Chapter 38 - Ch 5 Antique (2)

The soul of your king cried out to you, child of mine. Would you like the full range of your power to protect them?"

"Wait, what? She isn't a king not even royalty according to her file."

"It does not matter what from the purple dragon takes, it is still your king."

"I don't serve kings; I serve the people." It seemed that the major was trying to back away, but he couldn't move in the bright void that was the connection between him and the yellow dragon.

"You will choose not to serve then!?" The yellow dragon raised up higher, "If you refuse me I will have to take my power from you. That will kill you, and probably more than a few of you close family, as the power searches for the next host."

"Wait, no. You are moving too quick. What is the purple dragon? What are you? What is going on? Where are we?"

The yellow dragon raised up to look down at the man. The yellow's white whiskers seemed to blow in a wind that couldn't be felt. "I am afraid I don't have time to waste answering your pointless questions, human. Will you serve your creator, king, lord, master, lady, queen, whatever you wish to call the purple dragon in whatever form it chooses to take? This is the last time I am asking, human. Would you like your full power knowing that if you let the purple dragon die, other then if it chooses to or you use the power I activate for you against the purple dragon it will kill you."

"I don't understand the choice you are giving me!"

"Does that matter? Your ancestors certainly didn't try and ask this many questions."

I could only watch at first this was crazy, I didn't understand what was going on myself. The yellow dragon dropped to face the man that looked like a tiny snack to the dragon when I figured out how to make my voice work. "Yellow! I need help!"

The yellow turned to face the source of the voice. "I know that is what your hairless monkey is for right, brother?"

"No, well yes but I need more help than that."

The yellow dragon turned his head like he was listening, "What is wrong?"

"Black is attacking my creations!"

"Black!?" Yellow froze all motion stopping for a moment like the breeze that only he felt died in that moment.

"Yes, please get the others, I cannot change forms just yet. Green already knows, but please hurry."

"But it will take time and we promised not to land on your rock anymore."

"My creations haven't stayed on my rock, brother."

"They haven't? Now this I must see. I will be there as soon as I can with our brothers. But first." The yellow dragon looked back at the human who couldn't see what the yellow dragon had been talking to. "Your king needs you, human. Your answer?"

"I-" the man looked around like he was trying to find an escape, then he seemed to think of something before nodding, "I will serve, give me the power."

The yellow dragon blew flames around the man who cried out in surprise. The world that was not the world spun and I found myself back in my body facing the man that had just agreed to serve the purple dragon.

Maybe it actually wasn't a myth? The man's yellow scales now shone and glittered in the light. He fell to one knee as I watched him, his head bowed. "The life you gave is yours to use, my king."

It still did not seem right at all, I am a 16-year-old girl, not a legendary leader or something. "Thanks, but live as you wish. Sorry." Why did I still find this so embarrassing?

Suddenly my head spun and I started to fall. Goliath was there before I got very far. "Are you ok, my king?" I took a moment to look for a smirk before responding but I didn't find one.

"Don't call me that, Goliath. I am fine. Other than the major sense of deja'vu."

I pushed against Goliath to show that I could stand on my own. He let me go but didn't back away. Joe had moved one step closer when I had started to fall but he had stopped when Goliath caught me. So, Goliath had been holding back while he sparred Joe. Goliath was faster.

After I was standing I looked at the yellow warrior. He was still kneeling even though I had told him to do what he wants. I sighed, "At least get up. What is your name? Since it seems like you are going to around for longer than I thought."

The soldier stood in one fluid motion. He was just a bit taller than me. His black body armor covered everything but his head. His blonde hair and bright blue eyes stood out against the almost ivory of his skin. He didn't look sick, but I didn't think he got much sunlight. His yellow scales blended with his short hair making it look like he almost didn't have ears. Yet if you looked closely you could tell that his were bigger than they should be. They started at the bottom of his chin and went to the top of his head before looping back down. There was no way for me to tell how big they really were as he seemed to put his armor over them, as they ran down his neck.

He stood and then paused like something hadn't gone as expected. He looked at me then answered, "Major Andrew Cole, miss. You are safe now."

I couldn't help but smile. "Either you are too early or too late, because yet again you saved me when I was already safe. Major I hope you remember, Goliath here." I waved at Goliath and then Joe. "That is Joe the head of house security. You might want to have a conversation with him about uniform in the house and when I go out. You might be military but last I checked I am a private citizen. After that conversation you and Joe are welcome to join me in the private dining room for lunch. We clearly have some things to talk about."

The major nodded, "Yes, mam."
