With a hoarse voice, Elena said, "A woman came out of Elleard's room."
Her annoyance sounded so obvious and Elena felt really upset.
She was Elleard's wife but she had never even set foot in his bedroom, but some female stranger could do it as they pleased. Elena felt so uncomfortable with all this.
Xavier's expression became more serious, but a sad smile followed after that. "You know, Elena. For my brother, not everything can go as normal and as it should."
Elena was silent, waiting for Xavier who might still want to continue his speech. The man added, "What you saw earlier is one of them."
Elena stared at Xavier intently, wanting to hear more from her brother-in-law. However, Xavier didn't say anything. He thought it was a conversation that Elleard should have with his wife.
"Gum?" Xavier took out a pack of gum from his pocket. "I wanted to offer you smoke but I quit already. So..."
He shrugged.
