Chapter 9 : Eris Hart
The ball started to glow a unique color. It was a green color. Emerald Green. Seeing the sudden surprise, Shiro was taken a back.
"This... This is. No way. How is this possible?!" Said Shiro in a surprising tone.
His eyes were widened, sweats was forming on his forehead.
"What's wrong?" Asked Arthur.
"This color shouldn't exist anymore." Replied Shiro.
"What do you mean?" Asked Eris in a worried but confused tone.
"This color represents the Elfs. But they were supposed to be extinct 7 years ago." Said Shiro.
"Uhm..." Expressed Eris in a concerning tone.
Both Shiro and Arthur looked at Eris.
"Are you an Elf?" Asked Arthur.
Eris was a bit concerned. She didn't wanted to answer. She started to sweat down her forehead.
"Uhm... Ye... Yes..." Replied Eris while looking down.
She was concerned that Arthur won't be her friend anymore. She thought Arthur will be mad.
"Oh my god!" Said Arthur by grabbing Eris' hands and started to jump in excitement.
Seeing Arthur's excitement, Eris was a bit taken back.
"Are you not mad? Do you not hate me?" Asked Eris.
"Why should I?" Said Arthur while jumping.
He also added, "You are Eris, my friend. That's what matters to me more. Not your race."
Hearing this, tears started to roll down Eris' cheeks.
"Why are you crying? I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?" Apologized Arthur after seeing Eris cry.
"It's not that. It's just, I thought you would hate me for being an Elf. Everyone also hated me." Said Eris while trying to hold her tears back. But she couldn't.
"You don't have to worry about that anymore. You're Arthur's friend." Said Shiro
"Yeah! Big bro Shiro is right. You're my friend." Added Arthur.
Hearing this, Eris started to cry louder.
Arthur panicked again but Shiro was smiling.
After a while, Eris calmed down and wiped her tears off. She was still having hiccups from her cryings but she was able to get over it.
Shiro asked, "Eris, this might be a hard question to answer, but how did you get here?"
"Ummm." Replied Eris.
[FLASHBACK]
[ERIS POV]
It was 7 years ago that that incident occured.
Our kingdom, Silvendell, was a flourishing kingdom. People were happy. Children including me, always used to play around the town.
Silvendell is a kingdom on the far south inside the great forest of Midgard. The kingdom is surrounded by a barrier that prevents from anyone finding it thanks to the world tree. Which is why Silvendell was never found by anyone. The kingdom is blessed with greenery. City streets were full with vendors and people. The buildings were beautiful and rich. Birds and other animals would sometimes play around the city.
One day, a man appeared near the forest of our kingdom. He was injured.
My father, Elvin Silver took that man to treat him. My father was a really kind man. He had long silver hair with green eyes. His eyes were really kind. I didn't trust that man as he was a scary looking guy. But still my father told me to not judge someone by their looks.
My mother, Elisa Silver took responsibility to treat that man. My mother was proficient on healing magic. She had dark long black hair just like night sky. My mother always had a serious look. But even through her serious face, she always cared for people. I would sometimes take care of that man as per my parents' orders.
He appeared to be in his 30s. He had a muscular body. He was tall, almost 7 ft tall. He had short black hair with brown eyes.
At first I thought he was scary looking. But as time passed we started to get closer.
His name Vale Eval.
Apparently he was an archeologist. He was researching the forest to write a journal. While he was camping, suddenly bandits attacked him. Which is why he was found injured.
His arrival caused quite a stir in the kingdom as we have never let a human inside our kingdom. Many was excited while the others were a bit nervous. But he quickly won the hearts of our citizens including my parents too. They adored him.
One day, my father, Elvin called Vale inside the castle throne room.
My father was sitting on the throne as I was standing beside him.
Vale came and knelt before my father.
"Oh, the great king of Silvendell. I have arrived as per your order." Said Vale as he was kneeling in front of my father.
"Didn't I tell you Eval? You don't need to be so formal with me." Said my father while giving of a gentle smile.
