I woke up one morning, really excited and shot a ball of water to the ceiling, it splashed and dropped on my roommates.
Jason said,"Hey, what the heck?"
I smiled and said,"Oh, you know."
He resisted the urge to read my mind as he knew it gave me a headache.
He groaned and went under his sheet.
I was seriously excited for what was going to happen on my birthday, I was seven for goodness sake, the number of good luck.
I walked to Jason and called him, he asked,"What?"
"Do you know what day it is today?"I asked.
"Saturday."He said.
"No, what holiday."
"Labour Day."
"Not that world wide."
"Samosa Saturday."
"No, it's an anniversary."
"Oh yeah! It's the school's anniversary!"
' Okay, he doesn't know. ' I reasoned.
I walked to Cody and asked,"Cody, do you know today's date?"
"Monday, 5th September, 2022."
"Yeah, but do you know anything special about today?"
"It's Labour Day...and the school's anniversary celebration."
Junior cut in,"And Samosa Saturday."
"Samosa Saturday?!"Cody yelled,"I've gotta get my samosas!"
He sprinted out of the room and I figured, none of them knew.
I went to the sports field alone and sat on a bench, crying to myself, this was the first birthday of mine anyone had forgotten, then I realized...
' They're planning a surprise party! Of course, that's why they're playing dumb! I love surprises, they're my favourite kind of birthday parties! ' I realized.
I ran to spy on them and saw Jason, as usual, with his nose in a book.
Junior was manipulating gravity to make himself walk on the ceiling then he yelled and dropped down and said,"How come I forgot what today is?! It's Labour Day and we have a test on it!"
Jason widened his eyes and they sprinted to the library.
' They must have seen me and must have been trying to keep the surprise. ' I figured.
I started watching them from Eve house with binoculars and they were in the library.
Suddenly, they seemed to realize something and ran to the dining hall.
They they took two samosas each and munched into happiness on their way back to the library.
' These guys are good. ' I realized.
I spied on them the whole day but they did nothing, literally.
I started losing hope and started walking back to my room.
Just then I got a migraine headache and realized Jason had recently read my mind.
Jason gasped and woke the others up and said,"We forgot Felix's birthday."
The others were shocked and Junior yelled,"What?!"
Cody said,"We need to tell Principal Blythe!"
I walked to my room and slumped on my bed then someone tapped my back.
I looked at the man and said,"Dad?"
"Follow me..."He said, in his usual cold voice, devoid of emotion.
He was wearing a t-shirt this time, with an unzipped brown leather jacket on it.
He was also wearing black denims and shades as usual.
I was skeptical about following him, but he looked serious and intimidating, as usual so I did.
He didn't say one word the whole time we walked and I could sense a lot more water in him than most people, maybe it was because he was an H 2 Order, maybe it was because he was at a much higher level than I was, I didn't know, but I was done trying to get close to him.
He led me to the sports field.
' Is he going to train me? ' I wondered.
Just then, flashes of white light appeared all around and decorations came out of those lights.
Then portals opened, which looked like circular dimensional doors, with different places on the inside.
All the people walked out of the portals and I recognized my roommates and the principal.
All the thirty two students in the school came out and all the staff, then they all shouted,"Happy birthday Felix!!!"
I dropped my jaw and looked at my dad.
' Did he just, smirk? ' I wondered.
He then did something that rocked my world, he said,"Happy Birthday...son."
I shedded a tear and hugged him.
He tensed and stiffly hugged me back.
The whole school actually celebrated my birthday with a huge party as they did for every student.
I had a mountain of presents from everyone, well, except for my dad, he didn't stay long and that lowered my mood, but I had to stay happy for everyone else.
That night, I was training when I realized something.
' There is a recoil everytime I blast out water... because of its opposite reaction, so if I faced my palms to the ground, I could..."
I started blasting as much water as I could from my hands, per second and my hands started rising higher, but it was tedious.
I experimented a few different alternatives and realized controlling liquid water and adding condensed water vapour had the greatest effect then I took it up a notch.
I stood on the twentieth floor of Franklin house with two buckets of water in my hands and jumped off.
The inertia immediately made the water to fly above my head and I let it collect under my palms and shoot down.
I recollected every white drop that shot down and shot it again and also condensed water vapour to add to it and my hands shot up with light speed, but only slowed down my fall and made my shoulders hurt.
The ground was getting closer, fast and I was terrified, pushing as hard as I could, but it didn't work.
I screamed for help then shot my hands down and a huge jet of white water shot out of my hands and drastically slowed down my fall and I landed with a safety roll.
I looked at the part of the pavement which had been sprayed as if with a pressure washer. I had never been happier for my emotions to take control.
I slumped on my bed and fell asleep immediately.
I woke up at 8 am the next morning and was surprised I woke up so early.
My roommates were not in the room so I figured I'd brainstorm.
' I have to train harder, I have to get more water pressure. "
From that day, I started training even harder.
I studied more, exercised more and used my light more.
My level quickly began to increase and I had a duel in no time.
My two other classmates, roommates and teachers were there.
The teenager looked at me, knowing not to underestimate me.
She looked into my eyes and I looked at hers.
Just then, she shot a rock at me and I dodged but my body ached for some reason.
I landed awkwardly and hurt my ankle then she hit me in the belly with a rock. It didn't hurt much since she held back but my belly hurt really badly.
I yelled loudly and fell on my back and groaned.
I couldn't bear it any longer and submitted then the medical team attended to me.
The Braud teacher checked on me then said,"It happened due to exhaustion."
It was probably since I was training too much and resting too little.
But I was so close.
I couldn't give up...
' Or maybe it just isn't worth it? ' I realized.
I had to stop.
I continued training, it's just, at a lesser intensity.
I was doing a handstand when I stopped because I was tired.
I got back on my feet and went to drink some water then realized something...
' Why is it easier for me to stand on my feet than on my hands? Maybe it's because my feet are stronger, much stronger! Yes! I know what I must do! '
I went out that night and tested my hypothesis.
I took two buckets of water and placed them down, then jumped and kicked down and the water started shooting and I was levitating, like a fly boarder!
"I'm doing it! I'm doing...woah!"I yelled.
I regained my balance then shot up like a rocket and twisted to make a white double helix, I was over the moon!(literally!)
The next day, I went back to the girl my last duel was with and challenged her to a rematch.
She didn't want to accept but everyone pressurised her to.
