I also want us to hang out.'
'Are you sleeping? You didn't respond to me.'
'I just tried calling, maybe you are sleeping. I'll call you again tomorrow when you're done with school.'
And five messages came in today.
'Phoenix! Are you alright? I saw this weird video of you being escorted with your eyes and ears covered.'
'Phoenix! Oh my goodness, please tell me you're alright. People are accusing you of attempting to attack others because of your newly found title.
'I've tried calling you. Are you in class?'
'You were unconscious? And people dare to say that you were being dramatic. I will find them and send them to court for online harassment!'
'Don't worry, little one, the Empress will avenge you. Just wait.'
Lucifer was smiling softly. "Your mom is very nice," he said.
"She texted you?" Augustus asked.
"Yes, yesterday, I got used to ignoring my messages, I didn't know she texted me yesterday," Lucifer said. "She invited me to the palace this weekend to officially meet your older brother's fiance."
"Oh, she's back," Augustus said blankly.
"I'm going to call your mom right now," Lucifer said.
At the palace...
"Have your people found the people who posted those videos online?" Isabella asked angrily.
Philip laughed nervously. "No," he said. His wife has been angry for the past hour because of an incident that happened in Phoenix.
Isabella frustratedly paced around the office. Her holopad began ringing.
It was on the desk near Philip. It was a special ringtone she had installed for Phoenix. She jumps to the table, crashing to it sideways.
"Oof," Philip flinched. But Isabella didn't have any reactions. "How are you not in pain right now?" he asked, but was ignored because Isabella had picked up the call.
"Hello," she said, her voice shaking in pain from hitting her side.
Lucifer heard the weirdness in Isabella's voice. "Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.
"Yeah," Isabella replies. "Are you alright?" she shouts in a very high-pitched voice. "I saw the posts online, and I was very worried about you because you might not have been able to handle the public."
"I'm fine right now," he said.
"Are you sure?" she asked softly this time.
Lucifer laughs, feeling a bit amused by her reaction. "Yes, I am," he said.
"Okay, good," Isabella said.
"I saw your message just now," Lucifer said, looking around the room while leaning his back against Augustus.
"Really?" Isabella said happily. "Are you going to come?" she asked in anticipation.
"Yes, I wouldn't want to miss this hangout," Lucifer replies.
"Great!" Isabella said. "I can't wait, I know a good place outside the palace where we can go after we go have cakes and tea," she said.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Lucifer said, talking about the cakes and tea.
"I'll ask Rosetta to send the recipe for the desserts she makes for you since hers don't make you react wildly," Isabella said.
Lucifer was about to ask how she knew that, then she said, "Alice told me you don't behave like the way you did when Rosetta makes desserts for you."
"Oh, okay," he said. "I'll see you this weekend."
"Bye bye," Isabella said, and she sounded excited.
Lucifer hangs up the call. "Your mom is as adorable as a fairy when they've found nectar," he said, laughing.
"You should see her when we're competing," Augustus said.
On Isabella's side...
Isabella jumped in excitement when the call ended. "He's coming over this weekend," she said happily.
"That's great, Isa," Philip said. "Is your waist alright?" he asked.
Isabella was already crouching up on the floor before he said this. "Ow, I didn't mean to hit my waist that hard," she said, almost crying.
Philip laughed helplessly. "Not funny!" Isabella said.
"You're right. I'll call the doctor to help you," Philip said, not before laughing one last time.
