Chapter 49: Blood Wars Part 3

"Elders! Elders!" A tribesman who was guarding the entrance of the tribe screamed in panic while running towards the biggest tent in the tribe to inform the Chieftain about the bad news.

When the tribesman reached the tent, he didn't even ask for permission to enter and just barged in showing that it was an emergency. Chief Viren furrowed his eyebrows at the rudeness of the tribesman, but before he could reprimand him, the tribesman spoke hurriedly.

"Chieftain! There are some people on the edge of our safety zone!" The tribesman reported. "We believed those people are from the Blood Tribe!"

"What!" The Chieftain stood up in surprise. "How did you know that they are from the Blood Tribe?"

"The Leader of the group… we recognize who he is."

"Who?" Chief Viren asked while slowly frowning.

"I think it is better if you see for yourself." The tribesman was hesitant to tell who was the leader.

Chief Viren agreed, he was also curious and wanted to see the person himself. He ordered the tribesman to inform the other Elders before he slowly walked outside and continued towards the entrance of the tribe.

While walking, the Chieftain saw the worried faces of his tribesmen. He wanted to reassure them, but even he was worried about the enemy. Soon after reaching the entrance of the tribe, Chief Viren tried to ascertain the people, in the distance.

Chief Viren saw 10 people on the edge of the safety zone. However, because of his old age, he couldn't see their faces with the distance they had. On the other hand, The Leader of the 10 people also known as the Chieftain of the Blood Tribe had good eyesight.

The moment he saw the Chieftain of the Phantom Tribe he smiled.

"SO YOU ARE STILL ALIVE OLD MAN!" The Chieftain of the Blood Tribe screamed in amusement. "I THOUGHT YOU DIE 5 CYCLES AGO! NEVER THOUGHT I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!"

Chief Viren froze when he heard the voice of the man he hated the most in this world.

"You… VAL!!! YOU HATEFUL THING!" Chief Viren immediately screamed when he realized who was the person. "I THOUGHT YOU DIE 5 CYCLES AGO, BUT I GUESS PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE HARDEST TO KILL!"

"HAHAHA! ARE YOU NOT HAPPY SEEING YOUR OLD FRIEND?!" Val mockingly said. "I WAS HAPPY WHEN I SAW YOU STILL ALIVE! IT LOOKS LIKE I STILL HAVE A CHANCE TO MAKE YOU SUFFER!"

Val wanted to quickly go to the tribe, but he was worried about the weird traps. In the beginning, he brought 20 people in total. However, because of some traps, he lost half of his men. Nonetheless, he didn't let this hinder his objective.

He commanded his people to lead the way. Thus, even if there was a trap, he would not be the one who would fall. The 9 people hesitate to follow the orders, but after they felt the killing intent coming from their Chieftain, they finally decided to slowly walk forward.

Meanwhile, the other Elders, Alfred, and Aponi finally arrived at the entrance of the tribe. They instantly saw 10 people in the distance slowly making their way towards them. They were surprised when they heard Chief Viren screaming angrily because it was been a while since they last saw Chief Viren this angry.

"Who are they?" Alfred asked with concern.

"They are… from the Blood Tribe." One of the tribesmen guarding the entrance whispered. "And the one leading them is the person that killed Chief Viren's wife and eldest daughter."

Alfred was shocked when he heard this, he already knew the story but he didn't know that the person was still alive. He was not the only person who was surprised when they find out who the person attacking them.

Even Shaman Catori and Elder Ahote were baffled when they heard Chief Viren yell a name that was almost taboo in the tribe, they never thought they would hear it again.

"HOW DARE YOU COME BACK HERE!" Elder Ahote burst into anger when he saw Val. He could still remember the disaster that took the life of half of their tribesmen 5 cycles ago. "THE MOMENT YOU STEP INSIDE OF OUR TRIBE IS THE MOMENT YOU WILL DIE!"

