Chapter 1 - Vanitas Evergarden

Just as the sky peaked over the horizon signaling a new day, the city of Hecate was still enveloped in serene darkness.

[Azure Sky Sect]

"Direct Disciple- oh, my bad. Outer~ disciple Vanitas Evergarden; from today onwards you are hereby stripped of your title as an outer disciple. You are no longer welcome in the vicinity of the Azure Sky Sect; as you're nothing but a mortal now~" An old man around the age of 60 said in a mocking voice as he sat leisurely in the Grand Elder seat.

Around him were many other elders of the sect, while in the main seat sat the Sect Leader as he sat there listening to the Grand Elder.

In front of them was a young man around the age of 16 kneeling as he looked at the floor hiding his expression.

"Be grateful we spared your life boy~ the Sect Leader was already very generous to grant you 4000 silver coins which are more than enough for a mere mortal." one of the elders said in a disgusted tone.

Vanitas, remained kneeling before he stood up revealing an indifferent expression.

'I can't believe I'm being forced out of my home... they even went as far as breaking my dantian.' Vanitas lamenated indifferently.

Ignoring everyone he didn't speak a word and started walking away.

"Wait!"

Vanitas slowly halted his steps for a second before turning around and facing the Grand Elders' smile and the cold face of the Sect leader as well as the disgusted expressions of everyone else.

"Yes?" Finally, Vanitas spoke his voice calm but somewhat feminine that was pleasing to the ears.

The Grand Elder waved his hand as a pouch appeared in his hand, "You forgot your money, take it and never show your face here."

Finally, Vanita's indifferent expression changed into a cruel smile, "You shouldn't throw money around so carelessly Elder, after all your only a third-rate sect. Someone already stole from your medicine garden; if someone found out you were wasting money so carelessly then your reputation would be tarnished... well more tarnished fufu~" Finishing his words he simply walked out leaving the hall of angered elders, as their faces were bright red like a tomato.

Vanitas chuckled sinisterly before his face returned to his usual indifferent expression as he was leaving multiple disciples watched him and mocked him.

"Look! The cripple is leaving~"

"Hahaha~"

"You owe me! I told you he would get kicked out, now you owe me dinner haha~"

Hearing this Vanitas remained indifferent but in his heart, he swore if he was ever able to restore his dantian he would wipe the Azure Sky Sect out of existence.

Vanitas used to be an outer court disciple of the Azure Sky Sect with the strength of a First Stage Profound Spirit Realm at the age of 16; He was considered a genius in the sect, especially due to how few resources he had.

Vanitas was an orphan, as the Fourth Elder found came across him and brought him to the Azure Sky Sect. The Fourth Elder discovered Vanitas was a genius when it came to cultivating but due to his lack of resources and circumstances he wasn't able to fully shine, so he brought him back to the sect and gave him a surname.

He was living a good life under the guidance of the Fourth Elder and thought of the Azure Sky Sect as his home, but one day he heard the news of Fourth Elder Vanitas Xia's death.

Elder Vanitas Xia's lost his life while fighting against a fourth-rank magical beast to obtain a certain medicinal herb.

Ever since then, Vanita's life became a living hell. He lost his status as a Direct Disciple and was ordered to safely guard the herbs in the Medicine Garden.

He was always bullied and tortured by the stronger disciples, ever since then, he changed emotionally. He never screamed in pain, never showed any reaction, and grew a very sharp tongue.

Yesterday, he went to the Black Cloud Forest to hunt a first-rank magical beast, a mountain bear to complete his mission.

After coming back from the Black Cloud Forest and reporting his completion of the mission, just as he entered the medicinal garden, he saw Grand Elder's disciple Zhang Hu who was at the ninth stage of Elementary Spirit Realm, stealing a high-grade herb from the medicine garden. There was another middle-aged man, standing beside him who was giving off a powerful aura.

He honestly didn't care but he needed to stop them if he wanted a place to live at the very least. Though instead of stopping them, he got badly beaten up and they even went as far as destroying his dantian.

Along with many precious medicinal herbs.

He was still suffering from the pain when suddenly Law Enforcement disciples and elders came and bound him with rope and then they dragged him in front of the sect Leader.

Not even bothering to ask him what happened and directly assuming he was guilty.

There, Zhang Hu framed him with the help of his master the Grand Elder and then he was kicked out of the sect.

He knew there was no point in arguing and honestly he stopped caring as he knew that they set him up.

He knew everything came back to the Grand Elders' pettiness, as he held grudges against the Fourth Elder. Everyone in the sect dare not go against the Grand Elder as everyone was afraid of him even the Sect Leader.

Vanitas hated the Azure Sky Sect to his very core. He wanted nothing more than to torture every elder before killing them and then dragging the Grand Elder to the forest and locking him in a cage with a very 'friendly' bear while the Sect Leader watched awaiting the same fate.

The disciples of the sect enjoyed making fun of Vanitas while he leisurely walked toward the Black Cloud Forest ignoring everyone around him, like none of it, mattered to him.
