Then he said, " Of course we have met before. How else would we know each other?" "I mean before, have we met before that day at the restaurant?" I asked.
And he just didn't answer instead he said he had to leave then he got up and left. Him leaving felt so familiar too and I unconsciously started crying I did not even realize until I saw the tears drops falling on me.
I just sat there crying for hours until it started raining. I just let myself get rained on. It felt like someone was actually crying with me.
Then suddenly the rain drops weren't falling on me anymore. I looked up and saw an umbrella and Ahmya was holding it. "You are still here?"he asked. I stood up and said, " I was just about to leave."
I turned around and walked away. I went back inside the hospital and saw some of my mum's friends there. "Hello," I said. "Oh, Hailey, long time no see," one of them said. "We are so sorry about your mum I don't why she would commit suicide," another one of them said. That made my blood boil.
"Excuse me, but I do not want you to talk about that," I said. I stormed out of the hospital and walked home it was almost seven o'clock and I had not slept. As soon as I got home I took a long bath and then put on the prettiest black dress I had. I went to the indoor car park of my house and picked out the fanciest most expensive car and drove it to the restaurant.
I walked into the restaurant and just stared at Ahmya, Mako, Sana, Tana and Chikao. I had met them a while before that day at the restaurant then where and when had we met. I just could not put my finger on it.
"Um...are you just going to stare at us," Chikao said. I just stared at them as if I was hypnotised or something. "Hello?" Mako said waving his hand in front of my face. And then I snapped out of it.
"What?" I asked. "Are you okay?" Tana asked. "Yeah... yes I am," I said. "Wait, no. I am not okay," I said. "Why not?" Sana asked. "We met before last week, didn't we," I said but they all just stared at me like I was insane. I was not going to let them stay silent. "Won't you say anything?" I asked.
They did not say anything. "Then if you are not going to answer then answer this, are you human?" I asked. They could not say anything.
I realized since they were not even bothering to lie or was it they could not lie. "Can't you even lie? Then you can correct me if I am wrong," I said. They just continued to stare at me.
"Look, we don't know what you are talking about," Ahmya said. And then he fell to the ground as if he had been struck by lightning or something. They helped him up and made him sit on a chair.He looked like he was in so much pain and he just stared at me then he looked away. "I hope you are satisfied now?" Sana said. "That was a lie wasn't it. He was punished for lying," I said.
"That's enough," Chikao said. "Why don't you also tell me I am wrong? I want to see what will happen," I said. "Why don't you just tell the truth?" I asked. "Do you know how much you put us through?" Mako asked. "No. Why don't you tell me?" I asked.
"Erase her memory," Ahmya said. "Wait, what?" I thought. I knew I had to act fast so tried to turn around and run, but that was the stupidest thing I had ever done. Chikao teleported in front of me and said, "This is for your own good." "No. It's not for you guys to decide what is for my good or bad. It is for me to decide. Who do you think you are really?" I scolded.
"You don't know what is good for anyone!" Sana screamed. "You know we are all in this mess because of you!"
I don't even know why, but I felt very hurt by his comment. "Fine, erase my memory," I said tears running down my face. "Make you erase the time that we met too," I said. They just stared at me. "What are you waiting for! Erase it before I figure anything else out!" I said.
"I am counting to three. One, two...three," I said. "Since you are not doing anything, I am leaving," I said and walked away. I got into my car and drove to the bridge again this time I wasn't going to wait I was just going to jump.
I climbed over the railing and jumped off. It was much higher than it looked and as I fell down I wondered why my life had turned upside down in just two days.
"This really is the end," I thought as I was falling. Everything felt as if it was in slow motion.
Then time stopped, no literally time stopped. And then I started going up instead of down. Time was going backwards and then after I was standing on the bridge again time started flowing normally again. "How dare they have the audacity to do that," I said and got into my car. I drove to the restaurant again. I stormed in furiously.
"How dare you interfere again!" I scolded. Then suddenly Ahmya walked up to me and asked, "Do you want to die?" "Yes," I replied. "Then will you date me again when you die?" Ahmya asked.
