Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Your majesty, the transport is ready for you to go to the unveil"

"Good, I'm sick of waiting, now we can finally conquer the Stigquit's, a system over" Aleister breathed out in joy.

"Conquer your majesty?"

"Oh, surely you have heard the rumors by now; no doubt spread by my insufferable brother." Aleister laughed "Of course, I've heard of them, but I didn't believe them to be true, are they?"

"Yes they are true, and over the past three days after its completion, it's already computed what would have taken five years!" Aleister said while walking out of his study. The palace was filled with innumerable amounts of art, be it paintings or physical art, and with many depictions of the past. Being a species with only a mere 3000 years since the beginning of language, only a few dozen wall panels were filled with writing and text to be forever immortalized until the demise of their civilization.

Bobbing and weaving through the corridors, Aleister eventually made it out of the palace and onto a platform with a small transport docked on the side of the palace platform. It was only a short minute after entering the craft that the ship took off, speeding into the distance, after a few seconds they had reached the middle of the city, directly from the Palace.

Millions of people were crushed into the relatively small city center, along with hundreds of recording platforms transmitting the scene to the billions across all of the Planets in the Kingdom; Vore the planet as prosperous as Dochion had the most viewers with over 50 billion across the planet.

Walking down the ramp and across the walkway, Aleister had made his way to the platform flanked by dozens of royal guards.

"When our fathers stood across from the Vore, they had not the luxury of traveling through the stars; indeed, They abandoned their traditions and begged for our future, and then it was by wisdom rather than by good fortune, that they made our civilization what it is today. We must live up to the standard they set: we must not stop our expansion, we must not stop their glory in any and every way, Shall you allow our audacious neighbors to violate with impunity the merchants, who make your civilization prosper?! Will you not teach the galaxy that a malediction attends those that violate the prosperity of the Great People! The result of our efforts will be unclouded glory and a durable peace through their defeat!"

Overhead a Giant White Dual Bridge ship appeared over the city "Let us paint our new vow with the blood of our enemies! the gold of our victories! Let us, Conqueror the Stigquits! let us parade on their homeworld! let us Go To War!".

Once all of the people had gotten over the shock of the giant kilometer and a half Ship they all began to cheer, in almost cultish speciesism. Although many people were cheering there was also a group of people that were not cheering, almost all of them were of a different species.

"Overall they have many more ships than us, at 12 Corvettes, 8 frigates, and 2 Smaller Cruisers; because of their smaller ship sizes their ability to screen for fighters is much greater, and that's not even considering that they have an advantage with fighter capacity and any orbital defense platforms would put us at a major disadvantage," a bald man even bigger than Aleister said while leaning over another circular desk with a hologram of 22 Stiqguit ships.

The only reason they even knew about them was simply that civilian-sized ships, ships with a length less than 50 meters have easier computations for FTL, as the bigger the ship the easier the surrounding Celestial bodies affect it; they knew not if that was a regular with all FTL drives, but they at the very least knew that was the case with the drives given by the Vore.

"That's true but we also have a Heavy Cruiser, and a powerful one at that; we also don't have any regular cheap fighters, these are expensive shielded, heavy armored, heavy gunned terrors, piloted by the greatest out of billions!" another visibly younger man argued back

"Enough!, you are too cautious and you aren't cautious enough; based on the Vore not visiting this civilization, for whatever reason they may have had, we should have technological superiority. And with three different systems, it's very unlikely that they will be able to reinforce quickly enough from whatever they may have in their other systems." Aleister busted into the argument that was getting nowhere quick "Therefore, any corvette and frigates will be the main target by this ship while the fighters decimate the cruiser before intercepting any planetary reinforcements"

In acknowledgment, the two men had begun to bow a little, but the metal sliding door suddenly opened and a man in a plain white uniform jogged in.

"Your Majesty, we are only a minute from the end of the jump!" with high morale, and high confidence from most on the bridge they had entered The Uber System.

It was then that their confidence and morale had taken an immediate hit. All they saw was a fleet not in size nor in shape familiar with the Stigquit Species, no, this was a fleet that had come to conquer the Stigquit. With two battlecruisers of similar size as the Orpheus Class cruiser and 30 support ships among a scrap field filled with what seemed to be 25 ships, an unidentified non-Stigquit Cruiser among them, everyone's blood had run completely cold.

"Fire at will on those capital ships!" Aleister immediately barked as if his life depended on it, and it had "Scramble all fighters, and have the supporting fleet take completely defensive positions!"

In an instant 14 different rows of eight thick energy bolts had flown out of the guns and were pointed at different parts of one of the capital ships, a row had hit what looked like an exposed bridge off the underside of the front of the ship, while all of the other ones had hit the body. The ship was quickly turned into scrap.

Powering up for a second volley a blue protective sphere around the other capital ship had formed, upon impact only five of the rows of bolts impacted the ship proper, still creating massive inaudible pops of light before quickly extinguishing.

In mere seconds the enemy ships had started to fire back but with a shield of its own, the Orpheus Class Carrier tanked all of the fire by itself without a scratch. Like missiles the fighters not surrounding the slower bombers had all accelerated into max speed heading straight for the fleet around the capital ship, not wanting to be around when The Orpheus rains hell down on the enemy. The Aforementioned bombers had made their way under escort either to the other cruisers in the enemy Flotila or to the smaller Frigates.

In mere minutes the mighty fleet that was lording over the surrounding planet was completely reduced to slag and debris with only three frigates being moderately damaged. Interestingly there were absolutely no fighters from the enemy side, something that would be completely unheard of especially when there were massive hangers in the middle of the ships that had extended through the entirety of the hull, from the left of the ship to the right.

Well, it would have been unheard of until they realized the growing specs from the planet were 600 Starfighters, presumingly providing support to any ground invasion or destroying any possible defensive infrastructure.

but seeing that the entire fleet was basically lost they had all turned around before any fighting could happen.

"Your majesty, we are being hailed from two planetary installations!"

"Do we know which side they are on?"

"One of them is presumably a Stigquit Line as the frequency is coming from the capital city, while the other is coming from what looks like a ground invasion force"

"Put this mysterious force thru maybe they will identify themselves or it would be possible to identify them"

"Of course your majesty!"

In an instant a hideous alien-like face with small thin tentacles snaking out of its cheeks with unnatural sharp cut chins and a polygon head had appeared on a hologram; from the start even though they couldn't visibly tell its emotion due to a seeming lack of eyebrows, you could instantly tell that it was absolutely livid due to its movement.

"hè baw bunhaw un ṣè iz hè utta ṣè fiyech zhet baph jo" looking at the assistant to the left Aleister had nodded at him, who quickly pressed multiple buttons before having a surprised look

"pà hà lia ba e gèyl- don't ignore us, what is your purpose!!!"

"Caesseians," The assistant told the nodding Aleister

"Oh, the filthy leaches, the filthy lucky leaches" The Caesseian almost laughed pitifully, to which Aleister simply nodded to another assistant. If one was looking outside of the ship then they could see an almost rapid fire from all of The main Etherian Class Guns, all of them firing at one fixed point. Because of the power of the guns, it only required full power against capital ships, while more powerful it takes almost a full two seconds to repower. if used with Half or even Quarter power then these two seconds could be reduced to mere fractions of a second. it was currently shooting eight times every second, Even though the power is significantly less, firing upon an unshielded planetary base without any natural protection from a mountain or something similar this power is still enough to reduce them to nothing.