"HAHAHA! LOOK AT THIS! THE OLD COOTS GATHERED TO WELCOME ME!" Val replied. "I APPRECIATE YOUR WARM WELCOME, BUT I WANT TO CORRECT YOU WITH SOMETHING! THE MOMENT I STEP INSIDE OF YOUR TRIBE! IS THE MOMENT ALL OF YOU WILL DIE!"

Aponi was scared, she was confused about what was going on. She walked closer to her father to calm him down and asked what was happening. However, her father ignored her question and just tell her to go back and hide.

"Alfred you should go back with Aponi and hide." Chief Viren shifted his attention to Alfred. "No matter what happens do not come out."

Alfred and Aponi were conflicted, they wanted to know more about what was going to happen, but Alfred decided to follow Chief Viren's suggestion. He held Aponi's hand and gently dragged her with him, she didn't want to leave because she was worried about her father.

Both of them went to Alfred's tent to hide, they also bring Amra and Leo with them worried that might something bad happen to them if they left them alone.

"Do you think we are going to be okay?" Aponi worriedly asked. "Is it true that the people outside are the Blood Tribe?"

"You do not have to worry," Alfred assured. "Even if they are the Blood Tribe, they will not be able to reach our tribe unscratched. Did you forget that I set up a lot of Runic Trap for this occasion?"

"Do you think brother Vir already finds Gunnar?"

"You do not have to worry about him," Alfred wave his hand and reassured Aponi. "Even though I hate to admit it, Gunnar is strong even by himself, he was not going to die so easily. You should worry about his enemy, just imagine what will Gunnar do to him."

"Hihihi, you are right." Aponi giggle when she heard Alfred's words.

While they were having a conversation, a commotion happened outside. They heard a loud bang and then screaming. Alfred and Aponi wanted to check what it was, but they recalled what Chief Viren said to them, that they should not come out no matter what.

Val was finally able to reach the entrance of the Phantom Tribe, in exchange for 5 Blood Hunters' life. 4 of them were killed by the Runic trap while 1 was shot to death when they were walking closer to the tribe.

Although the 5 Arrows that Vir left behind to guard the tribe were shooting Val and his hunters non-stop. They didn't manage to kill anymore because Val took an action and block the incoming arrows with his spear. He didn't want to lose any more hunters as he didn't know how many enemies he was going to face inside.

As the Blood Hunters were getting closer and the arrow was not able to hit them, the Arrows decided to throw their bow aside and equip their spear to fight them at a close distance. While this was happening, Shaman Catori and Elder Ahote went back to their own tent to do their own stuff. In the meantime, Chief Viren stayed behind to observe the situation.

Shaman Catori went back because she wanted to lead the tribesmen to safety, Elder Ahote on the other hand, went back to get his own Runic weapon and accessories. He asked Alfred to make him a Runic set. Therefore, he was going to be ready if a situation like this arises.

Elder Ahote like to use a stone hammer as his hand was pretty good at using it. Although he had a smaller hammer than Rag, he had two of them to compensate for that. After getting his equipment, Elder Ahote was about to went back, but suddenly a loud noise resounded.

Elder Ahote hurriedly ran to see what it was. When he reached the place where the sound came from, he saw a broken tent where an Arrow was lying on the broken materials. He was clearly injured as he held his shoulder while his face was twisted.

Not far from them, were the remaining 4 Arrows fighting the 4 Blood Hunters. While Val was standing in front of Chief Viren, Chief Viren was now holding a spear showing his intention to fight. Elder Ahote was anxious because he knew that Chief Viren's body was not able to fight anymore because of the injury he received 5 cycles ago.

The two seemed to be talking with each other, but Elder Ahote couldn't hear them as his distance was quite far away from them. He was worried that Val might do something to Chief Viren. Thus, he hastened his footstep to help Chief Viren as fast as possible.

However, while Elder Ahote was running toward them, the unthinkable happen. Chief Viren charged forward intending to pierce Val's body with his spear, but before the spear reach Val. Val attacked using his spear.
