Chereads / His last hurrah [BL] / Chapter 26 - No fake friends.

Chapter 26 - No fake friends.

"Now, this is the Andy that I knew before!" Exclaimed Antonia after we left the nursery. I was in uncle duty that day.

"I don't want to know why that issue came to your head but, girl you need to drop it" I said leading the way to her kitchen.

I couldn't have known just how much of a beauty their house was if I was blind when I stayed there. But, the house was so sexy yet simple. Five stars to the architect, which was me by the way.

Taking out a box of juice from the fridge and drinking straight from it with a clear intention to irritate the girl before me. And just like everything with me, it was a success.

"Didn't your parents ever taught you manners?"

"It pains me to say that they are dead, stars in the sky"

"Fuck you Andy! and don't think that this will keep my claws away from your business"

"You need to start a diet, Tity"

"You think so? Troy said I was okay though"

"Tsk tsk, And you believed him?" I remarked with my head shaking in sympathy making her doubtful. She looked so cute with her thoughtful expression.

"Look who's talking" retorted Antonia with a roll of her eyes before she came to drag me outside where there was a pool and a sitting area beside it where we sat down.

"What do you want to know?" I asked with a sigh. I couldn't cut her off all the time.

"Tell me you dumped that rude *sshole"

"Mind your tongue little girl he's my husband" I said more seriously than it was needed in that situation. I couldn't believe my mind, why was I so overprotective of Damon?.

"Are you that serious about him?" Asked Antonia eyeing me keenly reminding me of his bright hawk eyes...

"Fuck! Are you seriously blushing right now?" Exclaimed Antonia in shock making me laugh aloud.

"Is his dick that magical?" Asked Antonia in awe.

"Language Antonia, you're a mother now!" Came Troy's stern voice from the front door. Didn't know if we were that loud or it was just Troy and his busybody ears.

"Sorry, my bad baby" Said Antonia panicking before she stood to walk to her husband. What a lamb.

"Let me help you with that" she said taking the briefcase and suit coat from Troy who kissed her forehead tenderly.

"How was your day, mommy?" Asked Troy gently, walking behind Antonia who was leading him towards the stairs to their bedroom.

"It was okay mostly... Umhm, my brother is here" Replied Antonia pointing to where I was sitting.

"That explains the foul language" Said Troy and I had to gasp. That was quite an offense if you ask me.

"Hey! I too have a heart you know?" I complained making Troy laugh and Antonia giggle like a little girl.

"Does that thing of yours use blood?" Asked Troy sarcastically and I sneered at him.

"Can you cut it out?" Reprimanded Antonia with a bored tone.

"Sorry" We said in sync before Troy walked up to me and shook my hand.

"Andy my guy!" Greeted Troy with so much enthusiasm.

"Just go! I could even feel your impatience from afar to have her to yourself" I said and he chuckled.

"You know me best!" He said before running up to his wife.

It was two weeks after my goodbye hugging and kisses and hello to my single life space. I was okay on the most part of it but, I was feeling so fucking lonely and mostly at times just after a phonecall with Damon.

We weren't those lovers who would talk every chance they got and stay awake all night just to hear from each other. Sometimes it can even take three days before we get to talk again and I found it quite enticingly sweet. I hate the constant check ups like I stole someone's kidney or something.

"Sorry for the temporary abandonment, Andy" I heard Antonia say before she walked to the poolside.

"No sweat, it feels great to be away from you sometimes" I said dryly and she slapped my arm playfully.

"Ooh, and before I forget, Met Adam the other day when I went shopping" Said Antonia as she was sitting beside me.

"Adam who?" I asked feigning ignorance.

"Your friend from college?" Supplied Antonia with a questioning mark. She really didn't understand my reply because if it was me of the past? I would have been ecstatic to hear that someone asked for my whereabouts.

"That's an acquaintance now" I replied casually

"I thought you guys were close and everything" Antonia probed with concern rising.

"Now we are not" I said with certainty.

"What happened?" Asked Antonia worriedly holding my hands in her's.

"I fortunately grew up" I told her with a small smile.

"Well, I didn't know all that before so, I gave him your current phone number" Said Antonia with a shrug. Gone was the heartfelt moment we just shared.

"It's not your fault and..., it's time for me to bounce" I said before standing up.

"Why the rush?" Asked Antonia with a raised eyebrow.

"You took up my whole day. What more?" I questioned and she gave out her most pleading expression.

"How about spending the night here?" Suggested Antonia with her sweet voice.

"I got a job to wake up to" I said self-righteously.

"Working for your sweetheart is hardly a job" Replied Antonia dryly.

"Screw you! And, I'm out" I said walking out with Antonia on my toes.

"God, I love your life!" Said Antonia with passion and I chuckled. It was like the first too when she saw my entourage in her parking lot. I had like ten bodyguards all standing at attention.

"Too bad you ain't me" I gloated with a shameless glow before I got inside my car.

It took us no time before we were on our way home. I was never a fan of the majestic services I was given but, it was growing on me.

"We are here, Mr Sybil" Jacob, my head of security told me after the car stopped in front of my apartment building.

"Thank you" I said politely before I got out of the car and started to walk in. I was still afraid of a repeat of what happened there two weeks before and no amount of security guards could convince me otherwise.

People are scary sometimes. Even scary than your worst fear.

And friends are your worst nightmare. I could even imagine how Adam looked when he met Antonia that day. Such a hypocrite.

I was thankful that day when I walked in on them mocking me behind my back. If not for that pain I would've never known the freeing sense of having no fake friends.

It was best to have no friends at all than having a lot of fake ones.
