The ache in my knees is prevalent. I don't know how much longer I can sit like this. The people sitting to my right are constantly shifting, signaling their own discomfort. And yet, we sit, obediently. Honestly, I'm not sure how different this is from joining a frat or a sorority so far. I've seen some pretty humiliating and borderline abusive things happen to students during hell week.
I can hear the tell-tell click-clacking of Brooklyn's Louboutins ascending the stairs to join us. "Eyes forward, pets."
God, I hate this already. I comply, along with my counterparts, and face forward to Brooklyn. At this point the rest of the room is quiet, and although it's difficult to see the bar area because of the lights shining down on us, I can tell that they've all stopped what they are doing and are paying close attention to us.
