Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

Through out the day, Xavier or Aiden, was nervous, very nervous. Why wouldn't he? Augustus had told him yesterday that three gods were staying in his house with Lucifer because they had signed a peace treaty, and they wanted to keep an eye on Lucifer so that he didn't break his own side of the treaty.

At first he was angered and felt betrayed, why didn't they have this treaty four thousand years ago. Why did the humans need to go through five hundred years of war, blood, and suffering?

Why did his soul have to keep these memories after getting reincarnated ten times? What is the point of everything if he isn't going to use his experience to fight the Demon King despite losing horribly twice?

His anger and depression left almost immediately because now he felt rather relieved. When he discovered Lucifer was occupying the body of his childhood friend and was planning on getting revenge on everyone that had wrong Phoenix, he was worried and afraid because he remembered how Phoenix had reacted when he cancelled their engagement.

The engagement wasn't something he wanted. It was something their parents wanted. His father is a powerful general, but he is also quite greedy, and he wanted to enter the business world. Mr. Davis, Phoenix's father, wanted to enter nobility.

He didn't like Phoenix the same way the boy liked him, he was actually going to cancel their engagement before he was going to differentiate into a different gender and then chase Hiro, Phoenix's best friend, who was his lover for eleven lifetimes.

During each lifetime, he died very miserable deaths be it from a plague, discrimination, or conflict.

When he was about to talk to his father about cancelling his engagement with Phoenix, that was when he discovered that Phoenix was a beta from his father and that he had already cancelled their engagement.

His father had also heard from the De La Fontaine family that their son was an omega. The De La Fontaine family was a noble family who is known for producing excellent omegas. That was the family Hiro was from as well.

His father was too rash with his decision of engaging him with Phoenix, breaking the engagement, as well as forcing him and Hiro to get engaged.

He also wasn't allowed to interact Phoenix anymore. What his father was very irresponsible and because of these actions, Phoenix is gone, and Xavier never got the opportunity to get his forgiveness.

To be honest, he happy that Lucifer didn't do anything to harsh to Hiro, and didn't bother hurting him like he intended to originally. Instead he had taken a liking to him in a friendly way.

Now that there's a peace treaty, he's going to spend a lot of time with Hiro now that the possibility of a major war is very little, so he and Hiro would be able to live happily, and probably have children if they want them in the future.

"Augustus," he called his best friend of this lifetime. They were both done with classes and training that day and they both in their dorm.

"Mmm?" Augustus responded.

He doesn't believe he's doing this. "Can you call Lucifer for me? I want to ask him for a favor."

Augustus raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "Whenever the both of you see each other, the first thing you do is argue," he said, folding his arm.

"I'm not going to argue with him," Xavier responded. "Also we don't argue whenever we meet," he said.

Augustus huffed and laughed a bit and shook his head. "I'm going to call him this evening to see how he's doing with our guests," he said. "You can ask him for the favor during the call."

Lucifer and the A siblings had returned home after a long day of school. They all had assignments to be submitted tomorrow. They all went to the study room to go and work. It wasn't going to be very difficult for the godly siblings to do since they had been watching over humanity for millennia alongside the other gods.

Lucifer, however, couldn't really understand some of the works given as assignments, so he looks up to Athena who sat opposite him.

"Pst, Athena," he whispered called the Goddess of Wisdom.

The Goddess looked up from her work and at Lucifer who was whispering calling her. "What?" she asked.

"Can you help me with this question?" he asked, playing with his fingers, his face was lightly tinted.

He was very ashamed to ask for help from Athena, but he has no other choice at the moment.

"Of course," Athena replies. "Show me what you don't understand," she said.

Lucifer turned his holopad to show her the question.

"Oh that's easy, you just need to..." Athena proceeded to explain to Lucifer.

Artemis and Apollo watched them from where they were working on their assignments, just across the room.

"They get along quite well," Apollo said. "That's surprising."

Artemis looked at both of them closely. "It isn't surprising," she said. "They got along quite well during the last peace treaty."

"Really?" Apollo said, sounding very surprised. "I didn't notice it."

"Well, you would have noticed if you weren't too busy trying to charm one of Lucifer's demons," Artemis said, looking back at her holopad. "Sometimes I wonder how we came from the same womb."

Apollo pouts sadly. "Are you still angry at me?" he asked.

"Yes," Artemis replies without hesitation. "You basically ditched me, again," she said.

"But I already I apologized," he said.

"You always apologize," Artemis said. "Now your apology has gone stale and can not do anything."

Apollo thought of a way to apologize to his sister.

Meanwhile, Athena had already finished explaining to Lucifer how to solve the question he didn't understand. "Thanks I now understand," Lucifer said.

"You're welcome," Athena said, returning to her work, but she was a bit distracted.

Lucifer acts like a normal human child in her eyes. If she remembered correctly, Lucifer was only thirteen years old when his mother was killed in front of him and was taken as a slave by the humans. Just a weak child who didn't know how to defend himself.

'It's surprising Lucifer didn't go and find the soul of the priest to torture him,' she thought because that is what she would have done if she knew who her mother was.

Lucifer's holopad began to vibrate and he picks it up almost immediately. "Hey Augustus!" he said, immediately after he picks it up.

'He likes this human too much,' Athena thought as she concentrated on her work.
