Prince Author grew up in a castle like all the wealthy friends he knew in school. He went to a proper school with many princes and princesses ,but he found it so boring .He had to always act properly and wear fine gentlemen's clothes ever since he was just 12 years old. Her father king Alfred would help him put on his tie and tell him, " Now you look like a proper prince and one day you will rule this kingdom." Author and other plans he liked to sail in a boat out in the ocean , he once sneaked out of the house and went to the sea port and sat in one of the boats and used the oars to row it. His gardener Sam used to teach him how to row a boat down the stream. They would sing this song together, " Row, row ,row your boat gently down the stream , merrily merrily life is but a dream." They would laugh and have fun together, Sam was like a second father to Author , he taught Author how to sail a boat and swim and also how to catch some fishes.
One day he came running to his mother carrying a net full of fish and yelling, " Mother ! Mother! look what I got !" His mother was pleased and took to the net saying, " That's great Author now I will take it to the kitchen and the cook will cook them for dinner." Author loved spending time with Sam every afternoon after school when his father was busy going about his affair. Author would go to Sam and sail with him in the boat ,they would fish together and Sam taught Author how to swim and he always had a fun time with him.
Once in the castle, Author looked outside his window and saw his father talking with Sam but it didn't seem like a friendly conversation. Author was curious and went to the garden and hid behind the bushes to listen to their conversation. King Alfred told Sam, " This is enough money for you to live comfortably ,so you can begin to pack your stuff and leave tomorrow." Sam was confused, " But why your majestic if I have done something wrong please tell I will promise to do better ,I love working as a gardener in your castle. " King Alfred told him, " Well you are not doing your job properly all I see is that you are taking my son sailing everyday and that is making him forget his duties as prince so I think I paid you more than handsomely so that you can live comfortably until you find a new job." Sam cried, " Your majesty it is not about the money, please I love working here and I feel your family is like my own." King Alfred said, " That is the problem Sam you were just a gardener when you came and you took advance of our kindness and turned it into you being part of this family now the only thing I have left to tell you is that I am going for a few hours and when I come back I don't expect to see you again."
When Author saw his father leave he rushed to Sam's side and hugged him." Oh Sam please don't go if you do I will come with you." Sam really loved Author but didn't want to show it. He said,'' Author, go back to your room and this is not a goodbye. I promise to visit as much I can possibly come. You take care of yourself. Author began to have tears in his eyes and ran to his room, he thought to himself , " This is unfair I am going to lose a dear good friend." He looked in his room and saw a picture of him and Sam at the bedside table. He held it and said " I am going to miss you Sam." When he placed the picture back on the table ,he saw a pack back under it. He took it out and that gave him an idea, "I got it ! I will pack some stuff and follow Sam ."
So he packed only his essential belongings and got some money from his piggy bank and sneaked out of the castle without anyone finding out. He saw Sam leaving the castle and he followed from afar so that he can not notice him , Sam sat on a bench next to the bus stop , and there was a crowd of people waiting also so when the bus parked he waited till Sam and the rest of the passengers get in and finally he was the last one to get inside. He saw that Sam was sitting in the far end of the bus , he kept his eye on Sam so when he leaves the bus Author will follow him the next time the bus stopped Sam went out and Author did also ,Author couldn't wait to surprise Sam he kept an eye on him and followed him he was about to surprise him and then someone snuck up behind him and grabbed him and covered his mouth , Sam began moaning and moving his to get out of the man's grip ,the man stared at him and said, " What are you doing here in this area little boy ? Are you lost ? Well for a hundred bucks I can take you back."
Sam felt worried he doesn't like talking to strangers so he didn't reply ,he bit the man's fingers, and the man screamed, "Ouch you little rascal ! I will show you how.." The man was about to slap him until Sam heard Author screaming and went to his rescue . He grabbed the man by his shoulders and pinned him down on the ground and said, " You leave this boy alone or else you will answer to me." The man began shaking in his boots, " I am sorry I didn't know he was with you." Sam let him go." Now his with me alright now go before I call the police on you." The man ran off so fast and left. Author went and hugged Sam , " Sam you saved me." Sam looked at him with a frown, " What are you doing here Author your parents must be worried sick about you?" Author confessed to him the truth, " I followed you because I wanted to stay with you." Sam said to him, " Let me take you back home now and I promise you I will visit you soon and you have to promise me you will never run away again." Author agreed ,so Sam took him back to the castle .
As was expected his father was worried about him and at the same time was mad at him for running away , Sam explained the situation to them as gently as he could and when he was about to leave king Alfred stopped him, " Sam wait I need to talk to you." King Alfred, Author and Sam discuss their current situation, King Alfred explained, " I didn't like this relationship you had with my son Author but now I am beginning to understand it better and I think you should stay." Author was so glad that his father decided to keep Sam , he went and gave him a hug of appreciation and Sam thanked him as well because he got his job back.
Years later back in the castle , Author was getting dressed to go and see Anna. He couldn't get her out of his mind since yesterday when he helped heal her injured foot. He told himself, " I have been searching for a long time now for someone like you Anna , maybe fate had brought us together for a reason." He recalled the young man he saw carrying flowers for Anna. " Could he be her lover?' He thought." No he couldn't, he seems like a poor beggar ." Author recalled Anna telling him, " I hope to see you soon." Author smiled, " Well Anna I have a surprise for you, today is the day we will see each other." After he got ready he went down to saddle his horse , he saw his father coming towards him and said, " Good morning my son, I see you are going out so early and you are looking so fine. May I ask where you are going at this hour? "
Author replied , " Father I am off to King Jame's castle , I had an encounter yesterday with his daughter princess Anna and she invited me to visit her." His father laughed and said, " King Jame's daughter, that is such a fine match for you my son. Then don't keep her waiting ,I leave you to go and see her." Author then rode his horse to the castle.
