I had three wins now and decided to make a winning streak, but first I had to rematch Franklin to get that draw out of my streak.
I challenged him again and he was terrified I could tell, but accepted.
I continued studying to see what other things I could do with my light, training to be able to do them and exercising to do them without hurting myself.
I made up a few new skills like The False Arc, which was where I raised my hand and punched, making water move in a giant ' e '.
The water in the front will protect the water behind but could also do some damage, but in the situation where the curved water was hit, the centre of the ' e ', which was a blast, will hit the target.
The second one was The Liquid Knife.
Where I controlled a small amount of water and swiped my hand so it moved in a thin arc at a great speed and pressure, able to cut through an inch thick plywood.
There were more though and I practiced them as much as I could till the duel came up.
Franklin and I stood at opposite ends on the circle and the referee blew the whistle.
He blasted sound at me but with my water vision, I was able to detect it, the frequency and the amplitude ahead of time.
' They said don't go out of the circle, they never said don't go above it... ' I reasoned.
I flew ten meters up which was far enough for the sound to do no damage. Then I blasted two jets of laminar water from my hands.
They spun around each other in a double helix and charged at him.
He blasted electricity at them to block and I moved my left hand in an awkward spiral which made the water it controlled come out of the electric blast and shoot down, then it whipped his legs and he fell.
Then I dropped down and made turbulent water form around my fist and targeted his head.
He crouched and crossed his arms over his head then the ground around him covered his head and the water splashed around.
He removed the scarred topsoil and I said,"So that's how you're also a Mantter."
"Yup."He said.
Then he made the soil under me shoot up and I flipped in the air with water spinning around me.
' Big mistake. ' I thought.
I landed my foot in front of him and he dodged the deadly splash of pressurised water.
I made a huge tube of water rise from the pool and shot it at him.
He raised a wall of soil and it protected him to its best, but the water was breaking down the mud.
Just before the wall gave in, the sand around my feet made a mound and held my legs then started moving me towards the edge of the circle.
I started blasting the soil but it kept regenerating then I got to the edge of the circle and stopped.
He was struggling but so was I.
The water blast had added a lot of water to the soil and I was using that water to pull myself back.
Then I made a wall of water raise behind him and hit him from the back.
Then I blasted out of the soil.
He stood up but I made the water below his feet rise above his head in a semi circle.
The movement made him slip and fall.
Then I blasted him upwards with the water below him.
He fell and I made the water below him start moving him to the circumference of the circle.
He made a grassy soil wall to block him but I sliced it with a Liquid Knife.
He was thrown out of the circle and was angry.
The next round began and before he could move, I did a Kick Arc Blast which shot him far out of the borders of the circle.
He was frustrated and I jubilated.
Now I had had four different matches and four wins.
The teacher was even more impressed but I realized my dad had stopped showing up and I couldn't care less. I knew he was embarrassed.
I was practicing controlling bodies using water on myself. I was moving my arm with my other arm and realized, I couldn't feel my arm moving.
Then I took it a step further, I knew I could do better.
I went to a pond on the island and took a deep breath then put my five fingertips together and started separating them slowly.
' It is working! The water lily is blooming! ' I thought.
I could manipulate plants using the water in them!
I couldn't colour the water lily pink like the naturally bloomed ones because I couldn't create the pigments, but it was good enough.
Then I tried growing the Lily pads.
Elongating plant tissue was harder than I thought, I figured it was because of the rigid cell walls the plant cells had.
I tried making a Lily pad larger and it worked. It got thinner since I was using the same amount of tissue, I was simply using the water to stretch it. It also started getting holes after a certain point, like the holes of a cheese plant.
I still couldn't remove water from them but this was monumental, especially since I had never seen it in a book before.
' I just invented a sub skill! ' I thought.
A sub skill is the term given to the ability of a person to use their light to control something another light can control.
I practiced the skill on the cheese plant in my room.
I stretched it to the table and made it coil around a bottle and used it to hand me some juice, then I heard someone say,"What the?!"
I looked back to see Junior. He was awake.
I looked at him and he came closer and asked,"How did you do that?"
I wanted to keep my new skill a secret as that would give me an advantage in future duels so I asked,"Do what?"
"That, with the vine with holes in the leaves."He answered.
"I didn't do anything."I said.
"Yes you did, you were moving your hand in circles and it picked the juice for you."He said.
"What are you...oooh! I know what you mean, the cheese plant did move."I said.
"Aha!"
"By itself, it's something called phototropism, cheese plants have negative phototropism which means they grow away from light, the bottle was casting a shadow so it naturally grew around it."I said,"It's just a fact."
"They don't grow that fast!"He said.
"Dude, you're just tired and are probably seeing things, I think it best if you got some sleep."
"Y- yeah, you're probably right."
I lay down first though I slept last. I was too excited to sleep, I just invented a sub skill!
