Chereads / GINNY / Chapter 15 - 14

Chapter 15 - 14

Ginny froze, "Ohhh? Okay, big brother. Only him?"

"Yes, Mrs. Balogun couldn't come today, she overdid herself last night," Jack told her.

Ginny took a glass and went out to give it to Tim. Why did he have to come too? She couldn't understand why they had to meet again. She stood at the door and breathed a few times before she opened it.

What met her out in the yard made her heart forget to work. So far, she had seen Tim in the dark, now Tim under the sunlight was breathtakingly dazzling. The way the sun enveloped him, his short hair gleaming, his skin looking like unmeltable chocolate. His effortlessly casual clothes...

Ginny quickly looked away realizing that she was doing it again. Looking at a man too much. If her father caught her she will be sent back to her room never to come out again. She didn't want to lose this opportunity to be there for her sister. It had happened at Grace's introductions, she didn't want it to happen again.

Ginny approached Tim with her eyes downcast when he had finished his call. "Good day, Mr. Tim. I have brought you something to drink," she said stretching out her hand without looking up at him.

Tim feasted his eyes first, it had been worth it coming here after all, "So this is how you give someone something around here? Is it so unbearable for you to look at me while passing me a drink?"

Ginny stiffened at his displeased tone. She lifted her head slowly but couldn't bring herself to look directly at him, "Here you go, Mr. Timini."

Tim squinted his eyes, "Did you perhaps spit in it because you hate me?"

Ginny's eyes found him quickly in a panic, "Of cause-."

Tim didn't let her finish as he took the drink from the tray and said lazily, "Ahhh, so you did spit in my drink."

"No! I was going to say of cause-"

"See? You repeated it," he said cutting her off again before she could finish her statement.

Ginny couldn't believe it, Tim was making her feel desperate to explain herself. "I-I didn't spit in your drink, Mr. Tim. I assure you, I would never do something like that to anyone," she declared.

"Is that so?" he inquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes," she answered, desperate for him to believe her.

Tim sighed, "Too bad I'm not anyone to you, right?" he asked in a low voice.

Ginny searched his face, trying to figure out what he was saying, "What?"

Tim took a step towards her, "I mean, you don't consider me as anyone, right?"

Ginny frowned at him, surely he didn't mean it. Between the two of them, she was the nobody, not him, "But you are someone. You're Mr. Tim."

"Exactly," he said and something flashed in his eyes, but it was gone before she could see what it was. " Anyway, wifey sent her greetings," he told her. She had also said he should hug her on her behalf which was absurd. But who was he to go against his wifey? He grinned as he took Ginny suddenly into his arms. "This is from wifey, she said I should make sure to give it to you."

Ginny didn't know what to say, she stood there not breathing while she listened to Tim's fast heartbeat. Or maybe it was hers?

Tim felt like he could drown in her sweet scent mixed with food today. She had been cooking and he found himself hungry all of a sudden. And her softness, God! He wanted more and he hated that he had to take advantage of Wifey's words just to have Ginny in his arms again. He had been thinking about her a lot in the past two days he had known her. "There you go," he said letting her go, taking a step back and immediately gulping down the drink from sudden thirst with his eyes glued on the shy, awkward girl in front of him.

Ginny didn't know what to do, she felt apprehensive and shy. "Th-thank you and greet Mrs. B back for me...pl-please," she stumbled awkwardly over her words avoiding his gaze. She wanted to run and hide from his piecing eyes but all she could do was bit the inside of her mouth and stay still.

What type of a wife tells her husband to go and hug another woman, anyway? Or maybe it was because she didn't see her as one? Or maybe she trusted her husband so much? Ginny couldn't understand.

Tim finished the drink in one breath and passed her the empty glass, he said, "Can I have some more please?" He knew it wasn't a drink he craved but he refused to acknowledge it.

"Yes, sure," Ginny quickly nodded her head and rushed off to get more from the house.

"Make sure to spit in it," he added after her, making her stop to argue with him but ended up sighing and disappearing into the house without a word.

Tim rubbed his hand down his face, he had not been behaving like his usual self and it was starting to worry him. 'If I'm not careful, I will end up hooked and railed in like Jack.' He thought to himself. He had never been so confused by his feelings as he had been since meeting Ginny. She pulled at his heart and body and it infuriated him as much as he enjoyed it.

At the gate, Godwin had just arrived in time to witness Tim hugging Ginny. "How dare he lay his hands on my woman!!!" he muttered under his breath with so much vehemence. He charged forward with a hard look in his eyes ready to strike him down.

Tim turned at the sound of someone's approach. His face hardened and disgust twisted his gut at the sight of Godwin. Looking at Godwin's hard features, Tim was knew the feeling was mutual and smirked.

What would Mr. Osunde think of his son-in-law if he found out the dirty stuff going through his head about his youngest daughter? Hell! The same things were running through his mind too but at least he wasn't married to one of her elder sisters.
