I must have dozed off, because when I woke up it was to the shaking from the male in front of me. My silver eyes shot open meeting his green with a snarl and flash of teeth.
"I like your spirit, now let's go." He said kinda hatefully but also oddly playfully. I lakes down the steps with the male behind me.
"All right, it's a ten mile run back to the training grounds, whoever gets there last has to clean up the mess hall after dinner." He says with a smirk.
"What's your name again?" Yoni asked, unflinching eyes bore into him.
" Damien, enough with the questions I'll answer them all later, now shift."
Yoni and Charlestons eyes snapped to me making me recoil a little in my skin. They've never seen my wolf.
"Who's the Alpha?" Damien asks.
I raise my hand timidly.
"You first then."
I walked behind a big oak tree my curly silver hair brush against my naked hips and I shift.
You are the Aloha of pack moonshade. You will not be afraid.
A snarl was all I got from my wolf as she confidently walked from behind the cover back to where the there wolves stood. Yoni and Charleston smiled at the white fur, hanging long and wavy, swaying in the wind. I had the sense they guessed my fur color a long time ago.
"Your white, great. The males are never going to leave you alone."
"Why not?" Yoni asks
"Because there hasn't been a white wolf know to us for hundreds of years. She's the only one."
That's why my parents hid my wolf. I never really understood, plus not many people knew the rarity of a pure white wolf. The other two girls more used to shifting in front of others, stripped down where they stood and shifted. Charleston a rich black and Yoni a blue-gray. The male did the same, shifting into his boring brown, the most common color of wolves. He started running north, and we followed.
As we got closer I could smell the sweat of bodies and stench of food before everyone else. Mingling in with the smells was pine and ash. My wolf whined knowing exactly what the smell was, she picked up her pace, full on sprinting past Damien and making her way out of the wood line. Everyone in the training fields stopped to look at the white wolf. Most noticing her sheer size to be bigger then all of them. Yoni and Charleston followed their form flanking my left and right.
Damien broke through the trees next panting and looking at me wild eyed, like he wasn't expecting any of us to beat him. A small female walked up with robes for us to cover up with after shifting back.
"Why aren't there any females training here?" I asked looking over to Damien.
"They are separate from males."
"They might not be for long." I chuckled winking at the girls behind me. We'd been training together since we were pups. As the males all shift closer to us a low growl seems to shake the Earth, accompanied by the scent of pine and ash. He walked through the parted crowd, and I felt the pull to him. He was tall and built like a god. Spiraling tattoos covered the little bit of arms I could see, stark against the olive skin. His eyes were a sea of blues, mixing and twirling like his tattoos. I had to keep myself from letting out a sign as he got closer, all other males stopping their pursuit.
He sniffs the air and turns to all the males looking, and waiting.
"She is mine, my mate." He said. As if it's all he had to say. He turned to me, canines bared waiting for me to grant him access to my neck. He stood taller than me and was bigger, but he didn't have my raw power.
"Let me mark you." He said
"When and IF you Mark me it will be my choice. I am not a plaything that can be taken. You earn me."
He ruffled up letting his power shoot out, trying to make me submit. I do have to say that the weight of his power has he straining against falling on my ass, but instead I threw out mine to meet his watching s as his eyes grew and his knees wobbled. I walked close to him, letting my lips graze his cheek, if only to drive him crazy. I whispered in his ear. "I wouldn't try that again." Brushing my lips over his cheek again I felt the hot tingle go ask the way down into my toes.
"Alrighty then here's the breakdown, girls rooms are on the left boys are on the right. If yours mates, you room together in the middle houses. There aren't many who have mates here with them so have fun by yourself." Damien said looking at me and the mate beside me.
"Up by 5. We eat, we do chores and we train. Some days wolf, some days human, some days the mind, to learn what your powers are. For instance, Odin here," He said putting at my mate, "he came here at 14 he didn't know what his power was. Demonstrate please Odin."
I watched as droplets of water filled the air, seeming to come from the ground and pool above the watching males heads, who eyes still linger on my dark skin and silver hair. Odin looks at me and smiled before dropping the wall of water all over the watching males.
Jealous mates. Persephone said with a roll of her eyes.
"Freya go with Odin to help him pack his stuff to move into the center building with you, your stuff will be there when you arrive, choose a room to share." Odin wants my way and tries to grab my hand but I pull it away before he can, making it clear it'll take more then that to win me over. He might be my mate but I will always get to make the choice of if I want him. We walks towards what I'm guessing is his old room. Silently I help him pack his things and move together into a new bedroom.
"You can choose the room you would like, I'm not picky." He says. So I do. Looking into the rooms until I find the one I want. Black walls, black ceiling. But everything else was white. The bed, the dressers, the curtains. Black and white. Just like me.
After we walk in it takes ten minutes before my bags arrive and we split the closet and drawers. I take my bag of soaps and other smellys to the bathroom, that contrasts oddly with the black and white room including it was green and gold. I unpacked everything I had, shoving my notebooks into the nightstand on the side of the bed I claimed, alone with the bottles of oils I brought leaving one out for later.
I notice Odin had done the same. Spreading his things and his scent around the room. God why did he have to smell so good, I'm trying to keep my composure here. The last thing I hold is the box from my uncle. "What's in the box that's got you so sad my little wolf?"
"It's the last thing my uncle gave me before he died, he was like a second dad to me."
"Can I see what it is?"
I took breath and opened the box.
