In the village of Valstock, where love and peace dwelt, there was a boy named Grimlock, a young lad who was known for his wits and cunning. His best friend, Ethan on the other hand was a funny lad, always had Grim's back through thick and thin. Pyre, Grim's other friend, was a bold, fearless young lad. They always played games together and had lots of fun with each other.
The king of the kingdom,Valsteen, ruled over the land with an iron fist, starving the villagers countlessly, enslaving them for the expansion of the kingdom. His daughter, Ellana was a beautiful young lass. Stuck in the castle all day long, she yearned for adventure but her father never let her anywhere outside the castle. So one day, she sneaked out right under the noses of the guards to the village and there she met Pyre, Pyre was immediately struck by her beauty. Deciding to stalk her, he soon learned that she wasn't a villager but a high-born, but which high-born lady she was, he couldn't pick out.
Every now and then, Ellana kept sneaking out of the castle. Pyre told Ethan and Grim about the mysterious high-born girl and they all started stalking her. She usually spent more time in the village with a girl named Brida. Eventually, Pyre decided to find a way to talk to her. Grim advised it'd be better if he talked to her directly instead of devising schemes. Pyre was bold in many things but relating with the ladies, the beautiful ones especially, wasn't on the list.
His friend, Maximan, the bastard son of the great knight, Sir Jeremy was a talented young warrior. Pyre devised a plan with Max to hire some of his friends to pretend to attack the girl while Pyre comes in and rescues her, classic "damsel in distress" trick. Max agreed but his friends wouldn't except for a fee. Of course Pyre had no money, certainly not the amount they wanted, so he had to get it some other way. Ethan's father was a village man but he wasn't as poor as the average village man. He was a prosperous farmer, knew what most farmers didn't know about growing a farm. So Pyre stole some of Ethan's father's crops in the dead of the night and sold to a store and then gave some of the money to Max's friends.
Ellana usually sneaked out of the castles at mid-day when her father and mother left the kingdom for a general meeting at Cythos. They called it "The meeting of Kings". They usually returned about the next day or so. Irene, an old lady in her seventies was placed to watch her, but she could only do so much at such an old age, she slept more often than babysitting her.
Today at mid-day she left the castle. She usually took the long route to the village but this time she decided to take a short cut. Pyre followed her closely, so did the others and then halfway down the road, where there were less passerbys, Max's friends attacked her, grabbing her, they covered her mouth so she couldn't scream for help. Then Pyre and Max showed up and attacked Max's friends. But Max's friends got a little too serious, they cut Pyre at the side of his leg. Max was annoyed and yelled at them but they didn't listen. In anger, Pyre rose and injured one of them, the rest ran. He turned an angry look to Max but couldn't say anything without blowing up the whole setup. Ellana was extremely grateful, Pyre was pleased with himself.
