Chereads / GINNY / Chapter 16 - 15

Chapter 16 - 15

The day was going great, it couldn't be better. There was food, drinks, music, conversation, and laughter. It was perfect for everyone, except Ginny.

Ginny was laughing, talking, and enjoying herself until Tim decided he wanted cold water. Being the youngest around meant there was no one she could send in her place. All was well when she went humming to the kitchen to get the cold water until she realized Mr. Timini had followed her.

"I-I could have brought it to you, you didn't have to come to get it yourself," she said smiling from ear to ear. She was in a great mood, she had almost forgotten that Tim was there too with his blazing eyes. At first, she had been stiff and so aware of him from across the room until she shut him out and truly started enjoying herself.

"You are having the time of your life, huh?" Tim asked, accepting the cold bottle of water from her, his fingers brushing against hers. The contact, shooting off those strong electric bolts up his hand.

"Yes! Can you tell? I'm so happy for my sister and my new brother. I feel so...so over the moon...How about you, Mr. Tim?"

Tim had been watching her all day and he had never seen a more beautiful woman but of cause, he would never tell her that. Even as he looked at her now, her eyes twinkling, her face radiant as she smiled that sweet smile he had come to know on her face when she's happy. He didn't like that he was noticing these small things about her, the little things that other people wouldn't have noticed easily in a matter of two days. If he stayed any longer in her presence he knew he would fall hard and that was something he didn't want to happen. 'She's a kid, not a woman,' he told himself even as his heart longed for her. "That's good and I'm happy for them too, kid."

Ginny smiled at him though a little surprised by him calling her a kid. She didn't mind much, besides, it just proved that Mrs. B and her husband didn't see her as anything more than a kid, hence she was no threat to their marriage. She just had to get herself together.

Just then it started raining outside, "Ohh! It's raining, I better go and close the windows so that the rain doesn't get in. See you in the lounge, Mr. B."

Tim frowned, "Mr. B?"

"Yeah. You're Mrs. B's husband so you are Mr. B. Or do you prefer I say your full last name, Mr. Balogun?" Ginny asked as she walked to the door.

Tim felt it, the wall she was building between them to prevent any kind of relationship that is not related to his Wifey. It wasn't a bad thing but he just hated it to the point where he didn't want to talk to Ginny anymore in case she calls him Mr. B again. Because every time she would call him that, he would feel that wall getting higher. "Mr. B is fine," he replied in a clipped tone.

Ginny looked back at him and waved as she left to close the open bedroom windows before the rain gets in. She was feeling pretty good about herself, she felt like she had successfully gotten herself under control. After closing her parents' bedroom windows and the guest room, she entered her bedroom. That would be hers fully once Nissy is married. She closed the windows and drew the curtains, she inspected her work ready to exit the room and return to the lounge.

"So this is your room?"

Ginny jumped, her heart hammering in her chest at the sound of Tim's voice. She stared at him speechless. He was in her room... What was he doing there? "Mr. B? Are you lost?" she asked in a low voice.

Tim simply shook his head as he looked around the bedroom. It was probably the most minimalistic bedroom he had ever seen.

Ginny expected him to say something more but a head shake was all she got. "So you need me for something?"

Tim's eyes found her at last making her look away. "I'm here to give you a chance," he said studying her face.

"To do what?" she inquired, not making eye contact. There was something in his eyes that wasn't there when they were in the kitchen. It scared her.

"To seduce me," he said in a low seductive voice making her shiver.

Ginny swallowed and took a step back, her shoulders dropping at his suggestion. She thought they were now getting along, she was able to finally look at him without feeling like she was doing something bad but he was talking about this again. And what happened to him being a good husband? "Mr. Tim, I don't want that chance. Please excuse me."

Tim watched as she walked past him and left without the slightest hesitation. She left him feeling offended and insulted. He groaned in frustration, "Have I lost my mind? What the heck is wrong with me!" he whispered angrily at himself. It was like he couldn't stay away and let that wall she had started to build between them get any stronger.

"So you like my sister, huh?"

Glo, being the most observant in the family, had noticed how Tim's eyes had been glued on her little sister all day. She wasn't surprised, Ginny was getting more and more attractive every time she saw her.

Tim smirked, "She's an attractive girl isn't it only natural that I want a taste?"

Gloria returned the smirk, "Be careful, Mister, that's my little sister you're talking about."

"I don't think I said anything out of line."

Glo looked him up and down as if checking if he qualified before saying, "There's something that Ginny has that all of us her sisters don't have. Something that I have noticed my father desperately trying to keep intact...My little sister deserves the best, and I don't think you are It. Please stay away while I'm being nice and smiling sweetly at you like this, Mr. Balogun," Glo smiled sweetly at him before exiting the room, leaving him alone again.

Tim ground his teeth, not because he was angry or offended but because he knew he did come short when it came to Ginny. He acknowledged that he didn't deserve her. She was too good for him and it would do them both some good if he stayed away from her. That shouldn't be hard, after this, they will probably only see each other again on the day of the wedding. 'But...what did she mean by Ginny has something they all don't?'

* * *

It's been two days since the family introductions and Ginny had stayed behind with her parents promising her sisters Glo and Nissy that she will visit as soon as Grace gave birth. This meant she had to stay with her parents for a month or more.

Glo had been a little understanding about it after their parents intervened but Nissy refused to be reasonable. She only left because Ginny told her to let her stay but not before telling their eldest sister how selfish, self-centered and inconsiderate she was. She also promised her a hard time if anything happens to their sister while she's under her roof. Things would have gotten out of hand if their parents had not put their feet down.

Now Ginny was on her way to spend some time with Grace just after her shift had ended at the hospital. Grace had been exhausted from all the excitement of Nissy's engagement so she had requested to come for her prenatal check-up the following week instead of the day before. Because of that, she had run out of her prenatal vitamins so Ginny was taking some to her from her doctor.

Ginny was relieved when she reached the gate of her sister's house, ready to get out of the heat. She noticed Godwin's car in the driveway but didn't think much of it because sometimes his father would pick him up. She was so thirsty and hungry, she was looking forward to a cold drink of water and some food.

"Sis, I'm here!.. Where are you, big sis," Ginny called as she entered the house, surprised to find the door unlocked. She heard a commotion as she got into the lounge and she thought she saw someone walk out through the kitchen door.

"Sis? Is that you?" she called walking towards the kitchen but then something caught her eye from the landing of the stairs. She screamed in panic, Grace was sprawled on the floor in a pool of blood.

"Sis? Grace? Grace? Sis, hang on I will call an ambulance..." Ginny spoke in a shaky voice trying to get a response from Grace but there was non, but her pulse was there although it was a bit weak. She made her lie on her back, "Hang on, Sis. Hang on."

Ginny ran around looking for Grace's phone, tears flowing while saying a silent prayer for her sister and baby.
