Bruce was better now. But the doctor advised them to keep him for the night to be safe.
I asked Seven for help to keep them safe. He pulled some strings to move them to a private room where only the listed doctor and nurses were allowed to come.
I was going to stay at the medical facility with Bruce and his family, but Seven said it was better if I leave them be.
It was safer.
Since we were already out, I asked Jace if we could also check the old man and eat dinner there. Time floated so quickly that I didn't even realize it was already evening.
Rory and I ended our conversation after Jace came back. He would surely ask me about Jace.
I could tell him about our kisses. But beyond that, there was nothing else to tell.
"Have you been keeping him in check?" I asked Jace. He was driving my car, and I rode shotgun. I was no longer forced this time.
"I have my ways," he replied, sounding amused.
