I looked at the book in hands in shock. This is something that completely terrifies me so much. But it wasn't something that made my stomach churn in disgust. I literally thought he was a rapist or part of the mafia yesterday. But this. I did not expect this. This can't be real. I looked at him as he was standing there looking to the side. He looks very much worried. Is this real? It can't be. This strong well built man is not human. I stand up placing the old book in my bed. I mean. His bed. This is his room. He gave me his bedroom to sleep comfortably and safe. His journal even showed the schematic of the bedroom. There is a escape hatch for emergencies. Leading to a cave deep in the forest.
I even saw ideas of a underground city for emergencies. He has so much planned ahead for more than 20 people in here. Emergency money saved up. Like he has everything planned out. Hunters want to reveal their existence but they wanna do it by raging war as they want to show that this beings are monsters and not something to have emotions. I swallowed a lump. My mind won't believe this whole information but seeing his reaction my heart is plummeting in fear. I just didn't understand any of this. A whole different world. There are more out there than us humans and animals. I knew there was more to this life but I did not expect all that.
I take steps back and just looked at him with wide eyes. Is it all true. He takes a step towards me his hand extended towards me and I just flinched. He looks at me with sad eyes as I take another step back. He looks completely hurt for what I am doing and it is hurting me also. I just can't believe any of this. His hand lands to his side defeated. It hurts me to see him like that but I want to now everything but I just did not expect any of this. I looked around and just didn't expect to be revealed this world. Is it real? Is it true? I just can't keep it all in my mind.
"Is... Is this real? Your not joking?" I asked him a bit afraid
He tried to extend his hand but I flinched again and seeing the hurt in his eyes was hurting me but he spoke lowly "Y-Yeah... This is real... Everything you have heard and read is real"
"But how? How long?" I asked confused
"Before humans called themselves the top of the food chain..." he tells me as he places his hand on his shoulder
Seeing him like that really worried me and I asked while looking down I wanted to hear him say the words "What am I to you? Officially... Or how do your kind call me?"
I felt completely useless but I wanted to hear him say the words just like what in the book says ""In my world you are known as my mate... A special someone for me until we die..."
I felt completely confused and just looked down "A special someone... So you never dated anyone?"
"No... I've been looking for my mate for so long that dating was a no for me..." he tells me with a gentle chuckle
I asked once again curiously "Is there a lot of you? Like are you guys born with it or chosen?"
That's the part I didn't fully understand "We are born with this... Even our destined lover is chosen before birth... Some are even kidnapped and killed before they even have an actual life or enslaved"
My heart plummets and I say panicked "Baby's? Children?"
"Yes... I have so much to exp..."
The door burst open with Ashton and a phone in hand "Alpha... This is Urgent..."
'Alpha...' So he like the leader of this pack. Lukas looks at me but went to take the call and walked outside. Ashton notifies me about Luke's needing to do some business and that I needed to rest. Now he spoke to me so differently. I sat down on the bed and just grabbed the notebook. The door closed leaving me completely alone. I didn't know what to do except keep reading. So much information. So much to learn. But the more I read the more fear I have in me. I swallowed a lump as I was reading the past information.
How it all started. I yawned gently as I was almost half way through the book. So many things. Damn. I closed my eyes to yawn a bit and I just stretched my body a little bit as I laid back on the bed as my eyes ached a bit.
~Dream~
I was able to run away from my owner I am completely terrified and I did it a month and a half ago. I know he is looking for me. I don't want to be a bait dog anymore. I want to be away from any human. I need to learn how to turn into a human again. I need to hide from him I have to try and take the damn collar from my neck. I tried scratching it of but nothing worked.
I am completely terrified of going back to the man. I don't want to go back. The scent of another shifter was close by and all I needed to do was reach the shifter. They can help me hide and find the police in some way.
I did my best to run around but man it is taking so long. All I could do was run around terrified as I felt eyes on me and all I can do right know is avoid other humans. I started panting as I kept on running. I am so thirsty I need water. I started jogging as I heard someone whistle and so I stopped and looked behind me.
