Karl was taken aback by her words and stared at her with confusion when she let out a humorless chuckle.
"I hope you must've. She must be feeling better by now"
Gwen didn't leave a chance to taunt him. The scene she had been trying to forget crossed her mind once again when he came to meet her.
"Are you doubting me, Gwen?" Karl suddenly asked out of the blue.
"Who am I to doubt you" she shrugged ignoring his hurtful look. She was going to fall for his innocent face. She knew he wasn't at fault but whatever she saw, couldn't be avoided.
Karl was feeling hurt by Gwen's harsh words. It didn't take him time to understand what she was trying to point out.
He assumed that Gwen had already witnessed Linda hugging him, but instead of letting him explain for exactly what happened between the two, she was doubting him.
"If that's what you feel then, let it be" he declared taking a deep breath and stood up from his seat.
