"That was suspiciously easy," I murmured, checking for any prints I may have left.
"Why?" Jace's voice crackled in the earpiece. "Did you want to do something with him?"
He didn't sound jealous or accusatory, but the way he said it infuriated me.
"First off, gross. Second, I have a reputation to keep," I scoffed, double and triple checking the area before leaving.
I was still suspicious of how easily that went. I expected a five-minute hand combat at least.
"Amiel is right. Keep your guard up. It seemed too easy." Seven affirmed. I heard shuffling in the background.
"Jace and I will be leaving the control room. Donn Montequero's disappearance would be greatly noticed. Amiel, change of clothes, and you too, Ryan."
"Copy," I replied, toying with the mask in my hand. Briskly walking in the silent hallway, I came to the place where the change of duffel bag for my change of clothes was waiting.
