The vampire knight Dante who was still in the castle was running down the stairs with his wife and 2-year-old child, trying to get to the emergency escape tunnel outside. "Stay close to me Alice" he said very worryingly. With only his sword in his hand, Dante did not have time to put on his armor as the attack on the Crimson castle happened unexpectedly. He wore black pants paired with a white vest and black leather boots. His wife Alice's gown was a sumptuous shade of azure, the rich color reminiscent of the deep ocean waves. The child she was holding was covered with a soft, fluffy white blanket.
Alice clutched her young vampire child protectively against her chest, their footsteps echoed ominously as they descended with haste down the castle's stairs. "Shit, is our lord really dead?". Dante looked back at Alice and his infant child and fear started to slowly creep inside his heart with the thought of losing his family by this unexpected attack. "I need to get my wife and child to safety" he thought as his mind raced.
"Dante, how did this happen? Why are we being attacked?"
"I do not know my love, but whoever these people are, they made a huge mistake underestimating the Crimson family" Dante said with a firm voice.
Dante and his wife continued to descend down the stairs and the closer they came to the end, the louder the sounds of swords clashing became. As they reached the bottom of the stairs, Dante spotted the vampire knights engaged in battle with the mercenaries. Dante scanned the surroundings, trying to find the safest escape route for his family. He looked back at his wife and child; he knew that the only way out is to run straight down the hallway.
"Alice, there is no other way, we have to run straight ahead"
Alice clutched her baby tightly between her arms "Lead the way" she said with great determination.
Dante nods his head "Stay close to me".
Nearby, one of the vampire knights was engaged in a fierce sword battle with an enemy mercenary.
"You fucking leeches, your lord is dead, why don't you just die" The mercenary said as he swung his sword with full force. Fury spark in the vampire knight's heart; he parried every attack from the mercenary. He then decided to go on the offence
"You are just food human, nothing more nothing less, so know your place". The vampire knight clutched his sword with both hands tightly and started to unleash a flurry of heavy slashes with his sword.
"They said that the vampires of the crimsons have no emotions, I guess they were wrong" the mercenary smirked as he allowed the vampire continue his attacks while waiting for the perfect opportunity to counter attack.
The vampire continued his attack on the mercenary man until he noticed something and a slight grin appeared on his lips. "Our little exchange was fun, human, but it's time for you to go accompany my lord in the afterlife"
"What are talking about, leech?"
The vampire knight paused his attack, stepping back momentarily as he pointed a finger behind the mercenary. Before the man could turn his head, a steel object pierced his back with brutal precision.
"You son of a Bit-"
The mercenary's words were cut short as his body crumpled to the floor with a heavy thud.
The vampire knight nodded appreciatively. "Thank you for the assistance, Knight Dante, but this one had everything under control."
"I know, but I need your help, brother," Dante urged, his voice steady despite the chaos around them.
"How may I be of assistance, Knight Dante?" the vampire knight replied, his expression serious.
Dante glanced back at his wife and child, determination etched on his face. "I need you to help me get them out safely."
The vampire knight surveyed Alice and the small child cradled in her arms. "This one will put his life on the line to ensure your family reaches safety, Knight Dante."
"Then let us not waste any more time. I will take the lead, and you will protect them from the rear. Is that understood?"
"Loud and clear," the vampire knight responded, his voice firm.
Dante took the lead; he quickly took the life of every mercenary that crossed his path. Alice held her child closely to her chest, her mind was only focused on protecting the little vampire in her arms, nothing mattered. She would quickly scan her surroundings, pause and step back whenever her husband engaged an enemy in battle.
The vampire knight at the rear was equally vigilant, his sole focus on safeguarding the two vulnerable figures before him. He acted as a shield, ready to deflect any attack that might come their way.
Suddenly, two mercenaries armed with short swords approached Dante, their faces twisted in malice. His eyes glowed a fierce red as he prepared for the confrontation. He parried the first mercenary's attack effortlessly before delivering a devastating strike to the second, his sword slicing cleanly through flesh and bone, decapitating the man in a single fluid motion.
