"Jace," I whispered, my heart beating like crazy inside my chest. He pulled away, leaning his forehead onto mine.
We were out of breath, but neither of us looked like we regretted that kiss.
"I got carried away," Jace answered. Neither of us moved away. "Amiel…"
I took a deep breath. My insides were in turmoil.
I wanted to demand more kisses from Jace. He had awakened something inside of me, one that I had never felt before.
"Yes?" I replied, gasping. Jace was tracing the outline of my jaw, almost like a tease. His other hand was holding onto my arm.
"Will you be able to keep quiet?" he asked, keeping his tone low.
I thought about his question for a moment before glancing at the door. It was locked. I saw him do it.
"I'm… not sure," I admitted, feeling my cheeks burn, suddenly ashamed.