There stood a nice lady as she had a bag in hands. I felt terrified and my tail get in between my legs. She had placed something on the floor and it smelled really nice. What is that smell? It is not a bone? The woman walked away from the food and I tilt my head gently as I walked to it terrified. I looked around afraid. I listened around and did not notice anybody. The only scent I caught was the lady who left the food on the floor.
When close I sniffed it. It smells really nice. I grabbed a small piece and it wasn't really that bad. My stomach roared in hunger and being that this is the best food I have ever had in my whole life. I wanted more. There was a larger piece in front of me and I took a few steps with my snout down and I took a bite of it.
I heard a step and I jumped to the side terrified. My ears fall back and I saw the lady again. Do not trust humans. They are all the same. I looked to the side panicked and saw nobody so I need to take this opening to run. I heard another step and in a far distance I see a male. I sensed something different from him. He is not human. My ears raised up and our eyes connected.
My eyes wide open as I felt fear the moment he yelled out "IT'S A SHIFTER!"
My whole body tensed up as the lady yelled in return "But shifters are never this long in animal form... Nevertheless a collar on..."
I forgot to say. The human world knows about the supernatural world. It is illegal to keep any supernatural creature or thing as a pet nor slave. They are given human rights as they have normal human DNA mixed into their blood cells. That did not stop the black market in selling our parts and selling us off as pets or slaves.
I felt something wrap around my neck and I jumped in panic. I whined and whined as I tried escaping. I could hear their voices so clear but I wanted to run away. I tried biting whatever was around my neck. But I couldn't reach it. I stopped to look forward to the presence and I cried out. I couldn't do any human sounds in this form.
I never could. I bared my teeth to the unknown thing in front of me and he had his hands in front of him. I snapped at him and he flinched. The girl tried to advise him to be careful. I tried snapping at him again but he didn't go back. He didn't back away.
"Calm down shifter... I am here to help you" he tells me gently as he walks closer to me
I opened my mouth still bearing my teeth at him "Does she not speak?"
"No... Whoever had her... Had her for too long and had not respected the laws abusing her for all this time..." he comments as he is right in front of me
'I have never been let to speak so all I could do is think' I snapped at him closer to his face but I was yanked back. I coughed strongly and I jumped for a bit trying to remove the thing around my neck. I didn't want it anymore.
"She sounds so frustrated... Annoyed even for the person responsible..." he had spoken and I looked at him
'You heard me?' I thought towards him and all I could do was take a step back afraid. She looks between us and the man holding me with this thing around my neck. I turn around thinking it was just a joke as I tried biting through the thing to run away.
"Yes I can hear you..." I tensed up frozen in the spot "I can hear all your thoughts... I am an angel that assists your kind and animals included... Please allow me to access your memories to help you"
'NO!' Tears started escaping in fear and he had fallen in his butt surprised "What happened Angelos..."
"Whoever did what they did to her... Is completely traumatized by it... Call Keela Director of the Shifter Protection Services we have a big case here" he says as he points to the woman
'Leave me alone... I don't want to go back' I felt fear rise up inside of me and I tried getting away one more time. I think he even tried to touch me but I snapped at him. I cried out in fear as a something wraps around my snout. I started jumping around. I tried slashing whatever surrounded my snout. But it did not work. It smelled like vines.
A Terrakinesis. He is the one trying to hold me still in place and try not to cut whatever the vine around my snout it. I think he is protecting his companion from being bitten by me. I pulled as much as I could whining wheezing and coughing. Whatever I had around my throat had tightened and I couldn't breath well.
"She orders to bring the Shifter to her location... As soon as you can Angelos" the woman had spoken
I didn't hear any other voice but I was not gonna be taken a live. I started pulling trying to run away. I heard something screech and I looked to the side panicked. A car. I saw that mans face. He looks very angry at me. I could hear the curse words coming from his mouth from inside the car. Whatever held me around my neck had pulled me back.
~End of Dream~
I snap awake while holding on to my neck in panic. That dream felt so real. Oh my god. Does that happen to the little pups here in real life? Do they get captured like that? I know Luke tried explaining everything to me and is wanting time to himself because of something he must do. But how long will he leave me alone? Did I say something bad? I looked at the book by the bed and that's when I noticed I had fallen asleep with this awkward position.
What will happen next?
