Chereads / The Last White Wolf / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

I could hear the soft whispers of my mother and father down the hall. I think sometimes they forget my hearing surpasses even their own. I never could understand why my senses were more enhanced than everyone else, but I never asked questions. The only question I ever asked was why I was not allowed to shift into my wolf around anyone but them. They quickly spat out that I'd learn when I was 'mature' enough.

"I think it's time to send her to the academy, she's seventeen, two years past when she should've found her mate. He isn't here, plus she needs to train like a warrior. We've done all that we can do." my father's voice said with a tinge of sadness.

"Declan I'm scared for her, when she's there she will have to show everyone her wolf and she will be faced with the truths we can not bring ourselves to tell her."

"I know mags, but it's the best thing we could do for her, I'll talk to her tomorrow about the plans."

My mother let out a soft sigh, I listened to her soft footsteps, and the door to my father's office closed before she walks up to my door and silently pushes it open. I can feel the sadness and fear radiating off her as I pretend to sleep.

I don't want to leave here. I hear my wolf Persephone whisper into my mind.

I know I don't either

What will we do when we have to shift in front of other people for the first time? What will they say?

They will tell us the truth my parents have been keeping from me.

I let out a sigh of frustration before I rolled over and picked up the small vile of oil from my nightstand. Rubbing the soft lavender and vanilla scent on my temples and behind my ears. Even with the help of the oils I still fought sleep. Drifting away after what felt like hours into a seamless dark sleep.

"Wake up Freya, we need to talk." my father practically yelled and flipped on the lights, making me pull the covers up and groan. I slowly get up and walk behind my father, the weight of the conversation to come honing down on me.

"You're going to Blood Moon Academy, there's no room for argument. You can choose two others to go with you for company, but choose wisely they will be the start of your high archly. You have my and your mother's permission to shift whenever with whoever you want when you get there. They will train your wolf as well as your human."

I sigh listening to my dad babble on and on about what he expects from me, I stopped listening to think about who I'd take. There are only 4 other females my age that is unmated. Yoni, the betas daughter, is a fierce and strong will. I'd probably definitely pick her she was one of my best friends. Then there what Charleston. My other half of stupidy. My best friend was above everyone else. She was low on the ranks, about as low as you could get, but I've never been one for titles.

"I'll take Charleston and Yoni," I said cutting my dad off. His face went void, most likely telling me my choices to be prepared.

"You leave today Freya, pack what you need and get ready, Yoni and Charleston are getting packed too they'll meet us here in two hours."

Getting up I walked to my room and packed. Mostly shorts, leggings, and t-shirts, my style never being the dressy type. I grabbed a few pairs of jeans and all the undies and bras I could fit before zipping up the two bags. My third bad got filled with soaps, deodorant, and enough of my oil to last a good two years. I grabbed my toothbrush and socks before kneeling in my closet and grabbing my olive green combat boots and tennis shoes. I was haunted when I saw the box I'd left there, a gift from my uncle on my last birthday. I opened it and pulled out a deep purple dress with lace and sparkles cascading down the floor. I'd always loved it, never getting the chance to wear it. I shoved the box and the black heels to go with it in the bag. The last I grabbed were two notebooks. One for drawing plants and their medical applications and one for my thoughts.

I heard the cats pulling up before anyone else did, alerting my parents of the two girls' arrivals. my father grabbed my three bags and moved outside to meet them. He threw my bags in the car before grabbing Yonis and Charlestons and doing the same. They said their goodbyes and hopped into my father's car, never once looking back as we drove away.

Most packs would never accept a female Alpha, but mine worshipped me. They never once turned their noses down at me for simply being a girl. The two girls in the back seat heal their heads high, happy to have been chosen. A couple of minutes into the drive my dad turns down a dirt road. What feels like hours later we pull into a clearing with a small jet in the middle. Two males grabbed our belongings and didn't give us chance to say goodbye before shoving us on the plane. My father mind linked me I do not know how long you will be gone for, but remember who you are Freya. The white wolf, you are the next Alpha of the moon shade pack and you never give in. I love β€”

His words get cut off as we venture too far away to still have the connection. I look at my two friends before me and smile

"Are you ready for an adventure, my betas?"

"Yes." They both said with wicked smiles.
