"Ah." Lora was looking at the stunning look around the night road when she bumped into someone.
"Are you okay?" She was a girl like Lora. She gave a hand to Lora to stand.
"Thank you." When that girl helped Lora to dust off Lora's clothes, she thanked her. That girl nodded her head. Lora did not expect a stranger to be that friendly while everyone seemed to piss off around her.
"Do you want one?" That girl asked Lora when she saw Lora looking at the hot dog cart. "No." Lora felt shy. She had never seen anything like that in her entire life. She always ate dormitory foods, canteen foods, or home foods. Her home foods were also same as the dormitory foods.
Since it was 'Highness Royal College', the food were somehow delicious.
So she never had any experience with street foods. Lora did not even know what street foods were and what the name of that bun called, what she saw a man behind the cart make. Lora thought everyone loved that food.
It looked like they enjoyed their buns and Lora got curious. That girl with wavy middle-length hair and brownish eyes looked at Lora, giggling. Lora wanted to try them but she was afraid. Besides she had no money to buy them.
"You want it." The girl nodded her head and went near to the food cart.
"Two sub rolls, please." She ordered two sub rolls from the food cart which was in front of them and waited until the owner of the cart finished making two for them, smiling at Lora. Lora felt a little uneasy. She dug the ground with a toe, rubbing her hands together.
She wanted to runaway but she stood still like she was glued onto the floor.
"Here is your order young lady." The food cart owner gave them their order with honorifics and Lora was amazed by their unusual talk. That girl greeted him downing her head a little bit, when she took two sub rolls with her both hands. She came near Lora and offered her one sub roll.
"Thank you." Lora took it from both hands, thanking her with a low voice. "Don't mention." She smiled with Lora again. This time Lora smiled back at her. She wanted to spend time with that girl, though they did meet a while ago. "By the way, I'm Samura." That girl, Samura told her name, taking a bite from her sub roll.
Lora stopped and giggled. "My name is Lora." She extended her hand towards Samura. "You are really beautiful Lora, So is your name." They shook hands.
They walked on the path freely under the trees. Lora took a deep breath enjoying the breeze air in the fall. Middle of every two trees there was one cart. everyone had decorated in fall concept and yellow little LED bulbs were hanging around them. Even the street lamps gave a yellow shine.
Samura watched Lora while eating her roll. Looking at how Lora was amazed by everything around her, she thought maybe Lora was not live here. She felt the same thing as Lora. She wanted to know if they can be friends.
"Eat this while it's hot. otherwise, you cannot taste the best of that." Samura said since Lora has not got a bite from her sub roll. Lora looked through her bun to see what was inside it and she can not recognize them as she did not know anything about food.
"Those are slices of ham, cheese, little cubes of green, red, and yellow bell pepper, more anions, cabbage, tomatoes. On that, there are ketchup, mustard sauce, and bbq sauce. They had applied butter on the bun before adding all those and those little black thing is black pepper."
Samura gave a brief description of that sub-roll in one breath because she felt Lora had never tried them as she looked at her bun. Lora was looking at Samura, opening her mouth a little bit without realizing it. Her eyes widened.
"What?" Samura was looking ahead when she was telling her about the bun and she asked Lora, chuckling when she saw Lora looking at her like that. "No, nothing," Lora replied looking away embarrassedly.
"Take a bite." Samura hastened Lora to try her sub bun. Lora hesitantly took a bite and her eyes widened again. "Mmm..." Lora chewed it nodding with an amazed and happy face.
"It's delicious!" Lora told Samura covering her mouth. "I told ya." Samura agreed with her and they both took bites from their buns, walking again along the path. Lora finished her sub bun without talking, enjoying it.
"So, what is your age?" Samura asked after they both finished their buns while sitting on a wooden bench, under a tree. Lora picked a yellow-orange and light-red mixed leaf which had fallen from the tree. "Umm, I'm twelve." Lora said with a slight smile, looking at the beauty of the leaf.
She was still in an awkward phase as friendship was not a familiar thing to her. "No way!!!" Lora was shaken when Samura shouted in surprise.
"I'm also twelve." Lora was also surprised when Samura uttered that. "What?" Samura nodded her head, telling her it was true. "Wow! That was unexpected." Lora said awkwardly.
"I was surprised too. I can't believe this." Samura said in an amazed voice.
"What is your school?" Lora got worried and feared. She had so much tension thinking that everything will get worst if someone found out about this. She thought of lying to Samura since they only met for an hour.
Samura saw Lora's tense behavior and surprisingly she understand her.
"Ahh.. forget it. You probably hate school. right? Everyone does so." Samura tried to ease Lora's tension.
Lora felt relieved because Samura did not ask much she smiled awkwardly.
"Why are you alone?" Samura asked another question. Lora wanted to disappear from there but she did not have any options to escape the situation.
"I... I... wanted... to... get fresh air... yeah." Lora answered. "What about you?" She asked immediately before Samura inquired her more.
"Me? I live near here. I always come here to enjoy the scenery." Samura replied without any worries. She truly enjoyed everything, Lora thought.
"Why are you alone? Did your parents give you freedom like that?" Lora asked again. She was curious about everything. She thought every parent was like her father. Looking at how Samura enjoyed her life like that, she wanted to know more about things she don't know.
"My parents? They gave me freedom because they trust me and I keep their trust?" Lora nodded.
"How did you earn that trust?" Samura was looking at the road and vehicles passing them but she looked at Lora when she asked that question.
"You don't have to earn it." Lora looked at her frowning. "They trust their child automatically. That's how the world goes." Lora went into deep thought and tried to memorize if her father trust her.
"Then---" Before Lora end her question, the clock tower showed the time as midnight with a loud sound.
"I need to go, bye." Lora rushed. She needed to enter her dorm room before someone found out she was not in her room at night.
