I held the sleeping Mari in my arms as Lucas came forward taking her from my embrace " hey pup you awake " . " Luca I mished you " he chuckled his deep melodic laugh kissing the top of her head his chapped lips curved into a little smile , his little locks falling lose from his messy but sanely attractive man bun which I was sure he had tied on his time at inspecting the town just now. " you wanna stay with me and Kate or you wanna go home for a nice warm nap little one " the nickname from his deep voice almost make me blush my translucent cheeks tinted rosy pink as they warmed up by the nickname I have just got by him 'kate' " wanna nap but dun wanna leave " was her cute reply in her cute soft voice laced with sleep, it was clear she was having a hard time keeping herself up as she snuggled up to Lucas her head resting on his broad shoulder rubbing off her sleep lidded eyes time to time with her little fist.

In the end here we were in a park with me eating an ice-cream sitting on a bench enjoying the calm nature and comforting silence while Mari slept on his lap secured in his warm embrace her cute little snores filling as a background noise along with the chirping of birds and whistling of the wind and trees. " tell me about yourself kate" he broke the comforting silence between us and it took me a minute or two to comprehend what he said and come back to the present from my thoughts. " I _ there is nothing much to know about me seriously just that I have been in the moonlight pack for as long as I can remember and all the people there has been a family ever saying though I know I originally doesn't belong to the pack and that I was found on the door step of the pack house by the past luna Serena " I told him about the only thing I thought was important enough to know when he surprised me once again by asking my likes and dislikes. The talk was going fine both of us getting to know each other better until he ask me the question I dreaded the most being asked specially by him. " Katherine why do you think you don't deserve a mate. I mean doesn't everyone deserves a mate and love ? " his voice sounded determined and his expression said it all about how serious he was about it all. Like I was some interesting puzzle he was so determine to solve and set it right the only problem was that he didn't know I was a defected damaged peace beyond any repair. I snapped out of my trance with a sound as I saw a hand snapping mid-air in front of my face breaking my chain of thought . I started my reasoning telling him that " Where ever I go or claim as my home I am always doomed to carry the bad luck to the people of the place. I don't want to destroy or hurt anyone. Everyone just get hurts cause of me and I don't want that to happen to you, your family, your people , or better said to anyone that is why I think I do not deserve a mate " I I told him my honest answer cause he at least deserved to know the truth, with what pain I was going to be giving him I didn't wanted to lie to him about this as well. To my surprise after hearing everything , after hearing the truth about my problem instead of being irritated , annoyed, disgusted or anything of that sort towards me he just gave me a simple nod seeming to be in deep thoughts and after that we just enjoyed a day outside in complete comforting silence having dinner and going to the warm mattress which look really inviting , but not before feeling sorry about Lucas having to sleep on the couch and thinking about how today wasn't bad at all but I still wish tomorrow could be better.