This angered the remaining mercenary man; he rushed forward to stab the vampire knight but he managed to evade the attack. He cut off the mercenary man's arm with amazing speed before cutting of his head.
As they neared the exit, everything seemed to go according to plan. But fate had other ideas. The exit door suddenly swung open, revealing a towering figure—a six-foot lizard man, scales glinting ominously in the dim light.
Dante's heart raced as he assessed the new threat, knowing they had to act quickly. The lizard man's eyes narrowed, its predatory gaze locking onto the family. "Prepare yourselves," Dante warned, gripping his sword tightly, ready to defend his loved ones against this unexpected foe.
"And where are you off to in a hurry." The lizardman's voice slithered through the air, dripping with malice. He looked at Dante and Alice, he also noticed the blanket she held in her arms "Oh, trying to escape with the baby. How unfortunate that all of you are going to die".
Clad in leather armor that hugged his massive frame, the lizardman brandished a large claymore sword, its blade glinting ominously in the dim light. Without hesitation, he lunged forward, initiating his attack with a powerful swing. Dante braced himself, but the force behind the lizard's strike was overwhelming.
Dante was hurled against the wall, shattering a few bones in the impact. The lizardman then focused his attention on Alice and the baby in her arms. With huge strides he walked towards their location "I have nothing against your kind vampire lady, this is just business".
He lifted his right arm with the sword in his hand, ready to take their life, but the vampire knight did not give him a chance. He came from behind Alice with great speed to stab the lizard "Too slow"
The lizardman managed to grab the sword, the vampire knight tried to yank the sword from his clutch but the lizardman strength was too strong. The lizardman then swung his sword, splitting the vampire knight's body in two. While the vampire knight lay helpless on the ground the lizardman stepped on the knight's head, breaking it like a watermelon.
"No!" Alice screamed as she witnessed the vampire knight's brutal demise before her very eyes.
Dante stood up with determination to save his family, grabbing his sword and grinding his teeth, he quickly rushed towards the lizardman.
"Blood Step!" he shouted, unleashing a burst of speed. Yet, despite his ferocity, the lizardman anticipated Dante's every movement. As Dante leaped, aiming to sever the creature's head, the lizardman simply sidestepped, catching Dante's leg mid-air with his massive hand. In a swift, brutal motion, he slammed Dante against the floor, the impact knocking the wind out of him.
"Honey, get up!" Alice cried, desperation lacing her voice. Dante lay there, momentarily powerless, but the sound of his wife's screams ignited a flicker of strength within him. His regenerative abilities were struggling to keep pace, and he knew that time was running out. This was not the moment to lose hope; he would do anything to protect his family.
Dante used the remaining energy he had to get on his feet. Most of the bones in his body were broken, blood was visible all over his face but his fighting spirit has not been diminished.
"Come, show me what you got, you fucking lizard"
"You have some fight in you, vampire. I like that," the lizardman smirked, advancing with deadly intent.
"Then you are going to love me"
"Blood Punch!"
A vicious punch out of nowhere from the side made contact with the lizardman ribs. The fist drove in to the lizardman skin and three of bones from the rib cages snapped. Not even the lizardman leather armor could protect him from feeling the devastating power from this attack. The force from this attack sends the lizardman rolling like a tumbleweed.
Dante's vision grew blurry, the edges of his consciousness threatening to fade away. He wanted to succumb to the darkness, but he bit down hard on his tongue, forcing himself to remain awake. As he struggled to focus, he caught sight of the figure who had just saved his life, and disbelief washed over him.
The lizardman, regaining his composure, glared at his assailant, fury etched across his scaly features. He searched for the source of the attack, eyes narrowing when he spotted a young, handsome vampire standing confidently before him. "Ah, that hurt, goddamnit! You dare attack me? State your name, leech!" the lizardman roared, his voice thick with anger.
The young vampire nonchalantly said "Richard, Richard Crimson".