"Anyway, the reason I called you here is because I need a favor. I want you to treat my daughter, Eris." Added my father.
I was a bit red. I was playing with my hair while avoiding eye contact.
Vale looked at my father, he smiled, "I absolutely would love to tutor princess Eris."
I gave of a big smile. I was so happy. "Yay!!!"
My father smiled and pat my head, he said to me, "I'm so happy for you Eris."
I was jumping in joy.
Vale was appointed as my history teacher. He was a really smart person. He always looked at me with a gentle smile like my father.
As months passed, me and Vale became even closer to each other. We would sometimes go to the library together. He would always go on a walk with me.
One day, vale asked me something.
"Is it okay if I can see the world tree?"
It was a sudden question but I agreed.
He added, "I wanted to always see the magical world tree 'Yggdrasil'. It's always been a dream to see it up close."
I agreed that we'll go to the Yggdrasil next day.
As the next day came,
"Thank you for allowing me to enter the Yggdrasil, princess Eris." Bowed Vale.
"It's no problem!" I replied while shaking my hands.
Yggdrasil is a huge tree. So huge that you can't even see the top of it. It is called the world tree. This tree keeps every animal and life on this planet alive.
As we've arrived at the base of the tree, there was a door. The door lead to the control room.
The control room is a room filled with many technologies that other races never had. From here everything is controlled within the kingdom.
As we've entered, an elf greeted us, "Welcome to the control room, princess Eris and Sir Vale. What brought you two here?" Greeted the elf while bowing.
She was a young elf on her 20s. She had beautiful shoulder height sea like blue hair. She was indeed one of the prettiest girl in the kingdom. She was wearing a formal gray suit and pants.
"Sir Vale wanted to just take a tour of the world tree." I replied.
"Oh, I see. Then, do you need any guide?"
"It's okay. I can show him around the tree."
"Well then, I wish you two a great tour." Said the elf as she moved out of the way while bowing.
"Thank you." Said Vale.
We kept on walking. I showed Vale around the room. The room was full with different technologies. You can see the city streets and roads on large screens. Many buttons were below the screens. Seeing this, I could tell that Vale was really surprised and shock.
"This is the defense section. The barrier you see around the entire kingdom is controlled in this room. This is the most important section in this whole kingdom." I said as I showed Vale around the room.
"I've never seen technologies like these." Said Vale while his eyes were open.
"Haha. The Elven kingdom is blessed with all these technologies thanks to the world tree." I said while giving of a slight smile.
"Anyway, lets go to the military section now." I added while I started to walk the other way.
Vale followed me soon.
We arrived at the military section. The military section is similar like the defense section. But it has a different job. Instead of the streets on the screens, they show the vital signs of the military power.
"In the military section, all of the elves get their strength. Without this section, we will be powerless. The military section is important for our army in case of any emergency." I said as I kept on looking at the vital signsls.
"Oh! So this is how they get their strength, huh?" Said Vale as he was smiling.
His smile was a bit different this time. It wasn't the usual gentle smile that I always see.
"What's wro-" I said as I suddenly got interrupted by a loud alarm.
*Beep! Beep!*
It was the alarm of an invasion.
I looked at the vital screens and saw many elves who were guarding the border of the kingdom dead. Their vital signals were gone.
"Wait here! I'll be back!" I said as I ran off.
I went to the entrance of the world tree to go out to check what was happening.
The lady elf who was standing at the door blocked me.
"Princess Eris, you can't get out right now. It is dangerous outside!"
"But!" I tried to say something but she cut me off.
"No but! His Majesty ordered me to keep you safe."
*Boom!*
As she said that, a sudden explosion happened behind me.
The explosion came from the defense section.
As shockwave ran through the air, the lady elf protected me. But she got injured because of the shockwave.
"Are you okay!?" I screamed.
"Huff. Huff... I'm alright. What about you princess?" Panted the lady elf as she blocked the sudden shockwave.
I looked over her shoulder and saw a man standing in front.
